I am reading What Mothers Do (Especially When It Looks Like Nothing). This author has managed to put into words things about mothering that I would not have been able to describe. It is such an interesting book that looks at the lives of mothers and all we do for our children that goes unnoticed.
GTKY: I think it was It Starts With the Egg, and Boobin All Day, Boobin All Night. The first was recommended to me on the Loss boards, the second is the Milk Megs book that I had been wanting my hands on for ages.

Memory. A Pride and Prejudice fan fic.
I haven't read since March. I feel bad, but I also watch a subtitled tv show at night and it's too much for my eyes to do both.

A subtitled tv show sounds like a lot of work.

A subtitled tv show sounds like a lot of work. I was 20 episodes in before I realized it is like 80. God bless Asian soaps.

I'm reading Sacred Marriage. It is about how marriage isn't necessarily designed to make us happy but that it instead gives us a unique opportunity to draw closer to God and love like Him. It was highly recommended but I haven't gotten very far into it yet.

I am reading a book now called The Things We Wish Were True, so far not a lot has happened and I'm halfway through, it's set in a small southern town and each chapter is told from the perspective of a different person. There are about five main characters. It's well-written and engaging, but like I said, not a lot happens.
GTKY: The last book I purchased was The Secret Wife, it is about a Russian soldier who falls in love with one of the Romanov princesses during WWI. The book follows their story forward through the war and the revolution, but then also backward from the perspective of his great-granddaughter who is learning about him through some of the things of his she inherits.

I'm about half way through Fifteen Dogs and really enjoying it. Two gods getting drunk in a bar grant human consciousness and language to a pack of dogs. It's an easy read- I'm flying through it.
I just bought Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. It was on the Chapters-Indigo list of books to read after reading The Handmaid's Tale.

Spinster: Making A Life of One's Own Basically a look at what could happen if you chose not to marry. It's a bit historical and also follows the authors journey to becoming a spinster.
I am enjoying it. I find it fascinating to be introspective as well since I never really imagined I would get married or have kids.
ETA GTKY I actually don't remember the last book I purchased. I was gifted the Konmari book for Christmas. That's the last one I can remember. My library and I are tight.

I'm currently reading the most recent trade issue of Saga, a comic series that is best described as a sort of Space Opera? It's like Romeo and Juliet where the Montagues and Capulets are warring species on different planets and R&J are both former soldiers and they have a baby while on the run and it's awesome and full of badass females and funny and gory and epic and emotional and stuff. Can you tell how much I love this series? Did I mention the cover of the first issue features breastfeeding? I'm also reading some romance novel I downloaded for free on Kindle that I can't remember the author or the title, but it's about am NHL player who comes back to his hometown to recuperate after an injury and gets together with a woman he grew up with and they get to know each other in the biblical sense. Total smutty fluff, but it's pretty enjoyable.
