Has anyone else not had their period come back yet? I am of course happy to not have it right now- I am just wondering at what point I should start to worry. We would like to start TTC soon. I am only breastfeeding 2 or 3 times a day right now- probably only 6 or 7 oz a day total. I keep thinking it's about to happen and then nothing!

I got mine back with DS at 12 months and got pregnant that month (lost that pregnancy though). I nursed him until almost 18 months. With V, my body was trying really hard in November and I had like 2 days of spotting but no period. I did just get it for the first time for real in January.
You could try acupuncture to get things going, if you are up for that. I had made an appt back when I was waiting for my period to return after DS but got my period back in between making the appt and actually going in for it!

pinkcat I have an IUD but my period came back around 4mo when I had the IUD inserted even though I'm nursing and pumping. It's maybe come every other month though. 🤷🏼♀️ Your body could be ovulating but you may not get a period. I would just start tracking your BBT!

Some people don't get a period until they wean entirely. My friend nursed her baby once a day from 18-24 months or so and even that was enough to keep it away! I remember mine took nearly 3 months to come back after I weaned DD1.

It’s currently 0, feels like -16 here. Schools cancelled. Between an ice storm, snow, cold and sick kids. I’ve left my house maybe four or five times in the last two weeks. And two of those times were only to do preschool drop off. LOSING MY MIND. Dear spring I desperately need you. Baby is also trying to drop her morning nap. She doesn’t want to fall asleep, but then she gets pissy. I need to be able to get out so I can distract her but seriously my kids are all taking turns being sick.
Just throwing my own pity party over here.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get a one year old to sleep past 5am?
He stands up and cries for 2-3 minutes, lays down and falls asleep for 10, then rinse and repeat before we will get up with him at 6. 6 is really still too early but he seems to be starving by that point and I’m wide awake by that point anyways.
He normally falls asleep around 8. I’ve tried earlier but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. He still naps twice a day, over an hour each time and seems to really need both naps.

Currently 41* here today, but it's supposed to get up to 57* this afternoon. My mom is very happy to be at my house this week as the forecasted high at her house today is -15*. Sending warm thoughts to everyone dealing with the polar vortex.
I'm so checked out at work right now. I have an interview on Monday and I could not care less about my current position. I'm trying to fake it as much as possible, because of course I don't have an offer yet, but it's so hard.

We have this issue off and on, too. I know you said it is not an issue but those naps seem really short for a twice a day napper, I would definitely try to drop to one nap that is 2-3 hours long. If you switch to one nap I would try an earlier bedtime at the same time, too - I know you said you have tried it but if he drops a nap he should be more tired at night. I think one year olds need 14ish hours of sleep on average so it sounds like he is lacking a bit. To be honest, we do still struggle with the 5 am wakeups in phases, but it is not a consistent thing as it had been for a month or so. Have you tried giving him a bottle or sippy when he wakes at 5?

Thank you everyone for the advice about periods coming back! I had been putting off tracking my BBT but I guess I might as well get started doing that again. After 2 years of tracking while we TTC last time it was nice to have a break! ajetter Ugh I'm sorry!!! That sounds brutal. I hope you get a break soon!

Maybe we are ready to drop a nap? The two he has always vary, I think yesterday it was an hour and 10 minutes and an hour and 40 minutes. He will gladly take a bottle at 5am if we give it. I was just hoping to not encourage him to get up at that time. But I've never done this before so I don't really know what I'm doing lol. He was sleeping until 6-6:30 but got sick 2 or 3 weeks ago and everything went off schedule. That's when the 5am wake ups started.

I am team whatever-needs-to-be-done-to-get-sleep so if he takes a bottle at 5 and goes back to sleep I would 100% do that and not switch up anything else for the time being. You can start watering that one down quickly but just get some sleep!

peachesncream If he takes a bottle at 5am, he’s then up for the day. No falling back. I don’t know which is better, getting up to play with him or listening to him cry. I know this won’t last forever, but annoying right now.

I actually think it was one of the time changes that fixed her issues. She then started sleeping until like 6:30.

cake, our DS is an early riser, always has been. His most common wake up time right now is somewhere close to 6 but we've had a big range, including regularly getting up around 5. It sucks. I figured we were doing something wrong with him but have tried all the same methods with DD and she will gladly sleep until 8:30-9 on the weekends! So, no tips just commiseration. If you can't get him to sleep longer, you might still be doing all the right stuff (that's what I'm trying to say with this post).

Thank God I got out of the house today!!! We woke up and I thought K had a fever. He was only 99.2 so I contacted my provider and sent him on his way (with ibuprofen).
Now I'm at the coffee shop answering emails and listening to the Rent soundtrack. Anyone else watch the Rent Live (but not really live) performance this weekend? I saw it on Broadway when I was in HS so I've always loved it.

Hi all!
I sent G to school today. Apparently she was one of very few kids that actually went. She was the only kid on her school bus. I don’t know why parents kept their kids home today. It’s cold but they aren’t hanging out outside. 🤷🏻♀️ it’s also not nearly as frigid as the Midwest has been.

Negative bazillion degrees or not, life has to go on 🤷♀️ meanwhile everyone else literally thought if you went outside you would die.

The windchill was but she was literally outside for a minute and a half waiting for the bus. I felt bad about sending her until I realized they probably did crafts and read with her all day. She is probably having a ball.
