My baby won’t wean and still won’t sleep in her crib.
I had to rearrange my living room to get her to stop tearing things apart. She loved to pull down our lamp and stick her fingers in the DVD player.
I’m tired.

I don’t know why my kids both have suddenly decided that they hate sleep, but I don’t like it. DD has been waking up about midnight every night for the last week because she can’t sleep. J decided tonight that he wanted to join her in the midnight party. I finally got DD to go back to bed, but J won’t go back to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. 😕

L throws a major fit every time I change his diaper and clothes. It is so frustrating. I used to be able to give him a toy to distract him, but that has quit working.

It takes me about 45 minutes to get her dressed and we've mostly stopped using cloth diapers because they take that much longer to get on. Buuuut she can take disposables off as soon as you turn your back.

And I practically have to hold her down otherwise she rolls over and runs away naked. When she was a baby she hated being wet but now she hates being changed. Toys don't work here either.

It had been quiet here when I had been checking in so thanks for getting conversation started leatherpants. The baby has been sick forever and is now on meds for her first ear infection. She made it almost 15 months so I'm glad since D1 had them all the time as a baby and even with tubes as a toddler. I'm waiting for a call back from her optomologist to schedule surgery to open her blocked tear ducts that she was born with as they should have resolved by now. She just had pink eye twice back to back so we are going to move forward with the procedure to avoid infections going forward. She is a sensitive girl so I'm not looking forward to the procedure. She still isn't really talking much and can only say certain vowels (I for hi and u for up) but no consonants. EI did an evaluation last month and she qualifies for services so she will be starting speech therapy soon. She knows a lot of what we tell her she just can't seem to express words to us. Like if she wants to go somewhere she brings me her shoes or she will walk to the pantry or fridge when she is hungry and will sign to eat but that is the only sign she has picked up. She won't do any others. She gets frustrated very easily when I don't know what she wants so hopefully ST helps.

J had his ENT appointment today. Has fluid in his left ear, but it’s not infected (yet). Doesn’t surprise me...he just finished his third round of abx on Friday and he’s been getting infections about a week after he’s done. We have an appointment to get tubes in both ears next Friday.

Same here. We get home around 5 and he’s usually so hungry, so it’s leftovers for him while I start dinner, his bedtime at 6:30, then H and I eat dinner in peace. ETA: no dog here. My brother has a dog and and he now sits by L at most meals when we’re together. L hasn’t realized that he eats the food he drops, although it’s not like he needs any outside motivation to throw his food. Does that all on his own. You two are describing my son too. We get home from daycare and he just wants to be held and fusses most of the evening...unless we are outside. If we are outside there is little you can do wrong, but that makes it difficult to get anything done, so I have to deal with the fuss until bedtime. With my older daughters I always put them in a back carry after work. They enjoyed snuggles and I could make dinner and unpack bags.

Ds is just now starting to walk about half the time (14.5mo), but he has zero words. He’s a fussy little thing and doesn’t sleep worth beans. Mama is tired. We are CIO now after the first wake up.

We hosted my DD’s birthday party this weekend and I don’t think I saw Owen the entire party😂 he was so happy to play with the other kids and perfectly content to be passed around by all the adults. Thanking my lucky stars because my DD would have been glued to me hip at that age😅
This week the kids are going to vacation bible school and DD slept over at grandma’s last night. It was SO strange to only have 1 kid this morning!!

The baby has had two eye infections back to back so we scheduled surgery to fix her blocked tear ducts that never resolved themselves from birth. Because of her age they will need to put her under anesthesia. I'm sure it will be fine and similar to when D1 had her ear tube surgery. But she is an early riser and always wants breakfast right away so I'm dreading the morning and not letting her eat.

A took her first steps while we were at a wedding on Saturday! Of course my grandma and I had been talking that morning, how it might be a while and she looked like she needed a little more balance/strength.
She’s always making a liar out of me.

Hey ladies!! It’s been a while since I’ve checked in, work has been insanely busy for the last month or so, but things have finally slowed down, so I’m going to try to keep up a bit more.
Glad to see I’m not the only one with a kid who has almost no speech. We just had L’s 15 month appointment today (even though he’s almost 16 months) and he has almost no words. Doctor didn’t seem concerned since he understands us and will answer yes and no by shaking his head to questions, but I’m not sure at what point it becomes a “thing” to be concerned about. I think he just simply doesn’t care. He’s always been like that, even as an infant he barely ever made any noises.
Other than that, things have been great, just hectic. L and DS1 have really started playing well together. DS1 has really embraced showing L how to do things, and anything big brother does, L immediately wants to do! It’s been fun to watch.

Good luck with the surgery!

My gosh. What a brutal bedtime for L. He was verrrryyy fussy just before bed and would hardly even nurse. He calmed down for bath and books but started up again when I put him in bed. He slept for an hour and then was just up for almost 2 hours. I’m hoping it’s teeth because what the heck else could it be? He was inconsolable. I checked him everywhere and ended up giving Motrin but it took forever to get him to calm down, fall asleep, and stay asleep. This is so not like him.

clementine sleep sympathies to you. O refused to nap for H today and has been waking ~1x a night to scream for like 10 seconds (not even long enough for me to make it down to his room) and then go back to sleep. Meanwhile I’m AWAKE because of the screaming🤦🏼♀️ Maybe a little Motrin before bed will help? When in doubt, blame it on teeth right?🤷🏼♀️🙃

I thought I had a changeling but it turned out she was getting secret molars up there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m on #6 and I’m really irritated that I’ll be dealing with this for the next decade or so. Wtf. I only had one cycle between each of my last three babes so this is INSANE to me. Bleh.
