I am so sorry for your loss, quinn. Sending love to you and your family. YAY sarahandben108!!! FX he keeps it up! Hope C is feeling better soon, pootsen! You are most definitely not a shitty parent. N had a follow-up with the pedi yesterday to make sure the extra fluid in his ear cleared, and he's all good. He was in a fucking MOOD, though. Cried because I removed a crumb from his cheek. Cried because I wouldn't let him eat a frozen pancake. Cried because when we finally got to DC yesterday, his class was having outside time so I brought him to the playground. It's not his usual (plus he was also falling asleep in the car), so omg the tantrum. Flip side, I went back for the parent-teacher conference later in the afternoon and the head teacher for the room was like "He's such a happy boy!" LOL yeah, glad he is for you. H and my parents are now trying to convince me that instead of getting H something cheap, we get me something newer (still used) and give H my car. The idea of having a car with better safety features is definitely appealing, but a car payment is not. I did find some options so H and I will talk more when he gets home tonight.

As someone who just had to sacrifice my bathroom remodel so my family can travel together, I get it cakewench. A car payment is less than ideal. But honestly, the safety features in cars now are amazing. It is definitely something to think about.

I really wasn't wild about the idea until I saw a good 2017 CRV EX, which would come with blind spot monitoring, lane drift alert, front collision monitoring with automatic braking (plus rear camera on a 7inch screen)... and now I'm wondering how much down we can do to get the monthly cost to what I can handle. Because damn. Speaking of which, did someone hit powerball last night? Need to go check the numbers

C’s rash is getting worse. Now he has small pink dots all over his stomach, chest, and upper back. I think I’ll take him in tomorrow. It doesn’t seem to bother him at all though, which is good. Ds1 has been a real pill lately. Throwing tantrums over every.little.thing., refusing to listen, hitting, etc. I’m over it and feel like a shitty parent. I'll internet diagnose him with impetigo. Ds2 got it before I got his eczema was handled and it was tons of pink/red dots and they seemed to be multiplying before my eyes. He also had breakdown behind his ears. Thankfully it's any easy fix with antibiotics. Eta- I didn't read your whole post, our ds1s are similar ages and we just went through that. I think we're finally coming out of it now though, hang in there, you're doing great! Impetigo... interesting! I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. Rashes are hard to figure out sometimes so I made him an appt with one of my fav old school docs who I’m sure will get a diagnosis ha. Glad to hear there’s a light at the end of the tunnel!

Hey. I haven’t popped in for a bit. Sorry about that. But I need help. Anyone else still nursing? I’m trying to wean N and it’s not going well. He only nurses Before bed (doesn’t fall asleep though) and during the night during his million and one wake ups. Which I think is the main problem. I think there is little to no milk happening anyways. My one nipple has the worst milk blister and I cringe when I forget in my sleep offer it to him. I think he’s just sucking for comfort and not getting any. I just want to be done. I don’t know how to stop. My other two weaned on their own at 9.5 and 11 months.

I'm still nursing before bed and then in the morning- I pump if i miss a feed and get around 2-3oz. Sometimes I will nurse middle of the day if he asks or if he wakes up MOTN and won't settle but i don't think he gets much during those feedings and it's a comfort thing. I don't plan on weaning until he does it himself but he's already nursing for less time and that's how my first weaned. Anyways, nursing only works when both people want to keep doing it. If you want to be done then just stop offering. The middle of the night wake ups might be hard for a few days but he'll get the hint eventually. I am a firm believer in CIO but I know it's not for everyone. If you feel like you need to go in there offer a pacifier if he'll take one, or a sippy cup of water. When I night weaned (and my kids we're every 2hr motn eaters for a loong time) I started by just cutting back how frequently I'd nurse. So for example, if they woke up before 12am they might get a cuddle but I would not nurse. After 12 I would. Slowly I would increase that time until current practice if it's before 530 I'm not nursing him (barring illness, then all bets are off!). It absolutely resulted in him needing to CIO or snuggle- but he'd get mad if I tried to snuggle and not nurse so usually it was just a hug and put back in his crib. So tl;dr- start backing off on how often you offer nursing, set times so you're not tempted and know that your kiddo will get it eventually!

I was expecting work to be a shit show today. We have yet another strike (I think this will be a monthly thing), and I was expecting one of my coworkers not to come in. Well, he did, which made things way less stressful. I am still dealing with a stressful issue from earlier in the week, but it has mostly tapered off. H went OOT early yesterday morning so it has just been me and the girls. DD1 and I made brownies yesterday, which was a delicious treat. Both girls have been pleasant, although DD2 reserves the right to change on a dime, lol. Tonight I am going to start prepping a casserole thing to bring up to my sister's house on Saturday. I think I will make the carnitas meat tonight, and then put together the casserole tomorrow night. Should be fairly quick. I also need to work out tonight, in addition to the regular nightly routine. There aren't enough hours in the day! But it was my fault for "sleeping in" until 5:40 instead of waking up at 4:15 to work out and shower.

I will cutting back the amount of time I let him suck too. He won’t take a pacifier. I tried a sippy cup last night and he somehow managed to dump the whole thing all over himself 🙄. Guess that cup was not leak proof. Although I think In his madness of me not nursing him he yanked on the nipple part and pulled it out part way.

Good Morning! It's raining here.....AGAIN. This weekend looks nice though, so thank goodness for that. We don't have any real plans for the weekend. There's a local flower and garden show we might go to. It's within walking distance at our fair grounds so it would be a great excuse to get out.
My H and I watched the Big Bang Finale last night and boy I could tell my period is coming because I got a little choked up at the end. We have been fans of the show from the beginning but not that die hard that I would cry. lol.

We have rain here too, yesterday it was mid 70s today we haven't hit 50 yet.
This weekend should be okay, some rain but not as cold. I think I'll take the kids to my city's "Safety Saturday." They have police, fire and emt vehicles that the kids can play around in, free bike helmets, bounce houses etc. Ds1 always enjoys it.

I’m looking at buying the Cosco finale for my DD as her travel seat and I’m having second thoughts about whether to flip her yet. I really don’t want to lug her britax on the plane again. But I would rather wait until 4 to turn her.

I know it’s not ideal but other seats are so damn heavy. And funny enough, you traveling was why I came in here. I don’t think I ever saw when you guys were coming back. I saw that June 9th is IPTV Kids Clubhouse day at the ballpark. It’s a day game and we were going to bring be kids. I wasn’t sure if that was during your trip or not.

Good morning! Our house sold this week. We have like a three week gap between closings which stinks, but we'll figure it out.
C is running a fever this morning and is very grumpy. Poor kiddo. Going to dose her up with Motrin because we're planning to do the last of our vendor meetings today for our new house so I need her to not be a monster.

Doctor thought C’s rash was a reaction to an irritant so we’re starting an anti-histamine and a steroid cream. DH pointed out that we bought a new type of laundry detergent about 6 weeks ago so I wonder if it’s that.
Both boys are acting like feral animals and it’s supposed to rain all day. Maybe we’ll take them to an indoor play place. My parents randomly offered to take them overnight so I’m taking DH to an early birthday dinner at a steak house. So excited!

All 4 of E’s canines have been coming in for a few weeks now, and this morning I noticed she’s also got one of her second molars (2 year molars) coming in on the bottom. So crazy.

There is zero room for rear facing in the Cosco (ETA: we have a scenera, not sure they even make that anymore, and oops I think it may be expired actually). I front faced DD2 on the plane and she is only 18 months. 🤷♀️ We still RF in the car. You could always forward face for travel and then continue to RF everywhere else. DD1 stopped using a car seat on a plane at like 2, or whenever I could be confident she would stay in her seat.
