These boys are so busy I barely have time to come on here. We are on full day 2 of summer vacation and I’m already exhausted. Lol. E has another cold and both boys basically want to eat all day. They also get jealous of each other and fight over sitting in my lap.

Hugs for all the sick kiddos! Hope they are all feeling better soon! Working like nuts trying to get ahead of stuff so I can be out tomorrow/Monday for my dad's party. So excited. Not excited for the flight, I went to check in 4 minutes after we were able and there were NO seats next to each other, so H and I are one row behind each other, AND I had to pay extra for both. Pray for us lol. (Or that whoever sits next to H decides to swap with me, because we're both middle seats but at least mine is the first row behind first class so there's more legroom? ) Oh, and American's system won't remember N's birthday so we still have to check in at the counter. Hey quinn - been thinking of you and your treasure-hunting vacay - how did it go?!

I’m thrilled to be able to spend the summer with her, but yesterday I started making a list of all of the toddler play groups and other activities in the area. We need to get OUT! haha

I’m happy they want to be with me, but I wouldn’t mind being able to go to the bathroom in peace.

They need to print him a boarding pass even though he won’t have a seat and they need to see his birth certificate to do that.

Except we never get asked to see his certificate lol But thank you for the reminder to go grab it anyway! I always figure the one time I forget it will be when they ask 😂

Hi. I'm still here. The end of the school year is so consuming. I always assume I slow down but it just gets so chaotic and crazy every year. I'm also in complete denial that I'm moving districts again. I cried while taking apart my classroom night. Only 2.5 more days with kids and six days until I'm officially done for the summer.
I have a spa day planned with my besties for Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it. I need a day to relax and let some of this stress disappate.
I am having an existential crisis though right now. When we moved to Syracuse I left a school district that I LOVED. Well they just posted an opening and I'm desperate to apply but it's an hour plus drive from our new house and I fucking hate commuting. I want so badly to apply and possibly go back there but I don't know if I could handle the drive. The city district out there I taught for out of college is working on my rehire now and I applied at another nice suburban district closer to our new house too. I'm such a mess, I hate not knowing where I'll be in September. I hate starting over and learning to new processes and procedures and new people and policies and resetting up my room. Six years of teaching and I've only ever not taken down my room once. I'm so tired of it. Someone make my life choices for me?

It’s pouring out right now. It’s the 4th straight day of rain, and I’m sick of it. Hopefully it lightens up enough that I can run with the stroller in a bit. I have a weather guard that keeps E dry, but it doesn’t work as well if it’s pouring like it is now.
My H gets out of work early on Fridays, so we might head to the children’s museum, but I have a feeling everyone else might have the same idea today and we may regret our decision to go.

cnf, I can totally relate to your feelings of switching schools. I work 45 minutes away from my home and while it isn’t terrible it isn’t ideal either. Everyone always asks me why don’t I apply to the district I live in. I’ve been working at my current job for 16 years. The thought of starting over in a new district is very overwhelming. I’d love to work closer and not travel as far. But I hate the idea of being in a new school is scary. I’m comfortable, I know what I’m doing, and I hate being at the bottom of the totem pole. I wish I had some advice for you but I just wanted to let you know I get what you are saying.

Well I can basically count the new suburban district out. I just realized my cover letter has another districts name in my closing paragraph and I can't back and edit my application 🤦 OMG how am I so bad at my life!?
So I just applied to my old district that I loved. Guess if they'll have me back I'll make the hour commute. Ugh.

Speaking of new jobs, I have an interview this morning! It’s in about 40 minutes and I’m nervous but confident. Then we’re packing up and heading up north to the cabin we go to every summer! We can only stay 4 days and it’s supposed to rain/thunderstorm for 3 of them 😑.

cnf sorry! My commute is 45 min with traffic and I hate it but it gives me time to listen to podcasts so it makes it a little easier. pootsen good luck with the interview! We’re heading up north too, I’m hoping for some breaks in the weather.

I left apple about 6 months ago and have regretted it ever since but couldn’t switch back right away due to some fine print. I just reactivated my iPhone last night and although the screen is super small compared to my old phone I couldn’t be happier. I’m an iPhone girl for life.

cnf, I can’t imagine switching schools/districts so many times. That’s gotta be hard. I just wrapped up year 12 at my school, and even though I could make more money elsewhere, I don’t want to start over as the newbie in a school.

I didn’t realize you’d been to so many different schools. Sorry if my first comment about things working out seemed flippant. Maybe your next school will be your forever school? And if it makes you feel any better, I realized when I got home from my interview that the side of my shoe had been totally worn and was cracked/peeling. It was a pair of heels I hadn’t worn in forever but they promptly when in the trash. I just hope no one was looking at my feet!

I took the three youngest kids on errands this morning including the salon for haircuts for DS and M and then the hospital for C’s labs to be drawn. We all survived thanks to lollipops, stickers, and Starbucks. The nurse already called to say her numbers are great and they’ll see her Wednesday for the last chemo! The ILs are coming to town this weekend- it’ll be...fine. We’ll do some tourist stuff and go out to eat.

Hey quinn - been thinking of you and your treasure-hunting vacay - how did it go?! we spent 3 days digging what the metal detector said was huge, iron and coins but just couldn't reach it. We're going back in a couple months with better equipment. So, no treasure womp womp. But we did find tons of cool stuff! Ship nails from the 1700s, a native American arrowhead and flint stone, a drawer pull from the 1800s, so it wasn't a total loss. It was so much fun but I got destroyed by black flies. Thanks for checking in!

I have been completely mia but I try to read through when I can. Every time I would go to post I would get redirected so I gave up after awhile.
Things have been so busy here. AJ is talking up a storm and gets cuter everyday somehow lol, ds3 starts soccer tomorrow and we're trying to sign him up for preschool, ds2 finally got his cast off but he's supposed to take it easy still which is so difficult for him now that summer is here, and ds1 is done with school and officially a sophomore 😮

I’ve been worried about C’s speech. He’s a bit behind and ds1 had a delay and is going through speech therapy for apraxia so I’m just a bit anxious about it. In the past couple of days he’s started saying “hi!” (While waving) and “bye!” And it makes my heart soar.

But also where early intervention is available, so while I'm not saying be worried, might as well ask next time you're at the doctor's office? I hope your job interview went well! I don't think I'd notice your shoes We had a good weekend getting back on track after DD being sick and our crazy work weeks. A hike, some gardening, a birthday party, a dinner out. Brunch with a friend today and some errands and visiting and then a relaxing afternoon playing in the backyard and going to Whole foods. DD loved the samples: a nutty cracker with mascarpone and a slice of apple and raspberries with fresh whipped coconut cream, hahahaha, fancy tastes.
