I think I am a Friends school kind of person. I went to a Quaker school for 13 years, they are super competitive with academics and sports. Like every person from my class went to either an Ivy League or top ten school. Lol to people thinking they produce weird people or are lax.

No. It was pointedly not available for anyone, internally or externally to submit to colleges. Same at my school.

We had a valedictorian and a salutatorian but other than that, nada. Well, again, I'm sure it was technically there but no one knew. This is likely a mechanism by the school to avoid active engagement with the exact kind of parents that are involved in this indictment. High powered, very wealthy individuals that don't get told "no" often and won't take "no" for an answer when discussing how two people with the same course load and same GPA are ranked 5 and 6 or whatever. All of this.

Also as a midwest person I was shocked to learn people bribed their way into USD - University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Wait, what? I went to USD on a extremely prestigious ACT score of 21 since the acceptance requirement was like 18 or someshit. All it cost me was the like, 2 hours of my life it took to actually take the exam once (no practice or act prep). Someone got ripped off 😂

I can't decide if I'm the kid who is the recipient of all of this if I'm upset with my parents or no. Like in the example of Felicity Huffman, it seems her daughter was genuinely wanting to make it but just couldn't but in the example of Aunt Becky... well... it's not the same. Sidebar confession I basically spiraled all the way back through Olivia Jade's instragram last night. I just finished going through her IG. She is stunningly beautiful. She should have just stuck with the social media career route. Well her SM has probably exploded in the last 24 hours so mission accomplished? And to the posters yesterday who said the kids must be embarrassed, LOLno. She probably has alot more friends and followers now. She is loving the attention.

I think some of these kids were bribed into lesser-known schools because lesser-known schools draw less attention, lower chance of getting caught.

Not to discount the success of your class, but I'm curious as to how many people were in your graduating class? Did all 12 kids go to top notch schools or all 209?

to clarify - i'm not making a blanket statement knocking Friends schools just like I wouldn't do it for homeschooling. there is a right circumstance for every kid. it's very possible that the person I knew who went to one was really smart and it was the ideal fit for her. and i actually regret my choice of describing her as "super weird" because she was probably just really socially awkward and different from my friends when I was a teenager.

Can we get some names of people who attended a Quaker school and then went on to play collegiate athletics?

The Quaker schools were known for sending kids to Ivy’s. The ones in my area were amazing. I mean, Bill Cosby sent his kids to my local one. I don’t want you to think I’m discounting them. It might be school-specific, but all the ones I know were known for treating kids as adults and letting them make their own decisions. Which, again, is great for the right kid. For me, a complete contrarian wild child, I needed a private school with old Orthodox nuns that were going to break my spirit.

There were other friends schools that were known to be more relaxed and arts focused where as mine was definitely more sports/academics.

I hasn't heard of this either, but it seems like a whole lot of schools in your neck of the woods are. I guess it depends on the school. That chart says $43,000 but that is significantly less than annual tuition where I went to school. My Canadian heart just stopped at this price. Is that standard for most colleges or did you go to a fancy one?

I missed the reason we're talking about Quakers, but MH and I were married by a Quaker minister. She is MH's good friend's mom and she's chill AF. My parents said they wouldn't pay for our wedding unless a religious person married us, so that's where we wound up. There were no mentions of religion in our ceremony. Sorry Mom.

I guess I’m cold hearted but I don’t feel that sorry for any of these kids and I think they should be removed from school regardless if they knew what their parents did. They gained entrance (at the expense of others) through their parents cheating. It’s black and white to me. I agree, if they wouldn’t have made it in without the cheating, kick them out. I’m sure they can keep their credits from a school they didn’t deserve to be at. Free up some spots.
