Okay, so do y'all send stuff in for kids at daycare for Valentines Day? Valentines for classrooms is going to be the bane of my parenting life. I’m just sending blank cards....I figure they can’t read them anyway...🤷🏽♀️ I have the list for the M/W/F kids, but since my teaching days changed I don’t know the T/Th kids.

Darn it. I feel really whiny about this. I don't even know the names of all the kids in his room. Our DC specifically asks to only put the name of your child in the from section. They fill in the To part. It makes it super easy.

I finally got a thing from DS's school about valentines. Thankfully they included a list of names, but they're encouraging us to have the kids write their friends' names as writing practice. Considering DS can barely focus long enough to write his own name when we get to school in the morning, this is going to be interesting. At least we have a few days to get it done.

That would be a ridiculous amount of candy if every parent sent it in. Kids are just as happy with stickers and tattoos. My little guy is bringing in floam and my older son is passing out slime.

They had little packets in the Target dollar spot with a sloth on the front of each saying "Happy Valentine's Day!" I'm aaaaalllll about the Target dollar spot Valentines.

Anyone have suggestions on how to prep DS1 for tonsil reduction surgery? He has to go under general for it. It’s scheduled for next month, and I don’t think the hospital will let us go back with him when they put him under

They put the mask on. I was knocked out. They walked the parent out. I Wake up in a room with both parents. He just turned 4. To compound the issue, he’s ASD and speech/communication delayed 😞 I don’t think he’ll understand why both of us can’t come and why we’re making him go with the mean doctors

It seems like with children and especially children with special needs they should be able to accommodate. If they still won’t let you go into the OR with him, don’t they usually give a sedative before taking them to the OR? I only have experience with adult surgery but I have been able to be in the prep room while the sedative is given and he may be relaxed enough by then to be okay being taken to the OR. I hope it all goes well for you. Poor little guy!

I don't see how putting him distress like that would be good for his blood pressure or heart rate right before knocking him out. You may want to ask on GD if anyone has experience with this. You may luck out with someone who's even been at the same hospital.

When DS had his endoscopy, MH was able to stay with him until he fell asleep (I was barely keeping it together that day and he handles the scary parenting stuff a lot better than I do). As for explaining it, I guess keep it simple? DS had just turned 3 (but he's neurotypical as far as we know) when he had his endoscopy and I'm not sure how much he understood. I told him they were going to give him medicine to help him fall asleep so they could look inside his tummy.

J recently started saying Yea and it is the cutest.
I also love having this conversation with him:
Me: J, do you love daddy? J: Yea! ...Mama! Me: You love mama too? J: Yea!

Omg. Nothing could prepare me for the disgustingness that is a normal toddler. DS1 was a trick baby/toddler. DS2 is so gross and such a handful. He rubbed poop from his diaper into his hair!!

I was talking to my SILs and one toddler put her finger so far up her nose and gave herself a bloody nose and the other picks her nose and eats it. I guess my toddler is not that gross.

My nephew used to stick his finger so far up his nose he would get nosebleeds too. It made babysitting a blast.

He did it again! We changed him less then 5 minutes prior. He had poop and the undigested food all over his hand, and contemplating it like he was going to eat it. 🤢🤢🤢🤢

cmb 🤢🤢🤢 my gosh, I’m sorry. So this is happening not during diaper change? I forgot that my kid likes to touch his penis which is why he’ll be in a onesie for life. Maybe nose picking would be better.

But the one time I took him to story time without a onesie on and saw him with his hands down his pants was embarrassing enough. Do they make onesies for kindergarteners?

My dad calls G 'Al Bundy' cause his hand is always down his pants especially when sitting on the couch watching TV while sucking his thumb. Team #onesiesforlife

We have him out of onesies because he loves to sit on the toilet 🙄 I’m all about the onesie life, though. He’s also obsessed with boobs and penises. He talks about them all the time 🤣 at least he knows proper terminology? It’s probably because big brother has discovered his recently and were constantly going “get your hands off your penis! Do that in private” 🤣
