Week/EDD: 35+3, 5/10
Baby is the size of: kids backpack
FTM, Etc: TTM, DS 2, DD 4
Team: green
Appointments: Thursday. Appointments every week now.
Milestones: in 2 days it will be a month to my due date!
Symptoms: So, so physically tired, heartburn, movement, hip hurts, waddling
Rants: My left hip is killing me whenever I first get up. Stretching does not seem to help. I have no energy at all, I feel like a bump on a log. Apparently my UTI from earlier in the pregnancy was from GBS, so I have to get antibiotics in an IV during labor. I JUST read an article about how getting an IV during labor can cause water retention in baby, so baby weighs more when they come out than they would without the IV, which messes with birth weight, which can make it harder to get back to birth weight, and can mean a push for formula (not against formula, but hope to breastfeed). I am really good at finding things to worry about. Plus, I HATE needles, and being attached to an IV, it just creeps me out.
Raves: I had an ultrasound last week since baby was measuring small when they did the belly tape measure thing the week before. Baby and placenta looked good, and baby was measuring in the 33% so small, but good.

Week/EDD: 29w4d / June 20
Baby is the size of: pineapple
FTM, Etc: stm
Team: blue
Appointments: next one is April 17th
Milestones:
Symptoms: I’m huge and peeing all the time.
Rants: Not much currently. I’m now stressing about childcare for when I go into labor, but I’m sure it’ll work out. I have a friend willing to help out, I’m just weird about accepting help.
Raves: I have the baby’s room and all the infant stuff up from the basement and mostly cleaned up. We have a plan for the most part of where it’ll all go. I’m still trying to decide if I set up the crib or not— baby will be around 4 months when we likely make our move across the country.

Week/EDD: 31+4, due 6/6
Baby is the size of: a coconut
FTM, Etc: FTM
Team: 💙
Appointments: OB on Friday
Milestones: getting closer!
Symptoms: the usual, back pain, trouble sleeping, eczema is acting up
Rants: apparently I should have scheduled our hospital tour earlier, since the soonest they had openings was May 13. I’m not too worried, since I’ll be 36 weeks and family history says first babies come pretty late. But still, I would have liked to do it earlier.
Raves: H and I had a really good weekend! We got lots of housework done, washed all the baby clothes we got at the consignment sale, and even had a nice walk since the weather was so nice.

courtniko, I’m sorry you have to deal with the IV antibiotics. I’d probably stress about that some too! mamabear02, that’s great that you’ve finally been able to get the baby stuff ready!

bonzo, we are doing our hospital tour tonight, and I am 35+3, so 36 is not that much later. You should be fine!

Hmmm hospital tours, I hadn’t even thought of that this time. Is there any reason to do one if I am giving birth at the same hospital as my first?

mamabear02, I totally get the stressing about child care, and hating to ask for help. My parents get here a week before my due date, so if I go earlier than that we will have to ask friends. We have had 2 friends volunteer, but both have kids and work full time, so I will feel super guilty if we have to use them. We are taking both kids on the hospital your tonight from 7 to 8 (so super late too) because I did not want to inconvenience anyone. It will probably be annoying to others on the tour, so I feel bad about that. Hopefully both kids behave...

Week/EDD: 35+4. May 9
Baby is the size of: a bunch of carrots
STM
Team green
Appointments: today. Got the GBS swab out of the way
Milestones: getting so close to term!
Symptoms: nothing new. Acid reflux is driving me crazy still and I'm so tired of Tums lol.
Rants: I'm so done with work. I have no clue how I'm going to make it three more weeks.
Raves: We went away to our inlaws over the weekend and it was so nice. I didn't have to cook or clean or do laundry for three days, we had lots of delicious food, DD was preoccupied playing with her cousins, and I got to sleep in past 9 every morning. I feel like a new person!

I don’t want to ask anyone to watch ds and I also don’t want to take him. I hope your kiddos behave for you tonight!

courtniko, I had GBS last time around and probably will this time too, the IV wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'd never had one before, but it didn't bother me too much. And DS didn't have any water retention issues, he met his weights fine and BF just fine as well. I totally get finding things to worry about though! I was more annoyed by the idea of the catheter for a CS.

Week/EDD: 33w 2d
Baby is the size of: Pineapple
FTM, Etc: STM
Team: Blue
Appointments: Next Tuesday
Milestones: Someone asked if I was overdue. And I'm officially waddling.
Symptoms: Back pain, heartburn, peeing all the time and the baby is pushing on everything.
Rants: I need to ask my Dr about birth options if I start having high blood pressure. And if DS2 needs an ECG when he's born like DS1, I can't remember if he had that because of the calcium deposits in his heart, or looking for WPW. (DH has Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome)
Raves: Getting closer to when I feel like I want to start washing baby clothes and setting up the bassinet.

Week/EDD: 32 + 1 - June 3 Baby is the size of: a Florida Pomelo FTM, Etc: FTM Team: pink Appointments: ultrasound tomorrow to check her size! Milestones: n/a Symptoms: trouble sleeping and my heartburn is increasing. I still have some sciatic pain in my left side as well and ankle swelling! Rants: I have felt like garbage since last Friday. I was throwing up and had other stomach issues all day, was ok Saturday but then since Sunday I still have nausea and stomach problems. Raves: My shower was last weekend and we ended up getting a lot of stuff, which is so nice. Eliminated a lot of stuff we need to buy, so that’s a stress relief for sure! Not really a rave, but we started our first prenatal class on Monday. It was actually kind of fun and we seem to have a really good class! bonzo I tried to book a hospital tour, but apparently they stopped doing them in person here and they are done virtually. 😐 so we don’t actually get to see the hospital rooms until we are in them.

@bonnieparker, that’s too bad that they don’t do in person tours anymore! I’m glad you like your prenatal class though!

Week/EDD: 28 (tomorrow); July 4th
Baby is the size of:
FTM, Etc: TTM
Team: Green
Appointments: not until next week
Milestones:
Symptoms: Heartburn, reflux, starting to pee a lot at night again.
Rants: Woke up in the middle of the night choking from reflux Monday night and this morning with a bad headache - likely from the seasons changing from spring back to winter.
Raves: Since I slept like crap Monday and my stomach was still bothering me yesterday I called in sick to work - which may have been more of a mental health day than anything. I tackled dishes, laundry, some organization and finally did our taxes. I also made a kick ass dinner and then sat in the chair and read for a while (because by then my body told me I'd done too much).

I asked for the anesthesiologists to place my IV because I wasn’t messing around. I had a 9lb 5oz baby and only had the IV in for 6 hours of my 41 hour labor. She was back to birth weight in less than a week.
