Rant ahead.
My MIL posted a pic from our wedding on FB today. One of her friends commented on how old DH and I are now, how nice. In response to that MIL announced our pregnancy (we have kept it off FB on purpose, and told her she could not post about it till we did).
I really hate that she thinks doing stuff like that is ok. It is just so important for her to get attention, that she can ignore our wishes. I know it was totally wrong of her, but I also am more sad about it than I should be.

courtniko, long wow, I'm so sorry she did that. I know it's hard for parents to hold off telling everything, but to drop it on social media when you've told them not to is... wow.

courtniko, I’m sorry your MIL did that. Some people have no boundaries when it comes to social media.

I had my last appointment with my doctor this morning and everything looked good. So we are all set for my c section next Thursday. By this time next week the baby should be here! I'm also officially on my maternity leave now from work so I'm going to try to get as much rest as possible this next week.

bonzo We didn't do newborn pics. My favourites are ones that my mom took right after I got out of surgery and the ones I have taken of DD myself over the years. Maybe because I feel more of an emotional connection to them. But I love seeing other people's professional pics. They are always so beautifully done!

I’m so relieved, my mil just verified she is going to come stay with us for a couple weeks. She will get here the day before my due date, so hopefully he follows in big bros footsteps and is a little late. A local friend has also said she would help out with DS if needed, but she has her own kids to take care of so I feel better if we don’t need her help. Either way, it’s nice to know we will also have help in those first few weeks.

Glad to hear it mamabear02! My parents get here in 3 days, and I will be able to relax a bit once they are here.

I am a food black hole. I can't stop eating. In fact, if I go more than 4 hours without food, I start to get the shakes, I get nauseous, I start to sweat and get light headed. It's getting really hard to keep my eating healthy, especially when I don't have the energy to cook. I really need to detox from sugar after all the Easter candy.

I’ve been drinking protein shakes, especially in the middle of the night. I’ve been doing it because I have GD but I’m sure it could help you.

onesweetworld, I might have to try that. I have a huge craving for sweets and those might help me curb the sweet tooth and feel full, without the sugars and calories. Thank you!

I’ve been drinking the Premiere Protein ones. I just mixed a caramel and chocolate tonight and it was really good! (The caramel is too sweet for me straight)

It's getting really hard to keep my eating healthy, especially when I don't have the energy to cook. I really need to detox from sugar after all the Easter candy. I eat pretty much every 2-3 hours while awake (I do this even when not pregnant). I try to keep fruits and veggies that are easy to eat on hand (bananas, apples, strawberries, grapes, cucumbers, and carrots). I also find that if I wait longer, I make choices that aren’t as healthy. I’m certainly not the picture of health at this point and have gained more than I should, just as a disclaimer. Also, I second the premier protein shakes!

Premier protein shakes have been a lifesaver for me this pregnancy, especially with the GD. I get them at Costco though, so I have only had the chocolate (they have vanilla, but not interested in that). The Carmel mixed with chocolate sounds really tasty!

Newborn photos - did you do them? I like the more lifestyle ones, not so much the extra posey ones, so should I rely on family to capture those moments or will I regret not hiring a photographer? The hospital does have photographers who will come in during the first day, and then you can buy the images online, so I’m thinking more the in-home type thing. I did them with E and have them scheduled with this one. Usually they do them between 1-3 weeks old and mostly at your home. I loved E’s and I’m glad we did them. We just took snapshots in the hospital.

I got the chocolate, strawberry, and caramel at Walmart. They only come in 4 packs but I was just trying them out. I will probably go to BJs now and see if I can get the chocolate in bulk. I’m also team no vanilla 😂

With my first we did both the hospital (Bellababy) photos and newborn photos at 10 days old. The hospital photos we only bought the digital rights and it was approximately $250. My photographer only charges $100 per session so the newborn photos with her at 10 days old were worth it for sure. We will be doing the same thing this time. Bella baby in the hospital (grandma buys) and then family photos/newborn with the photographer.
