Things fizzled out last night. I’m hoping they pick back up today.
I am so tired.

I’m going to do this countdown daily...so today is the last thursday i’ll be pregnant! Yay🎉 I hope this is true for me too! I had my 39w appointment today and I'm waiting for the doc to call and schedule my induction. He did a membrane sweep today. Apparently I'm only 2 cm, but I was 80% effaced two weeks ago and today he said she's very low, he felt a head. GET OUT GET OUT! You are so close!

Anyone else been dilated 3-4cm for weeks before labor actually started? I was at 3cm for 3 weeks, and at a 4 when I went in for my induction.

Anyone else been dilated 3-4cm for weeks before labor actually started? I was at 3 two weeks ago, 4 as of yesterday’s appt, and no sign of baby yet. ☹️ I really thought I was having real contractions last night, but nope.

Anyone else been dilated 3-4cm for weeks before labor actually started? I hate to be another disappointed but I was 4cm for two weeks and ended with an induction. At least it was a smooth and fairly quick labor, so there’s that 😬🤷🏼♀️. I am sending all the labor vibes to you ladies though.

I am already dreading next weeks appointment. I don’t even know if I want to hear if I’m dilated or not. I don’t want to be disappointed if I’m not after all these stupid contractions, but I also don’t want to get my hopes up if I do since I’ve never gone into labor on my own even though I’ve been dilated for weeks with both my other kids. Such a mindfuck.

I’m going to be upset on Monday if I go in and I’m still not dilated. It’ll be the exact same situation as with DS1 and that was a very traumatic experience for me.
I’m hoping for things to go much better this time around. I’m so exhausted I’m just ready to be done.

I wasn’t going to have them check my cervix because it was pointless with DD. I wasn’t dilated at all at my 39 week appointment, and it was super upsetting, and then she basically came on her due date. So I had people all up in my business for no reason.
But, since the jury has been out on dude’s breech status, I might have to let them at my 36 week appointment. OB said they can usually tell at 36 weeks via cervical check and belly feel or, if they’re still not sure, they’ll roll in the ultrasound machine. So, I might have to agree to that one check.

Hugs to everyone stressing! I know how frustrating it is to feel a lot of contractions and then find out it hasn’t really caused any change.

I really am hoping to at least get another week or two of her inside before she makes an appearance. Okay with an induction at 39 weeks if she doesn’t. Really I just want to get past DS party tomorrow and then hoping they don’t share a birthday on the 11th!!

I just got home from L&D because I haven’t been feeling right since last night. Super uncomfortable and tons of pressure
I am completely effaced and a fingertip dilated. The nurse suspects I have a UTI but my tests didn’t show it. I feel like a complete Idiot not know what the hell to expect because I have never been this pregnant before. You ladies that are almost due, due or over due are my hero’s

I actually do have a UTI, so I’m assuming it was pain from that. It can be so hard to tell, unless your water breaks everywhere.

Nobody is allowed to feel like an idiot. I made my husband drive me to the hospital at 1AM, sat in the parking lot for 10 minutes, then went home without ever going in. It can be confusing!

I’m hoping for things to go much better this time around. I’m so exhausted I’m just ready to be done. Can I just tell you something? My second delivery went pretty badly compared to my dream delivery with my oldest. When I was pregnant with my third I was so stressed out thinking about it going like it did with my second pregnancy. My cousin pulled me to the side and told me "what is the worst that can happen? It goes like it did last time, but guess what? You did it, you survived it, and you can do it again if you need to". And guess what? It went just like my second pregnancy, but I wasn't as stressed because she was right, I had done it before and I could do it again if I had to, and I did. Now, this may not be all applicable to you because of certain situations so please ignore if you feel this does not apply. But if it does, you got this girl, you've done it once and you can do it again!

At least you kind of know what to expect and it makes you feel a bit more in control and a little less scared. When it's all over and you're snuggling that sweet baby it will all be worth it. ❤️

I was having those weird contractions again this evening, but they fizzled out again.
While slightly frustrating I’m kind of excited since I never had any of this with DS1. I’m hoping this means my body is actually doing something.

Add me to the feeling like an idiot club. I took the day off yesterday to try and rest because I literally had slept about 3 hours in 2 days and was at the point where I could not function. Later in the day I got up from sitting down and had a gush of fluid come out, enough to alarm me. It got on my hands and underwear. I knew I did not pee myself. My water broke with N but it was def more with him. Then I had diarrhea and felt crampy. Called the OB and got sent to L&D. Water didn’t break and I was having irregular contractions. The nurse told me sometimes you can spring a leak and it literally plugs itself right back up.
I.......was unaware that could happen.

Why is this so complicated? lol

It is so reassuring to see how many others feel just as new as I do. Even with this being my third baby I question every single twinge, contraction, slight pink or brown streak, or whatever else. My poor H is so patient with me when I call him at work all day and night to tell him my symptoms that surely mean I’m going into labor soon. I’m annoyed with myself. Only 4ish more weeks of this nonsense at least. ladybrienne sorry you had to take a trip to l&d. I hope you can get some rest too. Pregnancy insomnia and the inability to get and stay comfortable sucks.

I was hoping my body might spontaneously go into labor with this one... now all my hopes are in the induction basket. Doctors supposed to call this weekend to let me know if it will be Sunday/Monday or Wednesday/Thursday. Moving hurts so bad I'm hoping for earlier, but because of work things a little later would maybe help.

I don't think it matters how many times you've done this before because each birth can be such a diferrent experience. My first experience was great, my second and third ended up having to be inductions because my water broke both times before labor started. This time I'm hoping to not have to be induced (pitocin is the devil and my body doesn't handle epidurals great) so I've desperately been trying to get my body to cooperate. Every twinge I have I'm like yeah this could be it! And then ... Nothing. No one should feel dumb or new!
