Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 38w2d pregnant
Baby is the size of a: Leek
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Pink
Appointments: OB check on Friday
Symptoms: Labor starting and stopping, still congested/coughing/sick, tons of anxiety, all the typical 3rd tri stuff.
Milestones: I'm 8 days from the gestational age when I delivered DD (and only a week from when I went into labor with her).
Rants/Raves/Vents: I'm having the worst time switching between "this is probably it!" and "never mind, back to normal life" modes. It's causing a ton of anxiety and generally feeling awful mentally. I'm also still pretty sick physically, and I don't know how I'll deal with labor while congested and coughing, which is driving some of my anxiety. I am considering starting my maternity leave a little early because of how badly I'm feeling.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? Huh, not much. I am taking baths almost every day to fight the swelling and congestion.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 38+4
Baby is the size of a: Pomeranian
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: Pink
Appointments: 39 week check up tomorrow
Symptoms: Contractions, so sleepy, so much pressure.
Milestones: Um. Well, tomorrow marks the single digit countdown to my EDD but I'm really hoping this kid makes her appearance this week. I'm so tired of being at work and I'm so done with being pregnant.
Rants/Raves/Vents: I think the nesting is finally over because I didn't have any motivation to do ANYTHING yesterday. I basically made H clean the rest of the house himself and I stuck myself on the couch to listen to birth stories and catch up on laundry. But realistically, our room still needs picked up so I plan on getting that done today and the kids' playroom isn't in 100% finished condition so that needs done, too. I've also had such an increase in discharge over the last few days, that it actually created issues with chafing yesterday and my thighs are so sore from it. I caved and had H slather me in Desitin because I can't see down there anymore. He just grimaced and whined about it but whatever. I brought it with me to work today and plan on reapplying at lunch. This is so dumb. I don't want to deal with chafing and labor at the same time so this better clear up soon.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? Apparently, slathering myself in Desitin -.- But really, just trying to relax this week and spend lots of time cuddling with the boys. DS2 and I rocked together this morning when he woke up too early. I loved it.

notagoddess, I always feel stuck in a corner about starting maternity leave a little early (I just can't make myself loose hours of work) so I imagine that's a hard thing to toss around. Personally, as close as you are and as miserable as you feel, it's probably better to take off a little early and try to just focus on resting.

k, thelittleredm, I am definitely leaning that way. I have to pay for childcare through the 22nd, so any paid leave I save for after then is extra money I'll get. I am not going back to this job so going out early won't affect coming back, but the $ issue is there.

How old is baby: 2 weeks
Baby is the size of a: 10.25 lbs
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: pink
Appointments: B had her 2 week check up today
Symptoms: I’m having some postpartum anxiety. I didn’t sleep well last night bc I was worried about getting us up and out the door on time. I only had two kids this morning so I’m not sure why I was so anxious 🤷🏻♀️. not sure how i will ever be on time for anything with 3 kids though. otherwise physically I feel great and I’m ready to exercise again. And breastfeeding is now practically pain free! 🙌
Rants/Raves/Vents: I’m still mourning the fact that I will never have another baby boy 😭, nor will we get to use our boy name 💔.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? Still in survival mode over here. MH and our friends and family have been super helpful. People keep bringing us meals and gifts. I’ve been enjoying a glass of wine most nights...does that count?

I am not going back to this job so going out early won't affect coming back, but the $ issue is there. I get it. I always feel so guilty taking sick days. I ended up working 40+2 this pregnancy and took one day off before I was induced. Rest and health is more important!

Weeks pregnant: 37+4 Baby is the size of a: large Domino's pizza FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM Team: secret Appointments: OB this afternoon, waited an hour for a <5 min appt but glad everything is going smoothly! Symptoms: SPD pain. Acid reflux/nausea. Baby doing ballet moves under my ribs all day. Milestones: officially term - I can't believe we're here, I feel like I want to give this baby a parade, lol! Rants/Raves/Vents: I love my little dog! He's become extremely cuddly/clingy between his midwinter haircut and just having me around all the time...we spoon and take naps on the couch most days and it is the best feeling. DH is great about giving him active play/interaction every day since he can't really go outside in this weather. QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy? Felt like a boss declining Valentine's cookies at the OB today...then went home to eat 3 homemade brownies before packing up the rest for the freezer before DH gets into them. We also scheduled several special dates in these last couple weeks to help celebrate these last days as a family of two!

@amc Yay for baby girl's weight gain! I am so inspired by your self-care routines. My first cause or symptom (not sure which is the chicken or the egg) of feeling down is not wanting to bother looking cute...we all need to give ourselves permission to take that time, our DH's can do whatever extra baby care is needed to make that happen!! thelittleredm Awesome milestone! Start chilling that post partum wine!!! k I'm so excited that breastfeeding is going well and you're feeling so well physically! It sounds like both of those things can make a real difference to how you feel! 2-3 weeks is the cutoff between baby blues and PPA/PPD that would need to be addressed...I'm glad you're keeping an eye on your anxious feelings, and definitely keep your dr in the loop if you aren't already! thelittleredm Oh my goodness, your poor legs! It's crazy how irritating the extra discharge can be. I had to stop wearing pantyliners a few weeks ago because my skin had become extremely sensitive (allergic?) to them, and it's so icky to feel damp all the time. YH can go stuff his grimace, and think about the condition his own nether regions would be in if he had leukorrhea dripping down there all day! notagoddess Oh my goodness, you are so close! I have exactly zero signs of impending labor which makes life really freaking easy here at the end of 3rd tri...I can't imagine the stress of constantly getting thrown into high alert mode with contractions, that is so exhausting!

How old is baby: 3 weeks!
Baby is the size of a: I am guessing he is up to 8 lbs.
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: 💙
Appointments: We don't have another until 4 weeks.
Symptoms: Still having a bit of a struggle with oversupply and getting a good latch. LO still isn't sleeping much at all and I am wearing thin.
Milestones: DS is holding up his head off my chest. He is having longer awake times and looking around. My heart melts more each day!
Rants/Raves/Vents: I am having a really hard time with meal prep/food for me and the older kids. I am really kicking myself for not getting more in the freezer, we have gone through all that I had made. I wish I could get some help with this.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? Not so much self care happening around here. Keeping three children clean and feed is about all I can manage.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 4 days old
Baby is the size of a: baby! 7lbs 13oz at her pediatrician appointment today
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: girl
Appointments: A has a checkup on the 18th (her official DD!) and I have a checkup on the 19th since they used the wrong sutures and I wanna be checked out early.
Symptoms: exhaustion, sore rock hard milk boobs. Regular PP pain downstairs
Milestones: We have a healthy, happy newborn!
Rants/Raves/Vents: Alice is so perfect. I feel so lucky to be her mama. I’m still amazed that she was 8lbs 1oz at birth when she was 11 days early... DD1 was 6lbs 15oz at just 5 days early. Also amazed by how great she’s nursing and that her jaundice levels are good. DD1 had bad jaundice and it took about a week for her levels to start coming down so I naturally expected a small, jaundiced baby based on my experience with DD1. But DD1 was Coombs pos and A was Coombs neg so I really think that made a difference.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? What’s self care? I’ll get to taking care of myself at some point but the last 4 days I’ve been pouring from an empty cup and doing my best to take care of everyone else and the house. MIL will be here a couple days this week and I’m looking forward to having some time to nap and shower alone. It’s going to be amazing.

How old is baby:17 days old
Baby is the size of a: tiny peanut baby
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: Girl
Appointments: none until her 4 week check. I may go see the LC for a weighted feed sometime soon.
Milestones: Passwd birth weight, survived first week as a family of 5
Rants/Raves/Vents: Starting to BFmpre and take less bottles which means less pumping! So far A is a good baby. She sleeps in her own bed, goes down drowsy, and really only cries when hungry. I realize there is a good possibility this will change when she reaches her EDD and she becomes more of a newborn instead of a preemie.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? Showring, getting out of the house every few days even if just for a short time, and eating hot meals.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 38 + 3
Baby is the size of a: bunch of rhubarb
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: Pink
Appointments: Thursday, NST/US/Appt
Symptoms: Whale-like, slow, but doing well. Baby still moving a ton so not having bad pelvic pressure for which I'm grateful, I'm still able to do things. Which is good on days like today when we have ANOTHER flipping snow day and I'm stuck inside with the boys all day. So over snow days!
Milestones: I like the 38 week mark, am fine going to 40. Then I'm done and will be doing everything possible to get labor going!
Rants/Raves/Vents: She could come and I'd be fine, but there are some projects/organization things I'd like to still get done so we'll see what I accomplish.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? Refusing to pick up anything on the floor, showering daily, letting the boys watch wayyyy too much tv on snow days so I can do stuff I want to do...

How old is baby: Two weeks old today 💙
Baby is the size of a: Bag of flour plus 8 oz
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Blue
Appointments: We’ll see the pedi whenever we break out of here. Weight checks may continue? My 6-week checkup is next month. And MH has a certain consultation to schedule ✂️
Symptoms: I’m just constantly starving now. PP bleeding is coming to a close.
Milestones: When we get home, I’m going to have my first glass of wine since June 3rd. Is that a milestone? I think so.
Rants/Raves/Vents: Aside from all of the unfortunate excitement, this new baby thing has been so much more enjoyable the second time around. I’m completely in love with this tiny creature. However, anxiety is hitting hard and will likely be off the charts when we’re home.
QOTW: What are you doing for self care during your final weeks of pregnancy / the newborn period? Showering every day, wearing clean clothes, and putting on a bit of makeup - even if it’s just tinted moisturizer and mascara, it makes me feel 1000x better.
