Flying home today. The flight here went fine except my baby formula tested positive for explosives so I got to spend an hour of quality time with TSA and held up our whole plane 🙄 hope the trip back is a little smoother!! Good grief!! My Spectra pump tested positive for something on my way to Mexico in September. 🙄

Sooo DD1s cold went downhill yday. We ended up taking her to the ER (because the pediatric urgent care wasnt open). She has pneumonia, yall. (The big one.) But wtf. My life. Today PECO came out bc we've been experiencing flickering lights all thru the house. Turns out there's major corrosion in our meter box and the neutral wire in the breaker box is fried. $2000 out the door in a week to fix it all. While they're doing it we're having them upgrade the house to 200amp service. We're planning to sell in ~ 2 years so it will be good for that. I'm so done with this year. I am so so sorry!! Prayers for the baby and that she heals quickly! Sorry about the wires.

Just dropped the baby at daycare and am off to pedicures and lunch with my brother and aunt. This is the only day we have the baby at daycare over the holidays so might go to a movie with my husband this afternoon.

Ugh... I got my course evals for fall and one student referred to my class as a joke. Hard not to take it personally. I have a lot to get done this morning but I'm sitting on my butt watching Fuller House because cramps as killing me.
Also... my baby turns one tomorrow! Eeek!

jessijean, don't put too much into one eval! I try to look at the repeated comments and incorporate that feedback in the next semester if possible...

Happy birthday to your boy, jessijean! Speaking of birthdays...talk to me everyone about the Winter ONEderland theme. I just made some invitations using this template on Shutterfly. I plan on just having tons of snowflakes everywhere and will likely get my students at school to help me make them!! What else? Anything for favors? I was thinking a simple snowflake ornament maybe and something sweet in a treat bag. We don't go big on the theme usually, just a couple of little nods to it. We will do chili as a meal and cake or cupcakes, just stuff that is tasty but easy to prep ahead of time so we can enjoy our company and not run around in the kitchen during the party. (by we I mean I....I do most of the party planning/prep but DH pitches in with getting the house ready)

My sister is making snowflake cookies and we'll have winter themed plates and such. I think we're planning on BBQ catering. We did it for my baby shower and it was a hot and so easy for us.

OMG, Target holiday clearance for the win on snowflake items. I got a small white tinsel tree and a bunch of cute snowflake ornaments to give as favors. Oh and a cardboard snowflake cake platter.

We managed to go out to dinner with both boys last night and both actually sat and ate long enough for me to eat my food! Win!

I hate this stage so much. J is always getting into stuff, eating stuff she shouldn't be, or crying. I can't sit for more than 30 seconds without having to chase her away from something. I'm exhausted.

peachesncream Yesterday morning E managed to take a bite of soap, grab the toilet brush stand, find crumbly styrofoam, and crawled quickly towards the top of the stairs while the gate was open. I swear I’m not a horrible mom. Was just trying to do literally anything (give her big sister a bath, load dishwasher, nothing fancy) and baby would not stop getting into things. Did you know she likes to find the dirtiest, grimiest crevices in the floor of our old kitchen and dig her fingers into them? Whhhhyyyyyyy.

peachesncream bassa I always say if you lose something on the floor, just invite a baby over. They are 100% sure to find whatever it is you lost and then try to eat it. Never fails.

Ugh sorry bassa but I feel better knowing people can commiserate. I took the Christmas tree down so there's less she can get into now and DH said he would help me pseudo baby proof a little better. It is just hard because I want her to be able to play with her older sisters and I don't want them to be bored, but also her favorite thing to do is to eat my cookbooks so I am at my wit's end 😂

Thinking about J/F18 moms getting pregnant again has me wondering....who else has not gotten their period back yet? I thought I was getting it back in November, but it just turned out to be some spotting. I feel like my body's trying again right now b/c I'm getting some PMS signs (night sweats, a couple of pimples trying to make an appearance) but no period for me yet.

easternshoregirl, I haven't gotten mine either. But, I'm still breastfeeding so there's that. I was really irregular before DD then I became very regular. Interested to see what I'll be after I'm done breastfeeding DS.

easternshoregirl I also haven’t gotten mine yet (and still nursing). With DD1 my period came back after 14 months, so I’m not too surprised.

I'm still nursing and just got my 2nd period a few days ago. It was much longer than with my first (I had it back at 4 months with him).

DS2 puts absolutely everything in his mouth so someone pretty much has to watch him 24/7 which makes getting dinner/doing anything with DS1 a struggle. I've really struggled this time around actually because I can't get back into a routine of doing anything because unless he has free reign he's not happy. We try to clean as much as we can but since everything goes in his mouth it's hard.

I have managed to cook and clean for all the people I have coming over. The baby has a cold and is teething like crazy. We are still in potty training mode with G. Today has been a challenge to say the least.

Omg. What’s the word for when you’re hosting both your parents and your in-laws and your H is pissed off at his family who we’ve seen every day this break because his brother is in town from far away and your MIL corners you to put you in the middle of her drama with H while the baby cries because she needs a nap and the toddler is screaming at your parents over nothing?
Not “hell” but one of those realms close to it?

I also am on my 2nd pp period now. With ds1 it was 15 months though. I think I only had 2 periods in between.

Also haven’t gotten my period back. Thankful for that because with irregular cycles I’ve had maybe 10 or 12 since... 2009?? Not looking forward to having them somewhat consistently for the next long chunk of time. I’m also still really struggling with not having any more babies. Like, I keep hoping maybe we’ll have a post vasectomy whoops miracle. We have four kids, it’s plenty and DH was 10000% done. But I would have 1-2 more. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
