It's my first day back at work. I was so not ready for this and have spent most of the morning trying not to cry. I know it will get better but for now this sucks.
About to go pump for the first time. FX it goes as well as pumping for DS1 did.

Dd2 was up every 2.5-3 hours last night. DH tried to get her back to sleep a few of the times but she wouldn't sleep until I fed her. She acted like she was starving every single time. I didn't think there was a growth spurt at 4 months, but maybe DD is just having a late growth spurt even though she is huge for her age already!

brenna - Most resources list average growth spurt timing at 3, 6, and 9 months, but KellyMom has a 4 month growth spurt listed too so your DD could very well be in one.

NymeriaI hope your day goes quickly! DS found his thumb and I don't know how to feel about it yet. Like his sister, he won't take a paci and loves the boob for comfort. Part of me wants him to use this to self-soothe but the other half is worried for long term. Never had to deal with anything like that with DD. It could totally just be a temporary thing but I can't help but think of horrors with germs, weaning, teeth issues, etc.

pixiepink24 - I would try not to worry about it now since like you said, it could very well be a temporary thing. He could very well figure out how to self-sooth without an "object" to help over time. It's not worth stressing yourself out about it this early IMO!

pixiepink24 I agree maybe the thumb sucking will pass. But I understand the nervousness about trying to break that habit in the future. You can't take their thumb away! I myself was a thumb sucker and I was in almost middle school before I stopped and my teeth/jaw suffered for it. Lots of orthodontic work here.

Still getting through all the sickness here. Poor DD was snorting and snoring and and grunting and coughing all night. Her fever has stayed down since yesterday afternoon, so hopefully she's past the worst of it as well.

Because she was 3 weeks early I don't know if her growth spurts will be off from the expected growth spurt times or not. All I know is I feel like I have a newborn again 😟

Grrrrr. DD shits up out the back of nearly every single poopy diaper. I'm sick of it! 😡
I can't imagine she needs size 3 already. She's about 14 lbs? I've been using Target brand, but I just bought a pack of stupid, expensive Pampers to see if that makes a difference.
Confession: I spent all that time and money collecting newborn cloth diapers... But once I got into life with two littles I quickly decided that I cared significantly less about CDing this time 😐 It's all so easy and care free with the stupid disposables, that I've just been doing that. But with all the damn poop leaks, I've been so fed up that I've been trying to put her in cloth..... and I am so over the huge bulk!! Her clothes fit so much better in disposables. Guess I have my work cut out for me in trying to sell all these diapers.... 😕

Nymeria I hope your first day back at work is going good. I’m sitting and waiting on a service for my car. P has been ok. But she just fought me hard going back down for a nap when the family next to us has kids running in circles... there are just too many distractions.

tbirdlove P is about 14 pounds and she’s still in a size 2. We have been using pampers and Huggies because that is what we were gifted. I’m liking the pampers better, which is odd because with M I liked huggies better. But P is much more plump. We realized the other day that M is 30ish pound and P is 14. She’s about 1/2 the weight as my 3 year old!

akwild same weights for our kids too! We were also just talking about that the other day! Yeah, I think size 3 would be huge on her. I remember preferring Pampers for the times I did use disposables with DS. But I think I had a Huggies sampler this time and am I dreaming that it had like a little catch flap at the back??? Maybe that would slow down her forceful upward poo...

tbirdloveDS is 14lbs 2oz as of last week and I recently put him in 2''s. I definitely recommend trying different brands. I also agree with you on the CDing. We waited about 1-2 weeks before trying but then he had yeast so we had to use disposables. Then by the time that was done, he out grew all the small diapers. It's so hard fitting him into his clothes with a cloth diaper on so if it's a special outfit or we are going out, I just use disposables. It is definitely a lot of work, but saving me a lot of money that I don't have.

She still just fits in the NB Simplex - but then it's a watch the clock situation because so they don't leak since she's almost too big for them. I tried some of the OS stuff on her a couple days ago and they were still so big!! I hate when the cloth diapers make them look like a bowling pin! ETA - I remember buying all DS's clothes as separates cause I always needed a size bigger pants. But screw that! I want to enjoy some of these cutesy girly outfits that come together 😊

tbirdloveYes! He grew out of the small workhorses right away! I was sad because those were so simple and the only ones I had. He now doesn't even fit in my small prefolds with snappies anymore so I will eventually have to get larger ones. Also grew out of the 20 G's that I had too! Right now I'm stuck using some used fuzzybunz pockets and AIO Bumgenius, which he leaks out of frequently. I have way better luck with the prefolds and thirsties covers. I can't imagine CDing with a girl because their clothes are so small and narrow. Luckily boys clothes are more forgiving and wide, but yes, I have to go up a size in pants most of the time too!

Maybe that would slow down her forceful upward poo... There is a pocket on the Huggies, but I found it didn't always work for DS1. But Huggies didn't really work for him at all until he was 1 1/2 or so. We were Pampers only before that. I'm just using up the rest of our size 2 Pampers for DS2 and he'll be moving into size 3. He was over 13lbs on 11/14 though so he's a bit bigger than your DD right now.

tbirdlove yes they do! I just had to go check. The little snugglers line has a pocket in the back, but the snug and dry kind do not.

tbirdloveHave you tried maxaloones before? I'm wondering if they are worth it to purchase with CDing. Also, my two month old is wearing six month pjs tonight...and they aren't big at all.

I haven't, but I'd thought about it. Don't they have a foldable waist and legs so that they can fit through more sizes? Could be worth it to try a couple pairs! I see them occasionally on some of the CD swap boards on FB.

I'm on night 3 of not being able to transfer DS2 to the pack 'n play. I ended up cosleeping both nights and was hoping to not have to tonight, but he's walking up the second I put him down.

I have been sick all but maybe 2-3 weeks since dd2 was born. Both dds and I am sick today. They both have fevers and dd1 has a runny nose and cough. I feel like I'm starting to get a fever too and have a runny nose. Come on immune system, let's work a little harder at keeping illnesses away!

As soon as I start to feel a cold coming on I start drinking apple cider vinegar in hot water or lemon tea. I'm convinced it helps prevent or lessen the illness.

Ive been living on elderberry syrup the past two months and I hate to jinx it but no illness yet for any of us. I'm sure it's inevitable though.
Anyone know anything about low platelets in your blood? My blood test results came back low. Doc says that can happen with pregnancy but said it was unusual that far postpartum. He mentioned bruising easily and difficulty with blood clotting but I haven't noticed any of that. Anyway, I need to get tested again.

pixiepink24 - The people I know who dealt with it were all during pregnancy so no advice but hopefully your level bounces back by the recheck.
