My OB asked me today how long I planned to keep working before the twins arrive. She knows my job is physical, that I was on bed rest with my first, and that worked until the day I had my second. I'm only 20+3 now. How long did you keep working during your multiples pregnancy/pregnancies?

I'm still working and I'm 31+3, but my job is not physical. I do have a long commute of over an hour each way, which is her primary concern. My OB also plans to evaluate my situation at our appointment next week. I imagine she will recommend transitioning to work from home with a hard stop around 34-35 weeks.

I worked until 37 weeks, had a scheduled c-section at 38+1. Like happyfeet9, I had a long commute - an hour to an hour and a half in the car depending on my work location. About 1/3 of my time was teaching, so I was on my feet, but that was the limit of "physical." I had an easy pregnancy and felt pretty good throughout until I hit 34 weeks. Between being big and not being able to sleep, I was pretty miserable.

Thank you, happyfeet9 and river, for your input. I was a little taken aback about her mentioning it this early on. I told her I'd work until she made me stop.

I worked until they arrived at 36 weeks. But I have a relatively sedentary office job.

I had planned to work until about 34 weeks, but then I went into labor at 28+2, so that didn't happen.

I worked until 36 weeks. My job was not physically demanding though, and I was pretty much done at that point. I was glad I didn't try to push it further.

Thank you for all the feedback. I thought I had a good while left to work (as long as things continue to go well).

I worked until 33 weeks. I spend most of my day in the office at my desk but have one day where I'm on my feet in court all day.
I asked to go off work because I was exhausted and not sleeping well.

I worked until 36 weeks when I was pregnant with my daughter. My company and CA pay disability for 4 weeks before due date so it was fully paid, no complications or anything I was just really big and uncomfortable. I work a desk job. I'm pretty sure I will stop work sooner this time. I know a coworker who had twins (and worked here) 18 years ago said she went on leave at like 6 months. I don't anticipate going off that early but I know I'm going to be huge and uncomfortable!

I have a sedentary office job. I worked in the office until 29 weeks when I was hospitalized for PTL. From then until I delivered at 38+4, I worked full time remotely from my bed at home.

I have a sedentary office job as well. I worked until 34 weeks for pre-e, when I was put on bed rest. If I could have worked from home, I would have.
