29 1/2” and 19lbs at his 12 mo check up. He loves bananas and blueberries. He hates all things protein. He stands, but doesn’t walk. He crawls so fast! He still doesn’t sleep through the night.
We never did bottles, but he has significantly lowered his nursing habits. He still nurses over night, but he uses a straw cup when I think about it at meal time.

Age: 13 months Height/Weight: 29.75" (72%) / 21 lbs (71%) New skills: Basically running at this point and climbing ALL OF THE THINGS Likes/Dislikes: She loves everything except for being stopped from doing the most daredevil-y things. Sorry kid, I'm not going to let you climb a 7' high set of stairs at the playground by yourself and then slide down the slide headfirst. Rants/Raves: I continue to be cautiously shocked at how easy N is. She really just goes with the flow for everything. But at the same time, she's definitely going to give me a heart attack because she has literally zero fear. She also still doesn't have any stranger danger and I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not? I thought that was a development milestone but now I'm not sure.
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? Have not. With E we dropped literally on her first birthday. But N was still waking up overnight to eat until the last few days so I didn't really want to stop. Now that I think she's over that, we may finally put the bottles away. She's drinking really well from a straw cup during the day so I think it should be okay.

Age: 13 months
Height/Weight: 28.5 inches and 19lbs. Just a peanut! Wild, since she started out as a giant.
New skills: So much receptive language! So many gestures and trying to copy everything we do. She climbs on everything and has no chill. Runs everywhere.
Likes/Dislikes: She loves birds and fish and gets so excited watching birds at the feeder and going to the library to see the fish.
Rants/Raves: We are inching closer to sleeping through the night. Typically still have 3 wakeups, even when I'm not here and daddy puts her to bed. But a few times recently she has woken once around 11 and gone back down until 6 ish.
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? We never did bottles but she still nurses like a damn newborn when I'm with her. Trying to cut that out.

Age: 14 months
Height/Weight: Not exactly sure, somewhere around 20 lbs I would guess. I am not sure how he’s still so tiny despite the amount of food he consumes.
New skills: His language skills have really taken off, lots of new words and he understands so much. H’s favorite is that he can now label stick and puck in his hockey book. He learned to push the button to make his mini 4 wheeler go and it’s hilarious to watch him ride it... just smiling and looking at us as he rides straight into the wall and continues to press the button so the wheels just keep spinning. Still smiling and so proud of himself. 😂
Likes/Dislikes: He loves to eat in general, and especially loves grapes and blueberries. Also likes opening and closing doors and saying “hiiiiiii” every time he opens it and sees you (I’m just waiting for a pinched finger). He gets hangry pretty quickly so he hates waiting for food. Also hates when he’s heading for a cabinet/fridge that’s open and I close it before he gets there.
Rants/Raves: I am sooo happy to be done with bottles and pumping. No more washing bottles and pump parts, assembling them every day, dealing with milk storage, etc. I didn’t mind the actual act of pumping but all the associated work that came with it was slowly sucking the life out of me.
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? He’s nursing morning and before bed. No bottles anymore, just cups at mealtimes. I have no recs. I had one million questions and concerns about dropping bottles and I tried to have a plan, but I ended up just following his lead and he kinda did it on his own.

N will be 13 months on the 4th. At her one year check she was 24lb. I can't remember her height exactly, but it was 85 percentile.
She crawls furiously but has only just started trying to walk while holding our hands. I think it could still be a while before she takes independent steps.
She has so many words, which totally blows my mind! And she understands everything, it's so much fun to talk and explain things to her.
She's incredibly silly. She loves making us laugh by making funny faces and sounds, she loves being tickled and tossed around on the couch by her grandpa. Her favourite foods are berries of all sorts, toast, broccoli, babybel cheese.
She's still a wonderful sleeper, we lucked out in that department!
We're down to morning and bedtime bottles, but we've moved the bedtime bottle to before bath rather than after. Her two post-nap bottles have been replaced by sippies of milk. She strongly prefers straw cups so that's what we're sticking with now.

Age: 13 mo Height/Weight: 2 foot 6, 26 pounds. BIG GIRL New skills: Saying "Hi!", walking everywhere, using the "thank you" hand sign. Likes/Dislikes: She loves most food (green beans are a current fav), dancing, and snuggling pillows and stuffed animals. She dislikes most fruit, booger removal, and that goddamn school bus that takes her brother away every day (she hollers at it as it pulls away lol). Rants/Raves: She is silly, funny and communicative. She says Mama, Dada, Andy, Hi, All done, and Love you (ruv ru). Incredibly easy going. Popped through molars without us even knowing. Starting to get a little feistier about being told "no" lol.
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? Yes, we mostly did it cold turkey right at 12 mo. We started out by replacing each with a cup of milk but that was way too constipating so we just offered a small snack and water cup instead. She barely noticed honestly. We will continue a nighttime bottle for awhile longer.

Age: 14m on Monday Height/Weight: 30.5 inches. 20lbs12oz New skills: gotten really stable at walking/running Likes/Dislikes: loves climbing cornpop we are in the same boat. J climbs everything. He climbs and walks across our kitchen table. I don’t even worry about him and stairs, he climbs up and down on his own. At the park her climbs the stairs and goes down the slide by himself. Hates vegetables. My girls were such good eaters, I’m at a loss. He poops massive amounts first thing every morning and has to sleep in a size 6 pull up to stop it coming out the back. Rants/Raves: He is finally taking naps! He didn’t nap even once during the day for 3 months. And sleeping through the night. But he’s tough, since he’s a climber he is everywhere and quick. I can’t turn my back on him. Since getting my period back I’ve had serious pain and significant bleeding. Possibly Adenomyosis, so even though I had my tubes removed I am going to get a Mirena. QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? He never took bottles, and we weaned breastfeeding just after his first birthday.

Age: 12m2w Height/Weight: I forgot actual measurements but 80% for height, 75% for weight. She still only has four teeth.
New skills: She says a bunch of words now: Mama/Mommy, Dada/Daddy, Puppy, Rock-Rock, Baby, Hi, bye, something that sounds like thank you
She climbs up everything, knows to go down stairs on her butt (but tries to do this on our high bed/couch), knows how to play with legos and our playmobil set, and loves feeding/rocking her baby dolls
Likes/Dislikes: She still hates pouches 🙄 and it’s been hard to figure out what to feed her. She’s a little pickier than DD1 was and we figured out that milk was giving her bad diarrhea (but not dairy products 🤷🏻♀️) so I’m constantly nervous she’s getting enough vitamins and calories.
She also did really really well transitioning to DC with DD1. There’s also another little girl (16m?) that DD2 keeps trying to get to play with her. It’s so cute and funny to see.
She loves being outside. She is so so happy at a playground or out in the yard. If she’s at all fussy all you had to do is take her outside. Bubbles are a huge hit and it’s so cute when she tries to blow them.
Rants/Raves: fat brain toys!! She also has a little ride on toy that she loves.
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? We’re on the struggle bus. I think we’re going to get some bottle-like cups. With DD1 we cut bottles cold turkey but DD2 seems to still need that a bit. Bc she doesn’t eat as much it makes me feel better to know she’s definitely getting some extra formula that way. And she has an underbite so I’m not worried about it ruining her mouth shape 😂
*eta that she’s a really good hugger. She runs to you with her arms out and snuggles in and pats your back/arm. My grandma passed away last fall and always said “you have to teach babies to hug!! Wrap their little arms around your neck and hold them close!” And apparently we all did a great job training DD2 😂 sorry! I print out all our check ins and didn’t want to forget about that.

Age: 13 months Height/Weight: 17 lbs 7 oz and 28.75 inches at her 12 month appt-she is still so small
New skills: learned to shake her head no and is obsessed with doing it. Learned to blow and blows on all of her food even if it's not warm. Is practically running everywhere and like others has no fear and tries to climb everything and get into everything.
Likes/Dislikes: loves music and books. Favorite foods are waffles and chicken nuggets. Dislikes sharing with her sister. Hates getting her diaper changed and getting dressed. Rants/Raves: She still doesn't have any words and gets so frustrated when we don't know what she wants. It's so frustrating. She is such a picky eater so meal times are hard because she won't eat much. D1 was such an adventurous eater since the beginning so this is new to me.
We've tried dairy and it makes her sick so she may have a dairy allergy like her sister. Finding ways to get calcium in her has been tricky.
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? She started to self wean a little before she turned 1 and was down to nursing only once or twice. Fully weaned two weeks after she turned 1. She will drink coconut milk out of those munchkin 360 cups and has water bottles for water. She figured out the straw pretty quickly.

Add me to the awful PPM periods. I got mine back pretty quickly and was getting periods every two weeks sometimes more. I got a Mirena in January and I'm not sure how much it will help. I just ended my 4th period since I got it. The first one lasted over 25 days and now they are about 10 days long. They are super heavy and the cramps are horrible but my OB wants me to give it 6 months.

i love reading about everyone’s babes! i can not believe it’s been a year
Age: 14 months 5/4
Height/Weight: 12 month stats - 16lbs 11oz 28.75” she’s my string bean baby i’m guessing she’s around 17.5 and 29.5” at this point
New skills: so close to walking - taking lots of steps but i wouldn’t call it walking. has a few words- mama, dada, uh oh, kitty cat.
Likes/Dislikes: she loves food. dd1 was (and is still) so picky. i’m waiting for her to show some of that pickiness. dislikes - i can’t really think of anything? books that don’t have flaps or some sort of sensory feature?
Rants/Raves: she’s not a great napper - there is absolutely no consistency in them whatsoever. we had a streak of only one wake up around 4am but then she was up at 2 and 5 last night. she doesn’t really get cranky from lack of sleep (like her sister)though so i guess i can’t complain too much. she is just such a happy kid. loves giving hugs and kisses and scooting up onto my lap when i’m on the floor. she’s also great at entertaining herself, which is something her sister still can’t manage at this point.
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? she never really took a bottle. she is nursing about 5 times a day - we just dropped the second night feed. i’m kind of just taking her lead with the weaning.

Aw! This is such a fun stage for babies. It’s fun to read about what the babies are up to
B is 14 mo on Monday and I would be surprised if he’s hit the 20lbs mark yet. He’s growing tall but is so small when you pick him up. I like to worry about that.
Not walking yet but he’s getting close. He crawls so fast and wants to be held constantly so he’ll probably never learn to walk and just con people into carrying him
He’s a spirited lad. He’s thrown 3 fits this morning alone and then spent 20 mins snuggling and kissing. He’s working hard on trying to say words.
He’s a great napper still and is very committed to waking up at 5am to nurse and then back down until 7ish.
He refuses to be weaned. If I think about, he latches on and refuses to move for days. I was trying to count and I think we still have 5 nursing sessions a day and he drinks milk with meals.

Age: 14 months tomorrow Height/Weight: He was 30” at his 1 year appointment. Weight: He was 12.6 kilos, which 27 lbs when he was weighed fully dressed including a little coat the other day. New skills: He is on the verge of starting to stand independently. He has finally started walking when pushing toys, so I think he will be walking soon. Likes/Dislikes: He loves to eat...almost everything. He is the complete opposite of DS1 in the eating department. He loves going for walks and being outside. He gets upset when we have to go inside. He likes playing with cars and dogs. He dislikes me dropping him off at daycare in the morning but has been getting more comfortable with it the last week. Rants/Raves: He got his ear tubes the other day, so I hope we will have less ear infections. He is a snot factory...I am wondering if he has seasonal allergies because lately his nose runs the most after being outside. He is such a happy boy. He loves to “talk” to people. Also he is a good sleeper he takes at least a 2 hour nap almost everyday with very minimal fussing and he sleeps through the night most nights. QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? We dropped bottles more than a month ago. Daycare started giving him straw cups around 11 months and he loved them. We basically just quit cold turkey. Our daycare has a policy of no bottles after 1 so it was just easier to be consistent at home and daycare. Read more: howeverithappened.proboards.com/thread/25756/year-check#ixzz5mymrvYV8

Age: 13 months Height/Weight: 20 lb 12 oz, 30.5” at his checkup last month New skills: He learned how to stand up without pulling up on Easter. His balance is getting a lot better when he walks, so he’s not falling as much. He has about four words right now...can say, Mama, Dada, baby, and Kitty. Likes/Dislikes: He loves cats! He always beeline towards my cats if they get brave enough to go anywhere he can see them. He also loves to empty wet wipes and tissue containers. If there is a unattended container within his reach, he’ll move as fast as his little legs can carry him to get it. He absolutely hates sitting in the car if it’s not moving, which makes picking DD up from school in the carline suck. QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Yes, he’s drinking wcm in sippy cups now. He’s still super picky about which silly cups he’ll drink out of...only wants to use Nuk soft spout.

Age: 14 mth on Monday Height/Weight: uhhh... she was 19lb 14oz at her one year. But now... I have no idea. New skills: today started saying “hi” she also says “mama” “dada” and babbles like crazy. She recently learned how to back herself down the stairs and likes to go exploring around the house when I’m distracted. No walking yet, though she’s getting stronger all the time. Her big brother was a late walker too - it has its perks. Likes/Dislikes: she likes knocking things off tables, pulling things out of drawers and then sitting in them. She’s basically a cat. She loves food and often out-eats her 3 year old brother. Dislikes - me trying to see new teeth, or prying whatever she has shoved in her mouth out of it. Otherwise, she’s a pretty happy little girl. Rants/Raves: she was sleeping through the night for a good stretch there but seems to have fallen back to waking up once. She’s dropped all but morning and bedtime nursing, but even then she’s horribly distracted. QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? She didn’t have too many bottles, just if I had to leave for a few hours, but I would put wcm in her bottle when we transitioned to it. Now she’s figured out the sippy cups and I’m slowly getting rid of the bottles. Per leatherpants request:

Wow enough people have mentioned walking or running in the last month I was assuming everyone but DS was walking already. But reading through its only a little over half in this thread that are really walking. Guess DS isn't as slow as I thought lol. When I started reading through I started thinking he might be bigger and that was why. But calendula and woodenshoes have similar sized babies.

Age:14 months this week
Height/Weight:32"/26.2 lbs
New skills: climbing, crawling up stairs, pulling up to standing everywhere, walking along furniture or pushing something.
Likes/Dislikes:he loves both DH and I but it's so exciting when DH comes home or upstairs from sleeping, he scoots as far as he can to him and then is so sad when DH has to go shower. Loves eating and going outside to see the dog and watch me work in the yard. Loves people and all the attention he gets in town or at church. Dislikes hearing doors shut without him.
Rants/Raves: His hair is finally growing! His giggle when we play with him just rolls out so easily and endlessly and it's the best. 😍
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? I guess he's weaned now. He was only nursing in the morning for the last month, but he wasn't always that interested and idk if he was even getting anything anymore. When we were out of town this weekend I just never bothered. I will miss the cuddles for sure.

Age: 12 mo Height/Weight: 29 in, 20 lbs New skills: dancing, waving and saying bye Likes/Dislikes: loves to eat, always dancing, still loves baths. Hates sleep. Rants/Raves: she’s got, no exaggeration, six teeth trying to come through. I can’t deal. She won’t sleep, she’s whiny and clingy!!
QOTD: have you dropped bottles? Any plans or recs you’d like to share? This baby will not stop nursing. I was going to try to gradually drop feeds but fuuuuck. She is not having it.

Age: 13m tomorrow! Height/Weight: 20lb 7 oz and 28.5 inches at her year well New skills: she thinks she can run. She walks SUPER FAST, And loves to try and escape through the gate when it’s opened. Likes/Dislikes: hates when I put her down. Loves all food. Loves playing with her brothers and sister and enjoys finding the Tiniest thing on the floor to stick in her mouth. She loves nursing. Rants/Raves: her latch is quite poor sometimes but other than that she’s such a calm kid. I’m super blessed that #4 has been EASY.
We dropped bottles a bit a go. If I leave before nursing her in the AM DH will give her a bottle. But it’s super rare and prob just out of habit right now. She nurses whenever she asks: so basically anytime I sit down. I don’t mind too much though bc it’s going to end and I’ll miss it.
