Thanks. He did pretty well, he didn’t want to get put down but not too upset. But I definitely got to bed later than I wanted.

I go back to work on Tuesday. Can't believe how fast this maternity leave has gone! (Not sure if it's because I had two times the amount of babies this time, or if it's because I know it's my last maternity leave ever.) The boys are 8 weeks as of today! good luck! hope Tuesday morning goes smoothly. I know for me the first day back... I always have a feeling of being overwhelmed with information and sort feel like what am i doing back here? do I still know how to do this job?

Happy mother’s day!
My gift to myself was handing N off this morning after I fed her and going back to bed. I usually get up after the 7am feeding, but the dreary overcast weather told me to go back to bed. It was delightful.

Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
TW - Previous Losses Mentioned
I’ll admit it was a bit...strange/bittersweet for me today. I have waited for years to be a mom. I’ve had 2 losses. Technically I was a mom last Mother’s Day, but to an angel baby. I am SO thankful for my sweet rainbow, but I do miss my other 2 babies. I’m so happy and still sad at the same time. It’s a weird mix of emotions.

MH thinks it’s silly (he is supportive just not emotional etc) but he thinks it’s silly that I think of those babies. They were all early losses but one in particular I think about a lot.

Hugs orangehibiscus, nmom, and anyone else that struggled with mother's day. It is always so hard for me after losing my mom (this is my second one after she passed). It's difficult to see all of my friends posting pics with their moms and kids. I SO wish she could meet these twins. snickerdoodle, hope you had a good night solo. I get the anxiety, my H has a bowling tournament party this Thursday and it will be my first attempt to do solo bedtime with all 3 kids. I told him there might be some tears as kids will need to wait sometimes while I am helping others but it'll be ok! And if not I'll have a big glass of wine after, lol.

Ok. So yes, today was my first day back at work. H stayed home with the twins, DD went to daycare, and I went to the morning half of my committee meeting at work today. Left during lunch hour to meet H and the boys at the pediatrician's office. Long story short, even though the ER doc listed bronchiolitis as the diagnosis, she apparently told the pediatrician last night (ours happened to be on call), that she didn't think it was bronchiolitis. So none of us are sure why exactly she put it in the system as an official diagnosis. Pediatrician checked out both boys, and it's just normal breathing for them- they have purely nasal congestion (none of it has hit the chest all the times they've been checked), and a slight case of laryngomalacia (which they said is common in slightly pre-term babies). So, part of it was daycare freaking out (she thought he may have been aspirating on formula and/or RSV, and she's going to have to get used to their normal. Tomorrow is the first day all three kiddos are with her. I'm glad she's looking out for them, but hoping that we don't have too many calls to get them picked up- She only ever called once to get DD early and that day she was absolutely miserable.

grover I’m glad it wasn’t as bad as ER thought and hope they are feeling better soon! Eames I hope Thursday goes well for you. It was tough be we survived. There were a good amount of tears. DD is not used to not having all the attention at bed time. Hugs about your mom.

What does everyone’s baby(ies) sleep in? DS is now sleeping in his crib and he wears a long sleeve onesie with a SwaddleMe POD over (a zip up sleep suit....not a swaddle but geared towards premie/small newborns.). He is very squirmy and seems to be trying to bust himself out of it so that he can get his hands up by his face. I sort of want to try an arms-out sleep sack but I’m not sure if he will feel secure enough in it....

I have her in long sleeve sleepers and an currenlty using the miracle swaddle blanket. She fights it sometimes too, but has been getting more used to it. When it’s nap time now, she’ll be fussy until I get her swaddled. You could try the Love to Dream swaddle. It helps with the startle reflex, but allows hands near the face. Only downside is if they chew on their hands, the fabric is cold and wet.

You can swaddle them one or both arms out with it so I like them because that's how we transitioned E away from a swaddle. They're still wrapped up tight around their torso but can move their arms around that way. H is still swaddled arms in though.

I don’t go back to work until mid August. I was really hoping that being home with two kids would be a lot and make me want to go back to work. I know, silly, but then I wouldn’t dread the inevitable. But I love being home 😞 if I quit my job I would never get it back I’m grandfathered in and they’ve done away with my position. I would have to go get my masters to do something like what I’m doing now and it just doesn’t pay well enough to make my masters worth it (good ol’ governemt pay and education field) I have been doing so great with my anxiety but I have a feeling this is going to creep up on me. Maybe some of it is just my feels on having two kids. I was starting to tell myself last year we were only going to have DD and trying to talk myself into that. So now I’m just over the moon and in love with having two.
TW maybe? My grandma on the phone yesterday goes “next time around you need to not wait four years in between” thankfully I was home alone with the kids so it made me keep my crap together but I lost it when MH came home. So inconsiderate, I said sorry... I totally planned on having three losses 🙄 wth.
Okay end rant/ continuing on with my feels.

nmom I'm so sorry they hurt your feelings. I had sooo many people asking about when we would have kids when I had my losses. It's like. I'm trying ok. I don't care if it's immediate family. They do not need to be all up in my vagina.

Now that she’s getting older and may be close to rolling over, we’re swaddling her looser and working on swaddling with her arms out. She sleeps in her cradle at night and naps in her PNP or crib during the day
