Thanks again all! She’s doin okay today. We followed up with her primary pediatrician and it has been diagnosed as erythema multiforme. It’s most likely a reaction to the amoxicillin combined with the flu virus that was in her system. She vomited, became lethargic, racing heart and her hives started to look bruised. This is the pic my sitter sent me before the ambulance arrived. If anyone has ever dealt with this or know someone who has please let me know. Would love some feedback.

watermelonseed amoxicillin rash has come up a number of times recently on one of my BMBs. Usually presents on day 3-10 after starting the drug. Usually got worse within the 1-2 days after presenting, even when amoxicillin was discontinued. There was some debate on people whose kids experienced it as to whether it was a true allergy or not. One specific parent whose kid was hospitalized for it was given a prescription antihistamine, the rest used Benadryl. Someone shared this article if it helps. www.portlandpediatric.com/panw-blog/health-news/rashes-on-amoxicillin-when-is-it-a-true-allergyETA: the one whose kid was hospitalized was told to bring her to the hospital if the rash turned purple, which it obviously did.

@peachesandcream great, thanks! Interesting read. Our ped did mention they could not truly confirm an actual allergy until testing. Which wouldn’t happen until she was older, totally healthy and requested it. I’m a little torn, but neither of my girls will be getting anything in the penicillin family for now for sure.

H has a pretty severe amoxicillin allergy that they discovered when he was a baby. His mom said they told her to never give it to him again. I guess amoxicillin allergies are pretty common.

I know there is a thread over on GD about it but I don't really frequent over there....the RNP recall. I'm kind of all mentally torn up over it. It saved my sanity and we did not use it after the kids showed signs of rolling soon (really I'd say we stopped well before then with DD at least) but if I had a new baby now would I use it? I just don't know. DS was a reflux baby and poor sleeper (still is) so I don't know what we would have done without it for him. DD was easier but still slept in it nightly for the first few weeks.

I am here with you. I'm so thankful my babies were okay. My older took to the crib so easy but Olivia had projectile reflux for so long that the RnP or the swing are what she slept in until 5mo.

I think with proper usage the risk is pretty low. Is it more dangerous to parent with 0 sleep? You have to weigh what you feel is more important and safest. If I was going I have more children, I have no intention of doing so, but if I did I would consider using it if I absolutely had to.

I'm not getting rid of mine. I don't have the original purchase receipt and I doubt I would get much if anything for it anyway. We mostly used it supervised as a place to set baby while showering, making dinner, whatever but my J18 baby slept a good stint in one at the recommendation of our ped. Also, this is FFFC worthy for sure, but I feel like 32 deaths in 8 years is not a lot 🤷♀️ absolutely it is 100% a tragedy, but I wonder how many similar products that aren't recommended for sleep but are used for it anyway have a similar track record (swings, DockATot, PNP bassinet, etc.).

IMO not flammable at all. We make risk assessment every day driving a car, crossing the street riding a bike, going to a trampoline park, even eating food (what if you choke or develop a severe allergy) Every one of those things has risk. You do what you can reasonably to mitigate the risk and live your life. So looking at the numbers makes sense to me.

I'm so over winter. Here's a picture my aunt sent me. They live about 50 miles from us and got 24 inches plus major drifting. This snow is all from this storm, theirs had melted completely already. We got 6-8 inches here. It still wore on me emotionally.

(( watermelonseed)) How is DD doing? I'll +1 as someone with a presumed penicillin allergy. I'm so tired y'all. DD is (I assume) working on cutting some (all?) of her canines. She was up every 2 hours last night. I'm exhausted to my core. At the rate we're going through Motrin at night, I should have bought stock in the company when she was born. I've also been solo parenting for the majority of the last week and I'm very much looking forward to H being home today. He's traveling again next week, so the reprieve will be short lived, but still.

I got so much stuff done today. I switched out our very heavy winter stuff, sorted through clothes and will donate whatever won’t fit next winter. I also added in the clothes that people have given us that will now fit and are weather appropriate.
Then I reorganized all of my craft stuff, filed away the random papers I needed to keep and put away three loads of laundry. I am exhausted. Lol

This little man is so funny. He spilled some of his water on the coffee table. What does he do? First he swished it around. Then he walked into the kitchen, pulled the hand towel off of the counter and went to clean up his mess. I just watched and laughed because it was so funny to me.

We went to an easter egg hunt tonight. My 15 month old listened better than my 3 year old. I barely have a voice and I was about to pull the plug before big brother got to hunt eggs. Kids man.

We have a couple of hunts this weekend (one was rained out last saturday) and I am worried this will be us. DD1 is not a good listener but maybe if I bribe her with candy or something that may help? I can always hope!

I didn’t let DS2 participate in the egg hunt last weekend. There were way too many parents involved and swarming that it looked like he would get stepped on.

Yesterday our neighbor's grandkids were over and my kids wanted to go play with them. They were playing with bubbles, so my kids wanted bubbles too. I had to rummage through a cupboard for all of one minute to find them and in that time DD3 made a beeline from the garage to the middle of the street 🤦♀️ luckily my neighbor grabbed her.
We then went over there to play with them and in the first 5 minutes DD3 tripped over the sidewalk and faceplanted and got a giant goose egg on her head. Mother of the year right here!

What are everyone's plans for Easter this year? So hard to believe last year for Easter we all had small babies and how much they've changed!

Hi everyone!! I hope it's been a good week! What are everyone's plans for Easter this year? So hard to believe last year for Easter we all had small babies and how much they've changed! We will do Easter bunny stuff at home before heading 2 hours away to my aunt's (per DS1 request). We will have lunch there and go do supper with my grandparents. It will be a marathon day and who knows if K will nap but we will see. We went to the park for the first time since K could walk. He had a BLAST! Lots of mud but it's worth the memories.

My Easter plans are in limbo. My aunt usually hosts. TW: family illness and death My aunts stepmother is dying and she isn’t sure she will make it through the weekend. I will know by Saturday morning whether or not my aunt is hosting. End TW If my aunt doesn’t host, we will go to a restaurant with my dad, stepmom, little brother, grandmother and grandmas boyfriend.

We are going to church and lunch at my parents on Easter. My grandma wants to do another family Easter on 5/5. I had fun picking out things for the baby this year for his basket that I think fit his personality.

We are going to church, having an egg hunt, and then meeting up with DH's family for a picnic. DH has a rare Sunday off so I am thrilled about that, not so thrilled about spending it with DH's family 🤣 it is supposed to be 80 here!! That's about the warmest weather we've seen since last summer/fall!
