We try to have someone sitting with DS whenever he has an actual dish, because the second he's done it gets flipped over his head. Little shit. SD has developed really great reflexes and catches 95% of the plates/cups/whatever that gets tossed. I have no ideas for actually preventing it. Has anyone tried suction mats or plates? The Munchkin suction bowls aren't bad, but we haven't tried anything else.

I need to vent. And don’t know where to do it. I have two childless supervisors. I don’t know their personal lives, They are both senior citizens. One emails me about a 8 hour work shop in June; (I’m due in May)And says. I know you will be busy playing with your baby, but if your interested... Maternity leave is not a vacation to play with your newborn! It’s a 3 month leave to have a nervous breakdown without an audience some days. Not wear a shirt and learn to survive. And some cuddles... the other supervisor keeps asking me if “I feel like I will go into labor early? “ to figure out my last day. how many times can I tell someone that’s not this works ? Ugh, that is annoying, I'm sorry.

I'm getting a pillow for J for Easter. I am a little nervous about it but he's been so into pillows on our bed lately and has been asking to use it in the crib. I think he will be so excited to have his own. He'll be two in May - he can have a pillow right?

He doesn't cuddle with loveys or his security blanket, but he loves cuddling his "puh-poh" in bed.

I’ll try to find the link to the one I got DS1 when he was about 2.5.

lupincat, that looks similar to the one I got. I was looking at the flatter one like the IKEA one gingy got but I thought he would like one that is closer to our pillows.

Recently My DD will request a food. And immediately dump it on the floor. And I would like that to stop now. What do I even do about that? Just about 20 months old. We have a tray for DS2's booster and he eats on that, no plate. Everytime I give him a plate he ends up sliding it all over til it hits the floor. I can't wait til he's past this stage.

So my boss at my old job did something similar. At 5 weeks he texted asking if I could do some part time stuff. So me being the petty ass bitch I am, went and visited the office with my newborn. Who of course proceeded to scream her fucking head off the entire time were there. We only stayed about an hour but it was long enough for him to text me the next day and say that I clearly have my hands full and he will find someone else to do the work. I swear that was the only way for him to get it through his thick skull that I wasn't on vacation and that I was just trying to survive.

piratecat, how is J doing with the mini cookie cutters? Trying anything new? DS hasn't actually eaten any new veggies, but he's tasted some he wouldn't otherwise. I did discover that if I cut a cheese quesadilla into bunnies, he will eat 57 of them. Will not touch a regular triangle quesadilla. I'll take it.

We've been out of town a lot so I've only tried it a few times. I also cut cheese quesadillas into bunnies and he definitely ate a lot of those - I didn't count though, haha! He's taken a few small bites of things like carrots (which he'll occasionally eat anyway). Or he'll take a bite of something like a cucumber bunny and spit it all out, but I figure him even trying it is better than nothing. He has also recently tried a few things here and there even without the cute shapes so I am feeling encouraged overall, although the cute foods were not nearly as magical as I had hoped.

How was everyone's Easter/Passover? I didn't grow up celebrating Easter but I had so much fun with J this year and now I am really into it! Except the Easter Bunny - I'm still pretty skeptical of that guy.

DS thought we were all crazy for making him look for eggs. He got one for each hand and was all set. B had to pick up the rest of them.
He ate a ton at brunch and was really good at the table. We just never know with him, so I was grateful for that.

notblanche did the birthday party happen already or is it still coming up? The party was 4/13! It was everything we hoped it would be. The kids had a blast and the weather was perfect, and I made a white grape peach rose sangria that the adults loved, too. The only thing I didn't do was take any pictures; not a single one lol. We had our family photographers there, though, and I hope we'll get to see those soon.

Except the Easter Bunny - I'm still pretty skeptical of that guy. I made a traditional ham dinner Saturday night and we went to our favorite brunch buffet yesterday - that's about as much Easter celebrating as I can handle. At brunch the Easter bunny was there, walking around and giving kids eggs, but he ignored us. Womp. I asked Mh on the way home, "Why? Do you think he knew we don't Easter?" M kept saying, "Mama! Mama it's a rabbit!"

On Sunday he opened each one and ate the treats and then said "more eggs?" every time.

DS1 and H went out of town for the long weekend so I was actually happy that I didn't have to do an easter basket or eggs or anything for DS2 😂
H dis take a basket and some eggs for DS1 so he was surprised there which was cute.

We don’t really celebrate Easter. The Easter bunny is creepy and both my kids hate him. However, I feel the pressure from daycare to at least do something, so they get books in their baskets 😂

We did a small hunt with candy/pretzel fishies in a trail to the basket inside and then another one outside to her new bike. She was super excited about the whole thing and spent all day yesterday hiding eggs so we could find them, which was adorable.

She was super excited about the whole thing and spent all day yesterday hiding eggs so we could find them, which was adorable. How does she like her new bike? It took a little bit. She was like "yay a new bike!" but then since its an actual balance bike and it's not steady it turned to "i don't want to do this right now" but then mh got her to try it a little bit and she seemed to like it more. Yesterday before dropoff she was "balancing my bike, mommy" so we'll see how it goes this weekend if it's not raining. we need to get her a new helmet anyways so for now she's only using it inside right now.

The seders are always exhausting and overwhelming for my SIL and I as we try to keep our kids entertained and out of trouble, but I love being with family and my kids getting to experience it. Passover is going really well so far - my oldest even had a birthday party to go to last night which is THE WORST during Passover, but he happily munched his matzah pizza and flourless chocolate torte I brought him while his friends had pizza and cake.
Easter was awesome this year, not being at the inlaws. My kids actually had food to eat!!! I made Passover friendly pancakes, muffins, and rolls and a crustless quiche, plus fruit salad. And for dinner I made truffled rack of lamb with roast potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Plus the flourless chocolate torte.
I tried to do a scavenger hunt with the Easter baskets, since it's the first year we haven't been in a hotel, but the kids found their baskets before they even saw the first clue. They did love following the clues after though.
We did an egg hunt at home and at a friend's house, so my kids are stocked up on candy for the next year.

Long time no post! A turned 2 a month ago and transitioned seamlessly to her toddler bed in January. She's currently battling strep throat.
I had twin boys 6 weeks ago! Life is crazy and the transition from 1-3 is interesting!

I caught myself crying at random times last week about it. The 2nd birthday hit me way worse than the 1st (same happened with DS1, too).
