Dd2 rolled over a few times onto her stomach while she was sleeping last night and freaked out. We would have to go in and flip her back over. Hopefully she will either stop rolling at night or learn to like her belly! Hopefully she figures it out!

My hometown is turning 350 this year and they're doing a parade in May. I was a wicked band geek growing up and the HS band director is trying to get 350 alumni to join the band during the parade. I would LOVE to join, but I just got a copy of the music and it looks foreign to me. I love playing but apparently it's been long enough I'm a bit rusty in my sheet music reading skills.

We gave Rory his first solids last night! MH made mashed potatoes from scratch last night and Rory seemed super interested so we gave him some. He loved it!! Anytime the spoon got close to his face he grabbed my hand with both hands and tried shoving it in his mouth.
Maybe not the best choice for a first food because of the milk/butter in them, but he's never shown signs of a dairy issue with my milk and there wasn't that much in there so oh well.

It's always a sad moment when you reach for your coffee mug and realize it's already empty...

My couch smells like rotten milk and I can't find the febreeze anywhere. Lol! Even the 3 year old commented. 🤢
Tomorrow DS is 4 months old and has his checkup! It's crazy how much he can already move around on the floor. He's even sticking his knees underneath himself when he's frustrated. I'm hoping to get some answers about all this puke since he's on Zantac.

DD has been doing some tri-pod sitting without support lately. And she LOVES standing up holding my hands! The look on her face is so precious - she looks so proud and happy <3 She smiles and giggles excitedly.
So, speaking of having a hard time with 5 months -
The day DD turned 5 months I practically bawled my eyes out starting to pack the bassinet away. She hasn't slept in it for a couple months now, but I've been avoiding putting it away because I knew it would be hard for me. I had tears steadily streaming down my face. I always have a hard time packing things away as they grow out of them, but this time is even worse. It's likely that this will be the last time I do all of this - whether I want it to be the last time or not. MH is 2000% done. I, on the other hand, am pretty shocked to find myself near constantly feeling that I kinda want to have another.... despite the fact that that's kinda crazy, it would be a struggle financially as well as space-wise, I'm getting too old to start all over again, pregnancy is hard for me and my family, etc, etc, etc. There are SO many reasons that we should be done. But this feeling is just there. I guess I hope it goes away with time. I am always trying to 'talk myself out of it'. MH actually kind of gets angry the few times I've brought it up and says absolutely not, not with him, there's no way. Which is hurtful because it makes me feel like my feelings about this don't matter and that my changing vision of our family is irrelevant. As far as he's concerned it's not even up for discussion. But at the very least I need and deserve to feel supported by my partner and to be able to discuss and work through these feelings with him. I feel like I can't even talk with him about how hard all of this is for me. He doesn't get it at all. It's been such a big internal struggle for me and it's been going on basically since the day DD was born.
There you go - a little piece of my soul for all of you. I'm hesitant to even post this... I may delete it later.

tbirdlove I'm sorry you are feeling like that. I hope you and your DH will be able to discuss it and come to a mutual agreement. Hopefully he will at least hear you out and validate your feelings.

I don't really have any suggestions tbirdlove, but I want to send you huge hugs. It's ok to feel all your feelings, and it's ok for him to feel his feelings too, BUT he should be giving you the opportunity to talk through them. He should not be getting angry, and I'm sorry that is the reaction you are having to deal with. Closing the book on your childbearing years can be hard even if you're 100% done. It has to be so much more difficult facing that when you're not sure. I hope YH drops the angry responses and realizes he should be giving you the opportunity to talk through all this with him. Didn't quote you in case you decided to delete, but thank you for deciding to share and while we may not have the answer for you, I hope we can remain a place to at least let you get it out.

Flute/piccolo and dabbled in some oboe. I played the flute a few years in middle School. I wish I would have continued playing! I played from 5th grade through my junior year of college. I kept considering joining a community band somewhere but never got around to it. Now I wish I had to keep the skills up. Maybe I'll break out the flute on one of my work from home days so the only one around to here me try it again is DS2, lol.

So random thought I had while taking the girls grocery shopping today. Where do you put the toddler and baby that is sitting up? All of our stores (besides Costco) have just one spot to sit. Should I put dd1 in the big part of the cart? Hope I get one of the fancy "car carts" every time that has two places to sit? Something else?

My DD usually walks but if she doesn't walk, she sometimes sits in the big part or I'll wear the baby and she sits in the top. When I used to nanny I would put one on the top and one on the bottom too. Some of our grocery stores have a cart with a car attached to the front so my DD can sit in the driving car thing and I have the whole cart to myself for the baby. Lately though, babywearing has been the way to go.

I had to drop off my Redbox movie and drove to the grocery store that had one outside with both kids. I quickly ran to return it and when I got back in the car I realized that the entire top of my nursing dress was flipped up... Thankfully I had a bra on and it was still snapped on but it is too small for me and my boobs and nipples are buldging out of it.

I wish dd1 could walk but she would take off the minute we get in the store. Dd1 always begs for the car carts so hopefully I'll just be able to find one whenever we go.

I have a few shirts where there's a boob panel that flips up and it's a crossover top underneath and I've left the top up (sometimes with my bra showing) and had no idea. I also keep forgetting to re-clip my nursing bra so I'm sure that's a good look with one boob supported and the other one saggy.

I also forget to clip the nursing bra. And if I don't pay attention to how I'm putting my boobs back in my bra I end up with my nipples pointing off all crazy in totally opposite directions! My current nursing bras are all thin cause I don't like the extra lining and always take it out, so depending on what I'm wearing you can tell when my nipples are laughably uneven.

Oh I've definitely forgotten to reclip the nursing bra many times too. I love when I realize I'm out and I've got a floppy boob. Lol and then trying to discreetly snap it back...

I feel like I can never get out of my house for quick errands because I'm too slow moving in the mornings and then because of juggling nap times and meal times.

This is probably my only benefit with the 3.5 year old no longer napping. I also don't ever work around DS and his naps. He must adapt. 🤷♀️ Most of my errands are run in mid to late afternoon which sucks with traffic here in the city. But I feel you!!!

Sometimes it unfortunately makes for a crabby baby, but we did the same with DS1 and it ended up with a pretty flexible kid in terms of naps, bedtime, and meals, so I'm hoping for the same result this time. If DS2 seems to be getting tired we'll give him the chance to take a morning nap before I/we drag him places, but otherwise we don't really work around them.

I was better about just doing whatever when she was younger. But now by the time we start trying to get ready to go in the morning, she's flipping out ready for her morning nap! If we're doing something fun or necessary, I'll just put her down for nap , finish getting ready, then wake her when I'm done. But I'm not waking her up just because I want to go do little unimportant things!
I'm also usually more successful in the afternoon.

Naptimes and sleep are my anxiety triggers so we do all naptimes at home. We don't get out much but I know if I tried to go during nap time I would be very anxious the whole time. Other people don't really understand it, but I'm doing what's best for me right now. Having longer awake times is really helping though.

brennaI get where you are coming from. It's important to do what makes you feel most comfortable. I get anxious at times with both kids out and about especially when they are both going nuts. But for me, I think I've just turned into "that" person everyone stares at because I look like a hot fucking mess and I have just accepted it. I don't have help with a significant other so I just have to roll with it even when I just want to curl into a ball and cry. It's probably a good thing I go to therapy. Lol!

DS was running and slipped and fell face first into the entertainment center. He was fine, just startled. But when I went launching myself on the floor after him I collapsed into a weird position with my left leg and hurt my knee pretty bad as well as my ankle and hip. It's been constantly aching all night 😞 I can walk so it shouldn't be anything serious, but I'm kinda limping to keep weight off it. I hope it doesn't take long to feel better. I had a kinda blah day so this was a nice finish.
