Hugs haleyscott! I can’t imagine how those with other children do (survive) this newborn stage. Hats off to y’all! You vent here as much as you need to. Could you talk to your H about keeping up with laundry, etc more often? I hope you got some sleep grover! We’re finally doing DD’s newborn pics today, and I’m so excited! She “too old” to be doing these really - she will be 3 weeks old tomorrow), but our photographer was sick when she was the right age. I looked into other photographers, but they were either too expensive, unavailable, or they never got back to me. ILs are here and leaving Tuesday early AM. So ready for them to go home. FIL keeps making comments about how DD”texted” him about stuff, which is annoying me to no end. MIL keeps telling me about her gas and bowel movement issues. She also asked me if a restaurant had takeout. My eyes almost fell out of my head I rolled them so hard.

Thanks guys! This weekend I was able to get some stuff done around the house and that helped a lot. I feel like I’m on track to getting it all back in order.
Mh has also suggested I consider going back on anxiety medication. Not in a mean way at all, but I guess he is noticing me worrying about things that don’t really need to be worried about. I need to see what is breastfeeding friendly though.
In related news, I just rented the snoo to help with my bedtime anxiety. We’ve been using the rock n play but I panicked with the articles even though she can’t roll yet. So we are going to give the snoo a try for at least 1-2 mos and then hopefully I’ll be ready for her to transition to the crib in her room.

haleyscott, I had no idea a rental was an option. Looking into it now! PDQ- I think my H has PPA/D. He's struggling right now, and he's trying to help me (giving me a break or taking at least one twin and the toddler when he gets home, he gets up over night if both babies wake to eat at the same time), but it's not good. If I can get one of these babies to sleep sooner than later, that would be great. Of course, both sleeping would be even better. DD slept 9 hours at 6 weeks, so we're just over the halfway point, but no clue if they'll sleep by then too or not. I'm doing bulk of overnight, plus daytime with toddler 3 days a week, so something needs to help sleep wise for all of us.

My OB office called this morning and said they received payment from my insurance and they owe me $400 back so I’m excited!

grover I think it would be worth trying. Right now they have a special for the first month being $58. There are some fees and a refundable security deposit. You have to rent for one month minimum but I think it’s worth trying. I know with ds1 lack of sleep definitely contributed to my ppd/a and I can only imagine with twins.

Hang in there grover. Taking care of twins is probably one of the hardest things I've ever done, physically and mentally. You guys are doing great. I also can't wait until we get some longer stretches, more than 2.5 to 3 hours or so. DD started giving us a 4 to 5 hour stretch around 5 or 6 weeks so hopefully we're there soon. It made all the difference. My H and are both waking up every time through the night, we will wake both twins if one wakes. Usually both are stirring anyway. But he'll do diapers and bottle feed while I pump, and waking so much is starting to take a toll. I suggested doing it in shifts so we can each get maybe a 4 or 5 hour stretch but we haven't tried it yet. I have a cold now and just feel blah. I don't want to wish away time but I know it'll get easier as they get bigger!

Eames, We were totally spoiled by DD- she was sleeping 9 hours straight by 6 weeks, and only 2 wakes when we got home from hospital, followed quickly by only waking up once for a quick feed. She is still a great sleeper today (and even transitioned to toddler bed with no problem). J is giving us between 2 and 5 hours of sleep. L is insisting on being held all night long. It's not safe, so we don't want to do so or promote bad sleep habits. But man, a good solid stretch of sleep would be great. J was consistently 4-5 hours for the first full week home, but since then, both have been waking every 1.5-2 hours, and at differing times. We started doing shifts when after the first few nights of having them both eat at the same time. That got to be too exhausting, but while shifts helped me sleep (I can fall asleep easier than H, so I'd put toddler to bed around 8 pm and then crash myself til midnight), that left H with L's most colicky time of night. Plus, if H gets no sleep at night, his body then fails on him and he gets sick without question or fail. So then is he no use to me overnight if I were to need help, but then if he's up all night, he's no use when he walks in the door after being gone for 13 hour days.

haleyscott my PCP told me that Zoloft is breastfeeding friendly. I weaned off of it sometime in the second trimester, but she said if I felt like I needed it at any point it was safe to take while pregnant and nursing. I have discovered that my MIL is the cause of my anxiety, so while shes not here I'm ok with no medication. I'm hoping when she comes back for the summer I can stay off of them, but I do have them if I need them.

Has anyone tried the sooo? I’m obviously just going to panic again about the RNP situation. I’m planning on trying the PnP, but I need sleep to function and DD1 didn’t sleep flat for the first few weeks. And she was a unicorn baby that has always been a great sleeper.

My poor babes have their first cold. My H was patient zero, then DD, then me, and now them. Sore throat, stuffy, etc. They are pretty cranky, poor loves. 🙁

Just a heads up that rock n plays are being recalled now. You just have to send a certain part of it back with either the receipt or the month and year it was bought. Less than six months is a full refund.

Less than six months is a full refund. Mine is from DD (4 years ago) so I guess I should just take it to the dumpster day tomorrow. It's going to make me a little sad because it was such a lifesaver with her and for a few nights with DS.
