I accidentally stayed up until Midnight but was talking to DH so I missed the ball drop. This is the first year in forever that I didn't watch the rockin eve special.

Happy New Year!
We’re spending the day lysoling the house because the baby has had some questionable diapers and my mom and cousin who we saw on Sunday have been throwing up all night/this morning so I’m trying to stop the spread of the whole family being taken out by a stomach bug. Wonderful start to 3019 and great for my anxiety.

Happy New Year!
I intended to watch the ball drop in New York at 11, but DD decided that 10:53 would be a grand time to wakeup, so I missed it. Then fell asleep with her until 12:05 when we both woke up to a fireworks medley in the neighborhood, so missed that one too. Oh well.

I stayed up until 11:30 watching Black Mirror. I couldn't bring myself to watch the NYE ball drop because Jenny McCarthy was cohosting 😂 maybe that's a bit extra but oh well.

We were trying to figure out what is her deal. She's always been wacky but seemed moreso to us last night. Maybe we just haven't seen her in a few years?

Happy New year!
I had a bunch of people bet last night. Today I am tired and I am getting sick.
This morning we took a little trip to the ER. The baby slammed his dumb in between two parts of a toy. It was red and looked funny so to the ER we went. Thankfully it was nothing and it’s just badly bruised. He is using it for the most part so I say he is ok.

We stayed up until 2:30am New Years Eve binge watching Manifest. Of course the kids were up at 6am. Ugh.
Back at work today after almost a week and a half off. I definitely needed a break from my kids and I think they would probably say the same. Haha

We're still cosleeping. I may or may not be encouraging the baby to sleep sideways to push H out of bed and irritate him enough that he stops trying to undermine my attempts to get her to sleep in her crib.

Why doesn’t he want her in her crib? Because then she would be alone. I'm convinced that there is more behind it, but he won't address. He just thinks I'm a monster or something and that I'm trying to treat her like she's 4 by sleep training her. It's become a thing.

I’ve had a lot of comments like ‘seriously, he’s not a year yet’? He’s walking all over the place and is as tall as some of the two year olds we know. But he only started putting food in his mouth a few weeks ago, so clearly still a baby lol.

I think G has potty trained!!!
She has had one accident at home in the last week. She had two accidents at school yesterday but it was her first day back since potty training. Today, she had no accidents at school. I am so freakin proud of her.

She wore undies, and peed in the potty for the first time ever. I am so excited. We’re going out for ice cream to celebrate. 😀🎉🤸♀️

We used a combination of cookies and a sticker chart. It took sooooo much bribing but once it she started, it was like magic. Good luck!

Baby is such a tease. She either sleeps 12 hours straight or wakes up multiple times. I can’t figure her out. She still sleeps in a zipadee zip because when she is really tired or upset she still gets vicious with her finger nails. She is currently slapping me with a wet ‘flipper’ because she has been sucking on it and I’m way more annoyed than I should be. But 3am. 🙄
I’m also very curious to see where we fall on the growth charts, because I think she’s made a big jump! She discovered the joys of cheese, Mac n cheese and spaghetti and can put away food like I’ve never seen. I think she’s maybe gained like 2.5 pounds since her nine month appointment? Maybe more. Definitely the most she’s gained since she was 4 months old. I’m a little scared to wean though because she pushes most cups away or just plays with them.

Hi Friends! Happy belated New Year!! I hope everyone had a great holiday- and that all the LO's that had their first birthdays the past week or two had great birthdays!
Between the holidays, an out of town wedding, and an NYE trip, I feel like the past two weeks were a blur and I haven't checked in as much. I am sad the holidays are over- but ready to RELAX and get back to normal, lol.

For the babies that are under a year still, how many bottles a day is your LO getting? DS is 10.5 months and we are at 4 bottles still. Usually at 8, 12, 4, and then one before bed at 730 or 8. When did you start eliminating bottles? He still LOVES them so I worry this will be hard! I'm especially worried about bedtime. He falls asleep in his crib on his own fine, but he gets a bottle first and I also love that bonding time.

I need to switch 2 of the bottles to sippys (the mealtime bottles), I am just lazy and haven't gotten there yet!! ETA: don't stress about the bedtime bottle, DD2 took one until 18 months! Precious Little Sleep blog has a great weaning method for bedtime bottles that we followed for her.

Our pediatrician made it sound like I should have all bottles totally gone at 12 months and it was totally stressing me out lol. I think I will keep the bedtime one longer! And hopefully soon he gets more interested in sippy cups and doesn't throw them all on the floor 😂

We’re still at 3 bottles, am and pm nursing and 1-2 overnights at least.
I mean. Liv will just get a milk sippy instead of a milk bottle. So. 🤷🏼♀️

pinkcat, have you tried the 360 ones? Those are the only ones we've ever tried (I think) with both of our kiddos and they "got it" really easily. I think a lot of my friends have found the same. Are you putting formula in them or water? Could be lots of things he doesn't like...the taste of water (if that is what you are offering), or the temperature, or whatever. You have plenty of time! From what I understand, my doc doesn't care about bottles/pacifiers until about age 2.

Did I mention starting Adriene's "Dedicate" program in the goals thread? I started it this week and I'm liking it! Better than "True" so far, I think. Is anyone else doing it? I am not doing it every day, more like 2-3 times a week, we'll see how much I can do with my time available and other workouts.

pinkcat I’m still nursing 5 times a day and really don’t plan to push dropping any until after she’s one.

Why doesn't he put a mattress in her nursery and sleep there lol!? I mean not really buuuuut actually... I personally couldn't handle co-sleeping that long. (And I did co-sleep with both of mine - for about 6 months with my first and 3 with this one.)

He falls asleep in his crib on his own fine, but he gets a bottle first and I also love that bonding time. My older son drank milk out of bottles until like a month ago... And he is 2 years, 9 months. My pedi wanted us off bottles at 12 months and I just nodded and smiled. He was so attached to his bottles and that was his only "comfort object." (Never used a paci, sucked his thumb, had a lovey or attachment item, etc.) Granted this is also my child who still nurses briefly (just comfort nurses, I don't produce anything anymore) before nap and bedtime. I just really didn't see the harm in him still using a bottle as he didn't have them in bed and always had his teeth brushed after drinking them. I just decided it wasn't worth the battle and what was it really hurting?? About a month ago he just one day asked for milk out of a cup and bam that was that (we had offered many many times before but he refused). Not that you want to follow in my footsteps lol, but I def would not stress about it. I'm really glad we never took the bottles away from him earlier and had a huge battle over it since once he was ready it was easy-peasy.
