Who is using a pillow? E is a side sleeper and looks super uncomfortable while shes sleeping - altho arguably she sleeps great so it's just me who thinks it looks uncomfortable.
The internet says at 1.5 they can start to use a pillow? Anyone use one or thinking about using one?
**jk other sites say not until 2. Sigh. I guess ill just keep waiting hah

cythe I think we waited with DS until he was two. Little one sleeps with a stuffed unicorn and sometimes uses that as a pillow 🤷♀️ I’m sick, little one is sick and DH is sick. I feel like I just got over shingles and now I’m sick again with a gross cough and runny nose. I started the pill a few weeks ago and I feel like I’ve gained a bunch of weight. My jeans are all tight 😢 or maybe it was the anti virals but I’ve been off those for a while. Someone should do something about how fat I am! 😂 For my fellow SDV fans, I got this mug this week

We didn’t use a pillow with DD1 till she moved to a floor bed at 2.5 or so. I guess we’ll do the same for DD2 🤷♀️ Honestly DD1 still doesn’t seem to care about pillows and isn’t even on it some mornings so I don’t think babies and toddlers care as much about the comfort thing like us old people need. Me? I need like 4 and they all need to be fluffy or I wake up creaky and stiff 😂

I loooove pillows- I also need like 4 at night and I use them to build a little nest of sorts. My kids are not into them yet. DS1 is 4 and still doesn’t sleep on any of the pillows we’ve given him. DS2 doesn’t seem to want one, so I’ll probably wait until he’s in a toddler bed to give him one. Weirdos.

I have a fancy water filled pillow from my chiropractor. It’s amazing. DD still uses a pretty flat pillow at almost 5. I won’t give DS one until we move him out of the crib, so probably at like 2.5? Definitely not before 2. He still doesn’t have blankets either. He does have 3 stuffed animals and a doll though... he insists upon all of them and they usually end up at the bottom of the crib so 🤷🏽♀️

We gave DS1 one of those small toddler pillows when he moved to his big boy bed around 2yo. He seemed unimpressed with his toddler pillow around Christmas (3.5yo) so we got him a regular sized flat pillow. I don't plan to let DS2 have a pillow until he moves to a regular bed. He has an A&A muslin blanket and an A&A dream blanket in his crib and sometimes it appears like he uses one like pillow. He treats the muslin blanket like a lovey/stuffed animal and cuddles it all night. And drags it around all day. He's my Linus.

No pillows here. I’ve tried to use a blanket or even give him a stuffed toy to hold but he’s not having any of it. Everything gets tossed out and he sleeps alone, uncovered. Looks super cold and uncomfortable.

I’m traveling for work this week and my mom is watching the baby. We thought it may be too upsetting to transfer to a new daycare of strangers the same week I’m gone. Tomorrow my mom and dad are taking him to a nearby pond to feed the ducks. He’s going to be so spoiled all week.

I started working out again. I was big time into running and weights pre-kids but the day I found out I was pregnant with DD1 I stopped working out and never got back into it. I miss the me time it gave me and I miss the sense of accomplishment that comes with finishing a race. I’m trying to drink more water too.
Right now though all my muscles are screaming and I kind of want to take a nap at 9:11 in the morning. 😩

We’re getting closer to our summer trip back to the states, and I’m getting more excited about spending some quality time with our families and friends! I also can’t wait to have easy access to a Target 😂🤣.
I will admit that I’m reaaaaaaalllllly dreading the 24 hours of flying with my kids to get to the USA, but I’m just hoping they will surprise me by being good. I am starting to stock up on new and never before seen little toys/prizes to keep DS2 entertained for at least some of the trip. He is getting into Thomas the Train, so I’m on the hunt for 20 month old appropriate Thomas stuff that can keep his attention. Any other suggestions?

Taitai iPad. Videos and games. Taitai iPad with movies was my first thought too. But I know you limit screen time..... We are driving to FL for vacation next month and I'm really scared about the drive with the boys. DS1 will be fine, but I don't know about DS2. UGH. My plan is movies and shows on the iPad or DVD player.

bootsorhearts1 CoachTsWife We totally break the rules and let the kids watch as many shows or play as many games as they want on iPads/in flight entertainment on these mega-long itineraries. For DS2, unfortunately, the iPad only holds his attention for like 10-15 minutes, and then he wants to explore. 😩. Especially when they have the food/beverage carts out, I can’t have him terrorizing the flight attendants. I have some little new toys, magic coloring books, and those water color books from Melissa & Doug. I’m going to search for more cheap little sticker books or something....he tends to like to work with his hands, so maybe a small thing of duplos too. Sigh....between 18 and 24 months is the absolutely WORST time to fly.

Taitai this stage (18-36 months) is tough for restaurants and grocery shopping too. She will scream her head off after sitting in the cart for 5 minutes. I end up being that mom pushing a cart and carrying a screaming toddler under one arm. 😬

Taitai stickers always keep DD2 entertained for long periods of time. What about playdoh or modeling clay? Pipecleaners or wikisticks? those gel window cling thingys? A slinky or koosh ball? Not sure what all you have access to over there before you comeback over here but those things keep DD2 occupied during long waits.... along with lots of snacks😂 bootsorhearts1 I now have to grocery shop at Kroger because they have those obnoxious car carts and free price of fruit to snack on that buys me *maybe* an extra 10 minutes of peace with the girls

I need to make sure I have all of his favorites ready to go in little resealable containers. I know he would love clay or play doh, but I don’t trust him with that stuff on an airplane - I fear he’d squish it into the seat and carpet and make a huge mess. Maybe a slinky though - that’s a good idea too!

Taitai this may be really child dependent but we found an activity that will keep DS2 occupied for quite a while. Our Parents As Teachers lady was by last week and she brought a clean, empty water bottle along with squares of various colored tissue paper and foil. The squares were probably 2 inches x 2 inches in size. She demonstrated putting a piece of tissue in the bottle and then let DS2 have at it. He was fascinated by this and got really good at sticking the paper in the bottle. Over and over again I fished the tissue out of the bottle so he could do it again. That would be relatively easy to pack so I thought I'd mention it.

I am breaking the flight into segments (18 hours of flying time...so much time to fill), so this will be a nice little activity to have in my back pocket for when the easy stuff like books and short videos run their course. Thanks again!

This works well with a Kleenex box or a wipes container if you find yourself in a pinch - it can also be done with straws and a cup with a strawlid type thing. I’m not advocating for wastefulness but if you find yourself stuck in airport for hours on end.... desperate times and all.

We had our EI eval today and E qualifies for 2x weekly speech and 2x weekly PT which comes as a surprise to no one. They said the goal is to start therapy within 30 days so im anxious to get going on that.
MRI is the 17th so I am also still anxiously waiting that.

cythe I’m so glad you can get therapy started. Whether or not there’s any underlying issues (hopefully there isn’t), the therapy may help and can’t hurt. Maybe she just needs some extra help and that will make a difference. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
