Aaaaand I’m like 90% sure Caleb’s got a tooth popping through! Kid is just determined to do everything ahead of schedule.

Happy Mother's Day! Caleb gifted me with a sleepless night and the tooth definitely popped through. Other than that, I had a really nice day

DD started army crawling last week and today her first tooth is just starting to come through! I welcome her being interested in 'crawling' around and exploring, because it's allowing me to actually put her down without her crying.

Dd is starting to army crawl too. She cries more now though because she's mad she can't get to where she wants to go as easily as she wants to be able to. She's started clapping her hands all the time which is so cute! In the middle of the night she'll wake up, sit up and just start clapping 😂
Dd1 on the other hand has been a total beast lately. She's falling asleep later and later and waking up at the ass crack of dawn and then waking dd2 up too. My patience for her is wearing very thin. She is so over tired, but I don't know how to get her to fall asleep earlier or sleep in later. I'm so fricken tired from getting up at 5am almost every morning.

DS2 managed to go from sitting to on his belly (in a controlled manner - no face plant), then back to sitting this morning!!
But now he's refusing to nap so it's been a mixed morning!

Yay!! I got to the drive in theatre last night!! I had to take the the little guy with me though. He did great. I was so tired though. It was 9-12. Also, I totally killed my battery and needed a jump. Whoopsie! The things we do as parents. Lol!

Rough day parenting today. DD had an incident that really made me feel disappointed and a little embarrassed (I know it won't be the last). But it was upsetting. She was playing with two older girls and then a friend of ours came with her son, whom she knows and he was wearing pink water shoes. The older girls started to ask if he was a girl and DD then joined in laughing and said he was a girl. It broke my heart for our friend and her son. So many of our friends wear whatever they want and have hair however they want too so it was sad to see my DD do that. It sparked a lot of conversation though. I hate that she felt she had to join along with those girls.
Then DS has been getting into EVeRYTHiNG!! He is pulling up on everything around him or crying until he can stand up on something. This is an issue in our house because it's real tile and hardwood. I have a foam padding area in the one corner but he won't stay there. He keeps falling and I can't get anything done if I sit with him 24/7. Well tonight he went head first into the corner of the train table. His forehead had the indent of the corner for a bit then swelled up like a goose egg. It's so fucking hard with this age. Don't even get me started on diaper changes.
I'm hoping for an easier tomorrow.

P is starting to really move around. She’s really starting to get some leverage and launch herself forward. She is also getting much more stable at sitting.
I know I shouldn’t compare kids but I feel looking at pictures that M had all of this stuff down by now.
M has had ear tubes since she was 11 months, so 3 years now. One fell out in Feb after the worst ear infection ever. She still has fluid in that ear that has healed. Today we had a hearing test that fell outside of the normal range. So we need to give her nose spray for the next month and get rechecked. Her ENT said if there is still fluid we will need to retube since it’s affecting hearing.

And I woke up to my good friend texting from the hospital. She was in an awful accident that killed the guy who hit her and she is 7 months pregnant and 4 year old was in the car. I hate feeling so helpless.

pixiepink24 omg how scary, I hope your friend and her child are ok! DD has been really obsessed with gender recently and how she only wants things that are "for girls" and it drives me up a wall! She picked out a sailor moon blind bag toy the other day when out with MH and she got the one boy character of course and freaked out because she was a girl and should only have the girl toy. I think part of it is just the age, they're learning how to categorize things and everything is black and white to them. It's our job to work on teaching them that there is more than black and white and we shouldn't put people in boxes. Of course it's harder when their peers aren't taught the same things. The other day we were at a neighbor's house and DD was playing dress-up with their daughter and the other girl put on a Rainbow Dash costume and the stepdad commented "what are you, a gay unicorn?" UGH.

pixiepink24 - Hugs for the rough day yesterday. Sounds like you did a great job turning it into a conversation with your DD. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope she, baby, and kiddo are doing ok. akwild - Sorry to hear about the hearing test. Hope the spray works wonders and you can avoid retubing. WTF to that dad Dramaphile?

I know I shouldn’t compare kids but I feel looking at pictures that M had all of this stuff down by now. I try not to compare too but dd1 was definitely ahead of dd2 with pretty much everything. I try to remind myself that all kids do things in their own time but it still worries me sometimes.

In regards to comparing kids - I know for sure DS1 was standing leaning up against the back of the couch a good month earlier than DS2. Well, DS2 is 60-something% for weight where DS1 was single digits %. It's probably going to take longer to pick yourself up when you're twice the size. I haven't looked up when DS1 started crawling, but I wouldn't be surprised if my chunker DS2 is behind big brother on that too for the same reason.

Nymeria I know! Luckily DD didn't seem to register it, but I didn't really know what to say and just sort of left it. Luckily DD's preschool is super progressive and we have gay friends she sees frequently, so she isn't exposed to that much.

pixiepink24 I hope your friends are ok. M has been calling things for girls and boys too. I’m trying to say that everything is for everyone but she just kinda looks at me and keeps on.

DH and I had our first night out last night since dd2 was born. It was so nice to get out, we went to a huge fundraiser for our food bank and they had tons of local restaurants and breweries/wineries where you could try a little bit of whatever they were serving from each place. When we got home dd2 was not happy though since she still won't really drink from anything so she was starving.

My sister had her baby yesterday and dd1 and I just got to visit her. It's so crazy how tiny she is, she felt SO light when I held her.

I think both bottom teeth may actually be coming in finally. Sleep has been shit this week, even with Motrin a couple nights, and I think I finally feel actual teeth ridges under his gums.
So after all my MIL drama last week, DS2 is signed up and ready to start daycare 3 days a week on Monday. It's the same place DS1 goes, but he didn't start until 15 months so I'm getting nervous sending my 8 month old. It's basically a miracle I was able to get the health assessment and immunization records from the pediatrician, the health care plan and authorization for medication from the allergist, and an extra set of Auvi-Q injectors to leave at daycare all in 4 days.

I am so so tired. What I thought was just teething discomfort turned into sick baby yesterday when he had a rough night and woke up Sunday morning with a 101.5 fever. Thought it looked like an ear infection, so I took him to urgent care, but they said no ear infection, just a virus. Then DD crawled into bed with me pretty early in the night and tossed and turned all night. This morning, she told MH she doesn't feel good so he's keeping her home from school. Hopefully whatever it is passes quickly! In the meantime, I need so much more coffee...

We went to an indoor pool party yesterday! It was so fun! DS seems to be loving water. We also had our first blood incident. He was standing at the train table and busted his mouth on the side. Luckily it stopped bleeding a few seconds later. This kid is way crazier than his big sister and I thought she was bad. Lol!
