So let’s start a fresh thread?
MAY IT BRING SLEEPY VIBES TO ALL BABIES WITH IT.
I’m excited for a month of celebrations - we’ve got birthdays, anniversaries, Easter, outdoor activities starting back up. I just want to open every window in my house and air the whole damn thing out. I hate the end of winter so much. It’s nothing but pediatrician visits and confusing weather anyways. Good riddance.

It’s pouring rain here so we are doing inside things. We are set to move the first week of May and I am having all the feels about leaving our current house. I’m really hoping there’s enough storage and cupboards for all the stuff. It’s a bigger house, there has to be right?? Dh is convinced it’s not going to work which has me worried. Ds isn’t Sttn anymore which is exhausting. He stands up in his crib and can’t sit down. He’s also a very fussy eater which is new to me and I do t really know what to do. Apparently he can exist on bananas and cheese sticks.

L is on cold 761. He is doing better today than he was yesterday. He is supposed to get his 1 year old shots on Monday. We had to reschedule from a month ago because he was sick at his 1 year appointment. I really hope he is better on Monday and does not have another ear infection so he can get the vaccinations.
Not much is happening this weekend. I am at my parent’s house. Husband is working. He said that he feels sick.
My brothers family was in town for a couple days. One of my cousins passed away last Friday after a 2 year battle with breast cancer, so they came for the visitation (there is not going to be a funeral). DS1 always gets sad when they leave because he misses his cousins.

N had her vaccines yesterday and has had no fever or anything, so I'm pleased.
We're working on packing today. It's crunch time and I'm starting to feel stressed.

I have the windows open at the house and I’m really kicking myself for not planning O’s party for today! I think the high for actual party day is only like 50😒 I’m sorry for your loss woodenshoes.

We are one my friend. I keep opening and closing windows because it’s still too cold out. I’d happily freeze myself out for airing the house out but the other humans here all complain.

Trying to decide if I need to reschedule o’s appointment to be after his party instead of the day before😳 We had 3 too and B was a nightmare for a few days after. The nurse specifically told me not to plan his bday party for right after his shots lol. So if you can reschedule, the nurse at the vaccination clinic here would encourage you to.

Trying to decide if I need to reschedule o’s appointment to be after his party instead of the day before😳 We had 4 (Hep A, Prevnar, MMR, varicella) plus a blood draw to test for lead and anemia. He was quite angry at the time and definitely sleepy the next day, but not extra fussy IIRC.

We opened the windows today too and it was amazing. My parents and brother are visiting for the weekend. My dad is incapable of relaxing so he and H replaced something in my car and then cleaned out our shed and built some new shelves in there, so that was nice.
L had fun playing outside. He’ll walk and sit in the grass but he will not put his hands down on the grass to crawl. Oh yeah, he’s walking! He’s been doing a few steps between things, but on Thursday he just took off. His little steps are adorable.

We had three shots but MoTY I can’t remember what they all were. I think pneumococcal MMR and varicella? But not sure. I know they changed our schedule recently so it doesn’t match what’s printed in his hospital book thing. I’m sorry for your loss woodenshoes

dd2 was up 3x last night. i really need this tooth to pop through. she has been uncharacteristically crabby and i’m not a fan. i’m hoping this won’t be the pattern for all teeth because this is only the 3rd one.
we had a pretty lazy saturday which was definitely needed after the last couple of weeks of illness and long work hours for h. i even got to go to lunch without kids with gfs i haven’t seen since november. we are headed to breakfast at my moms this morning then i need to catch up on cleaning because i have been letting too much slice and it’s starting to get to me.

Interesting how the vaccines are all slightly different. We had pneumococcal, meningococcal, and MMR-Var (combined), but no hepatitis.

And we only had two: MMR and varicella. Odd.
I don't think number of shots matters with the crankiness thing though. One flu shot always knocked DS out way more than the combined vaccinations did. Its so child dependent.
Anyway I'm ready for spring too. We spent the entire weekend outside and it was great! Played kickball and catch with DS for hours. DD used her walker and bombed around the patio, took lots of steps independently on the grass, and enjoyed her baby swing on the swingset. Lots of fun.

Not baby related: I have two friends getting married this year. Both were in my wedding almost 10yrs ago. We’re still kind of close but “FaceTime session every few months” vs “constant texts” close. I was invited to their bachelorettes, showers, and weddings. All are at least a plane ride away, one event would require major international travel. With two kids in DC and three other family weddings this year, I am maxed out in terms of earmarked PTO and extra funds. I am not attending any of the events. Can I just send bottles of champagne (or Venmo some one attending the Bach) and smaller wedding presents?

J had his one year appointment today. He’s 20 lbs 12 oz and 30.5 inches long. Had 2 shots. I also think I’ve finally found a sippy cup that he’ll use. Now I just need to go back to the store to get a few more.
