Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 40 weeks
Baby is the size of a: watermelon
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: green
Appointments: Thursday. I could potentially be induced tomorrow, but I think I’m going to wait. Has anyone gone past their due date? DS1 was induced on his due date and DS2 was induced two days after. They don’t seem worried about size or anything, but we didn’t actually discuss the risks of going past so it’s making me anxious.
Symptoms: anxiety is the front runner this week. I also had some terrible RLP trying to roll over a couple nights ago. And I’m not sleeping at all.
Milestones: due date? Here we are again.
Rants/Raves/Vents: this cold needs to GTFO. I’ve pretty much done nothing all weekend just trying to rest. I had some energy to make dinner last night which was the most I’ve done all weekend.
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? I’m sure we will go to the ILs lake house this summer.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 36 + 1
Baby is the size of a: Cabbage Patch Doll
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Blue
Appointments: OB on Wed, BPP/NST on Thurs, growth sono at the MFM on Fri.
Symptoms: Sleep is getting hard to come by, itchy abdomen, waddling, etc. BH are getting stronger and slightly uncomfortable.
Milestones: Dilated to 1cm last week! 🥳 Let’s hope that progress continues.
Rants/Raves/Vents: Work is stressing me out. My boss is looking for other jobs and is totally checked out. My coworker and I (due within a week of each other) are trying to train our new hire while wrapping up/transitioning our tasks. There’s just way, way more on my plate than I can handle right now, and I would really prefer to be nesting as opposed to working every night after DS is in bed. Never thought I’d say this, but I’m actually looking forward to maternity leave.
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? Nothing planned! Nothing fun, anyway...I’ll probably have some work trips this fall. I’m a homebody, so I’m 100% ok with as little travel as possible.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 34 + 4 Baby is the size of a: (6-lb) butternut squash FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM Team: secret Appointments: OB this afternoon Symptoms: Worsening SPD + hip pain that keeps me practically on bed rest. Add me to the embarrassing breathlessness club. Craving unhealthy stuff for the first time this pregnancy (had fries and a vanilla cone yesterday...). Fluctuating, needy emotions - squabbling with DH. Milestones: Our scheduled C-section is one month from tomorrow! Seems like a long way off compared to everyone having babies and cervical checks and all but we're kind of in shock here lol! Rants/Raves/Vents: My mom is so difficult and pushy. It's such a mindf*ck to figure out how to handle her...she's one of those people where you lose no matter what. Communicate a boundary? Try to have an adult conversation addressing it? Ignore/avoid her? Give in a bit? It all turns out bad. I'm feeling pressure to handle her perfectly somehow because I hope that can somehow stave off some of the drama/stress when there's a grandkid involved. Best bet is having these conversations around witnesses (i.e. my dad) but she's bringing lunch over today the two of us and I want to look forward to it but can't...ugh. QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? Yes!! The family (parents, bro, sis, DH, me, and new baby) are spending 11 days in a cabin in the Adirondacks just after Memorial Day. The concept sounded better when said new baby was less imminent lol. It should be fun, we've done something similar over Thanksgiving a few times and had a great time (lots of games, movies, hikes, cooking, whatnot). Also, it's crazy but we may fly from NYS to California for baby to meet my sister sometime in April or May, because we bought tickets with our airline miles last summer then couldn't go with my bleeding issues, and they'll expire if we don't use them by June. I may try to call and beg United Airlines to have compassion on us and refund the miles or give us more time though lol!!

Weeks pregnant: 36w tomorrow Baby is the size of a: 4lbs9oz according to growth scan today FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM Team: GIRL Appointments: Had one with high risk today, tomorrow and thursday with regular OB Symptoms: Tired, hips sore, insomnia Milestones: Made it another week Rants/Raves/Vents: MY appointment this morning with my high-risk OB didn't go the best. Her growth has slowed and her abdomen is only measuring at 30w. Her slow growth combined with GD and my improving sugars, BP that is creeping up, protein in my urine, and my heart condition, he doesn't want to push me past 37w. I pretty much broke down on him in the office today about all the anxiety I'm having about things going wrong and how stressed I've been. He actually thanked me for opening up because he says I normally minimize things and he doesn't always know how to help me best. So we are going to move up the date of my c-section to next week when I hit 37w if things stay stable until then. He offered to put me in the hospital for monitoring until delivery but I declined and opted for close outpatient monitoring. I got a steroid shot today and get another one tomorrow. I will go to the OB basically every other day for monitoring. And I'm doing a 24 hour urine. He also went ahead and put me off work. I'm still stressed but feeling some better with our plan. I'm just ready to hold her and know she is okay. QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? None planned. I'd like to make it to the beach as a family at some point. Weeks pregnant: 36 weeks
Baby is the size of a: Papaya
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: pink 💕
Appointments: Friday
Symptoms: insomnia, heartburn/reflux, pelvic pressure, RLP/cramping mostly when moving in the bed and soooo many contractions
Milestones: Another week down!
Rants/Raves/Vents: Wish my OB didn’t start checking me until 37-38 weeks because now I know and am questioning everything even though I know I can walk around dilated, effaced and engaged for weeks. All the contractions I’ve been having are normal for me but they’ve been growing in intensity and sometimes come 5-6 minutes apart for an hour which sucks 😕 I just really want her to stay in for at least another 2-3 weeks. Doc doesn’t think I’ll make it to my DD though. The last few weeks of waiting are so tough!
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? No plans to travel yet but I’m sure we will end up going somewhere eventually. I anything just to visit friends who live 4 hours away.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 35w2d
Baby is the size of a: Honeydew melon
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Pink
Appointments: OB check on Friday
Symptoms: Lots of contractions, heartburn, peeing all the time, swelling, pain
Milestones: Nesting has kicked in! I’m organizing the basement for the first time since moving here 2.5 years ago. Baby stuff is mostly done, too.
Rants/Raves/Vents: See above. Also, I have no idea how I’m going to get through another month at work. I have zero motivation and don’t feel well enough to be there.
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? I really don’t want to. I’m burned out on traveling with a toddler— add a baby and no thank you.

k I am two for two on going overdue. 😉 Size was a concern for me because of GD, but the only other thing that I recall being concerning was meconium in the amniotic fluid. I had it both times, and with DS2 he was coughing/puking it up all night to a rather concerning level for me and DH. They didn't put him in the NICU though I would have appreciated the monitoring because we stayed up all night instead making sure he was breathing and not choking on it. It also impacted nursing a bit that first night because he had swallowed so much. DS1 had it but it wasn't as bad and no noticeable after-effects. I am monitoring it more closely this time - doctor told me they can see meconium in the fluid via ultrasound so that might be worth asking for if you want to know. That aside, going overdue is normal and it's pretty funny to see people's faces when they ask when you're due and you say two days ago. 😜 Got me free dessert at a restaurant once...

hrh that’s what I’m afraid of! The dr never mentioned it as a risk but it does seem more common in post date babies. I’m an indecisive person as it is, so I wish someone would just tell me when is the safest time to have this baby is! and yes tomorrow at work should be fun...🙄

tngrl3 I’m sorry for the rough appt and the slowed growth. That’s so stressful. Kudos to you for being candid about how you’re feeling. It sounds like you have a solid plan and a really great, supportive team.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 35+2
Baby is the size of an: American Girl doll
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: Pink
Appointments: Wed for the usual, NST/fluid check/appt
Symptoms: Insomnia, some heartburn, general aches and slow.
Milestones: Nothing of note
Rants/Raves/Vents: Productivity! I have been tearing all weekend to get things done but I feel so much more prepared for baby now. There are plenty of things left to do but at least she has some clean clothes and a somewhat put together bedroom! I still have to do all my project-y decor stuff but at least that's not vital. Phew. DH made some freezer meals too so that's at least started.
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? Only road trips planned at this time, visiting family/going up north.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 37 and 5
Baby is the size of a: romaine lettuce
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM
Team: blue
Appointments: NST this morning. Baby looked great. I’m waiting for them to call me to set up an induction for February 4th pending they have room for that day. The doctor said he was doubtful I’ll make it that long given the contractions I was having during the NST!
Symptoms: I had a cold which was not a fun time but it’s getting better. I’m just getting super uncomfortable at this point. Lots of little pains which make me go agh is it starting?!
Milestones: Full term!
Rants/Raves/Vents: my SIL threw us a virtual shower since we away from family and we’ve gotten so many nice and generous gifts! We really don’t need to buy anything for him!
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? I have no idea! We are pondering a big move to be closer to family so it’ll depend on that.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: baby boy is 13 days old
Baby is the size of a: he blew past his birth weight in a week. We have another weight check on Thursday.
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Appointments: 2 week pedi appointment on Thursday
Milestones: he’s staying awake a little longer sometimes now (including at night, ugh). Yesterday he took his first bottle, given by his very excited and proud big brother!
Rants/Raves/Vents: we are settling into some kind of routine with the 5 of us. I’m trying not to get too comfortable though because it all will change when DH goes back to work 2 weeks from tomorrow. Right now we kind of switch off sleeping in shifts since LO tends to be very restless in the first half of the night and will only sleep if held (versus daytime where he’s perfectly happy to nap 3-4 hours at a time in his bouncer or RNP). I’m just crossing my fingers that he starts getting the hang of day vs. night over the next couple weeks.
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? Nothing too exciting. At one point my mom had been talking about a whole-family trip to England in the spring to visit my family there, but that was before I got pregnant with DS2. Not sure we are going to commit to a trip like that with a 4, 2, and 3 month old.
Otherwise just the typical car trips to NJ to see my parents (we’ll go for Passover and Rosh Hashanah for sure) and to Cape Cod for summer weekends and a week-long vacation over 4th of July. Maybe just maybe DH and I will do an overnight trip somewhere in New England in the fall, assuming LO is STTN by then and we can feel okay leaving all 3 of them with my ILs.

wildflowers what kind of camping do you do? In a tent? With baby? 😳 We have a travel trailer, so it isn't really camping at all! We have done day hikes with the kids and that is doable with a baby and we will do some.

k, DS1 was a couple days overdue and had zero complications. My midwife then and the one I have now don't have any concerns about complications until close to 42 weeks, although they both wanted to have an induction date set around 41 - 41+3. tngrl3, Hugs lady. I'm glad you opened up to your doctor and that he was able to do something to help you at least a little bit. I'm glad you have a date set for sure, now.

Weeks pregnant/How old is baby: 35+4
Baby is the size of a: Mini lop bunny
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: Pink
Appointments: Check up Friday
Symptoms: BH, exhausted, same old SPD crap, everything starts hurting so much sooner. Everyone keeps commenting on how much she's dropped over the weekend and what not. My mom says my waddle has changed lol
Milestones: One month as of Thursday. One. Month. I'm panicking about not being ready enough.
Rants/Raves/Vents: Hm. I'm pretty over working. I'm so ready for leave but that means A will be here and it all feels surreal. You would think by the third baby, it would feel like real life when thinking about transitioning between being pregnant and, you know, not being pregnant anymore. But nope. Also, H's coworkers are driving me crazy They keep telling him how he's not being supportive and what not because he isn't taking a week or more off when A comes. Except we had planned on a week until he found out that his paid vacation time doesn't start over at the start of the year, they go by employment date so he won't have any vacation time until after March. So now he can't take more than a day or two because we can't afford that. I told him the next time they want to give him crap for it, he should tell them he's more than willing to take donations to cover missed days. -.-
QOTW: Are you doing any traveling this year? We have plans to roadtrip to MT during my leave so my grandparents can meet A (my grandpa can't travel anymore and it's hard on my grandma). I'm guessing we'll head up there in April with my parents. Might be March, though. Then, we are suppose to go to Galveston for a family reunion on H's side. Love the beach house they normally book and DS2 has never been so I'm looking forward to it.
