I got sidetracked by mastitis so I’m siting I’m the couch making lists of things I need to clean. leatherpants I have the same issues re: restriction in diets. I’m doing some brain dumping in an effort to figure out wtf my problem is. I am happy that I’m overall making better choices in my diet but if I want to meet my goals it is going to take a much more strategic approach to nutrition.

I managed to clean and organize both our downstairs closet and linen closet. I knew they'd be fairly painless but they both needed it. Every closet in our house needs cleaning and organizing so this week is perfect for me. Especially since we're listing our house in two weeks.

My external hip rotators have really been bothering me, so I’ve really been focusing extra on stretching for the past few days. Lots of pigeon and reverse pigeon poses, along with lunges. It’s felt so good and made such a huge difference!

I was so tired last night and grumpy, but I did an arm dumbbell 20 minute work out and then got on the treadmill for two miles. It felt great! Didn't help so much with sleep, but then the kids didn't cooperate for that anyway. I will still take it as a win.

You guys are doing great! I am feeling a little better today so I am cleaning and organizing a bit. I forget how much calmer I feel when my space is less cluttered.
I'm looking at low impact exercise just between now and getting the go ahead on Thursday to exercise. I'm thinking a 45 minute yoga with Adrienne session will hit the mark. Body weight workouts FTW!

I should do some yoga. I need it badly. I know yoga with Adrienne is most people's go to. Is there anything like ten minutes long? Because I won't really committed more time then that, I know myself too well.

Hey everyone! I hope this week has gone well for you all!
I’m very happy to report that I don’t have ovarian cancer and though I have one more round of testing to do, I very likely do not have breast cancer. It has been a week.
This upcoming week’s practice is very exciting to me.
This Week We’re Getting Our Jam On Simple Instructions: Find a song that makes you happy no matter what. Find a time to play that song for yourself every day this week. The song should make you want to embody it, e.g. dance, smile, shake, air guitar, sing out. This practice should change your mind and your body.

I already know my song: Lizzo - Good as Hell.
I’d love to know what song you are choosing!

I’m so excited for this week’s wellness practice! We have dance parties on the regular and we always rock out to BSB - Everybody. We’ve already danced to it today. It warms my little boy band loving heart that my son loves it as much as I do.

yoginikiki, I know I said this on the app but I’m so very happy you got good news this week. It’s the worst that you had to live with those thoughts but what a wonderful way to go into this next week ❤️❤️

yoginikiki, I know I said this on the app but I’m so very happy you got good news this week. It’s the worst that you had to live with those thoughts but what a wonderful way to go into this next week ❤️❤️ I know it is super cheesy but I really did have a major shift of priorities this week. I knew I had to take better care of myself but I really had a talk with myself during all of this, and now it is not just taking care of myself but figuring out how to arrange my life in a way that makes myself and my family a far far far higher priority than work and my clients. I know it will take time. Luckily I still have 3.5 challenges to help me figure it out. Thanks for all of your support ladies, it really meant the world to me.

I’m really enjoying jamming out today—-we’ve had music on all day and dancing while doing chores is way more productive

Ok. I need to do something about this nutrition stuff and I’m just mind dumping here for a second. I cannot do restriction anything anymore. I think it is some mental blowback from yo yo dieting and restricting for ages. So the moment I “can’t” have something - even in this point system which used to work for me - I get all toddler/teenager and I rebel. But I do need to get my shit together food wise. The last 2 days I’ve worked on my macro calculations and calories. I’ve had a struggle this go around with nursing in that my supply as been super finicky to calories so I’m having a hard time finding a balance between not gaining (let alone trying to lose) and losing my supply. So I’m going to try this macro counting for the next month and see if I can make it work. And if I stick to my macros and my plan, I’m going to give myself the points. cnf, this is what you are doing too right? And I saw your post about taking away a point if you ate something you didn’t plan for even if it fit? I think I’m going to copy you. I have a meal plan PDF that focuses on what you can have. It’s been a game changer for me. If you want I can’t send it to you. Sure! I’d love that thanks

I’ve had a mindset change since starting this challenge. The house looks better, we are spending less time on devices and more time with each other. We made it through the hardest week for us emotionally and I’m not in the dark place I usually find myself in. I’ve been focusing on our family and the time we spend together.

🍍 🍊 Fineapple 🍍 🍊 the screen time indicator has gone down every week! I’m now at 3 hours a day which is still high but better than it was (it was almost 5 hours previously). I’ve been focusing on what’s really important and that’s helped change my mindset. I got stuck in a rut for a while and it’s nice to see another side. We’re all so much happier too! The exercise and food are coming, but really the mindset has been a game changer fore right now!

I mentioned on yesterday's reflection that I had a meeting that I provided snacks for and I ended up eating some of the leftover cookies. That really made me think about how the mentality at my company has changed over the years. I had around 25 people present and 3 dozen cookies. There was a time when that would not have been enough and there would have been some pissed off people.
We could have done 1 dozen and had left overs. We stocked the fridge with water and pop- there were less than 5 cans of pop in the room. The weird things one can focus on while presenting.

This Week You’ll Create a “Sacred” Space
Simple Instructions: Identify a personal space in your home where you can go to calm and restore yourself. If you do not have a space like that, create one with a ritual token: a candle, an object, a photograph, even a short set of words, like a poem, mantra, or prayer. Use this space for at least 10 minutes a day to meditate, pray, or quietly breathe.

I’m finding that I am keeping past weeks lifestyle practices that work for me. The golden hour remains, and I’m sure the jam sessions will as well.
Sacred space is of interest to me personally so I am excited to have an excuse to execute.

GhoatMonket that is so interesting. What do you think is responsible for that change?

🍍 🍊 Fineapple 🍍 🍊 and skategirl128 I am really happy for you guys that you have noticed positive changes. I never knew how much my environment and digital connection impacted me before my first challenge. Like, I did but I really couldn’t pinpoint what was off or what to do about it. I’m feeling a bit down lately, I think I’m going to take a closer look at screen time, walks with MH and the state of my house

People are more aware of what they are eating. The ones that were already older are now even older and nearing retirement and many are watching their diet/weight for medical reasons. A lot of my office is mid 30's-early 40's, so 10 years ago a lot of us didn't care because young, didn't have kids, and a lot of the guys were not married or were newly married. And a good number of us were a lot bigger than we are now (who am I kidding every one of us). The younger crowd is a little more lenient with their diets, but since most of them are newer, if no one else takes a treat, they won't either. If you put a fruit or veggie tray and a dozen donuts in our breakroom, the fruit & veggies will go first.
Now you give us all some beer and chips and dip, we will murder all of it. But we were reliving some of the "glory" day of project manager meetings and company outings and everyone getting fucked the fuck up. And that doesn't tend to happen now. Well, not as frequently.

I’m loving the change in my mindset. The house being more together and us being more focused on each other is so much better! I’m looking forward to this weeks challenge to. I’ll create a scared space and use candles, etc to make our house more cozy. I’ve been more focused on reflection, etc so this will be another step in the right direction.
Those around me have noticed too. I’m more patient and less stressed. It’s really so much better after just a month!

This past week was a really busy work week for me, but the jam session helped me get into a good headspace for it at the start of each day. I want to keep that. And I am also trying to keep up with the golden hour and the organizing. Looking forward to this week!

Being in a not huge apartment, I don’t have a lot of extra space or even really private space. I am going to spend a little time today carving something out for myself.
