October??? How???
This pregnancy is half over on Thursday and we have our A/S Monday. H and I had discussed that if this is a girl, we'll probably be done having kids. If not, we may try one more time or look into adoption. But lately, H has changed his mind and said he's done at 3 kids regardless. I'm not there. I don't know how to get there, really. He wants to get a vasectomy done but I've asked him to hold off until I can get to the same decision as him.
But anyway. More pressing concerns. What is everyone doing for costumes?? Are you even participating in Halloween that way?

Confession: I kind of hate Halloween. I love decorating but have never enjoyed costumes. Although I did have fun the last couple years with having a bump and small kid to dress up. Now I’m back to blah about costumes. I don’t think ds truly gets the concept of dressing up yet? When I ask he says “pumpkin” and sometimes follows that up with “ghost” but I can’t tell if he wants to be a pumpkin or just associates that with Halloween. We did have a blast putting up the decorations and starting some of the themed crafts.
Mh’s family has a big themed party that we’re missing but the kids are going to. The theme is Wild West this year. The kids will be cows. I’m going to cut out black spots and glue/sew them on white onesies and put both kids in jeans.

Half over thelittleredm? It feels like just yesterday you and meeggaannw were telling us the news! Hope you have been feeling well! Speaking of the big ✂️ Mh just scheduled his for the end of the month. I know it’s the right decision for our family to be done at two but I’m still sad about it.

Halfway already thelittleredm?!? I feel you on the mixed feelings about being done. I mean, after almost 2 years, I’m just now getting ok with the fact that we’re done and still refuse to let H move forward with a vasectomy. I looooooove Halloween and so far DS seems to share my excitement. We’re going to make a paper chain to count down tonight bc he asks if it’s Halloween yet every single day. He decided in July that he’s going to be Dash from the Incredibles and M will be Jack Jack (not Violet 😂). They are both in love with their costumes and wear them as often as possible. I had hoped for one more year of me picking the costumes/avoiding characters but his excitement is a nice consolation prize haha. Our latest excitement has been the head lice that DS brought home from daycare. It managed to stay contained to him and H somehow. We had them both professionally treated and M & I professionally checked and after our follow up appointment yesterday, it appears to be completely gone. But it made for a very stressful week of constant cleaning last week and H was OOT which made it even harder. Thank goodness it’s now an option to pay someone to treat everybody because I don’t think I could have handled endless combing of DS’s hair on top of the cleaning!

Also we have family pictures coming up in a couple weeks and I’m stuck on what to have DS (3 yo) wear. Here are the outfits for the rest of us: H and I will be in jeans and I’m thinking magenta leggings under M’s dress. We will be outside. Any ideas?

Ummm hi! In about 3 weeks i will have a 2 year old! Her party theme is Minnie Mouse She is being Minnie Mouse for Halloween. School celebrates Halloween on the 26th for some reason. The day after her birthday and the day before her party. Oy. We are no dressing up. thelittleredm wow half way baked it’s going by so fast. So many of my friends recently announced they are expecting their second who have kids around Emi’s age. I feel some pants of jealously sometimes I wonder if Emi will be sad she doesn’t have a sibling. I’m waiting another year or two before I ask H to get snipped.

carrots maybe a jeweled green? I’d go button down or partial button down/polo like your H’s shirt. I don’t know how you feel about a patterned shirt like a light plaid? I can’t decide if that’s be too busy with the dress or if there should be another pattern so the dress pattern doesn’t stand out as much.

Hi strangers! DD1 is going to be a colorful witch. DD2 will either be a ladybug or batman because we have the costumes.

Anxiously awaiting pictures back now haha. How did your pictures from last month turn out? OMG. Honestly, not good. Thank god I was not paying for it (it was mil's Christmas present from fil). There were several different factors that created this disaster starting with cracker eating sil not listening to the photographer or me about the timing. She picked 11 am on a sunny day which was not ideal for lighting or cooperative children. Squinty faces and awkward sun patches/lighting abound! It needed to be earlier or in the evening but she refused to budge on it. The photographer did her best with editing the light, I will give her that. An uncontrollable factor was the wind which resulted in not good hair situations all around. I looked at the photographer's page afterwards and her specialties are weddings and newborns, those pictures are gorgeous. I don't think she had a lot of experience in larger groups with kids yet. I thought her compositions were awkward and there was a bunch of stuff that I ended up asking to change and it should have been her that caught it. Stuff like changing up grandpop in a white polo holding the baby in a white polo, spoiler: that baby is lost in the photo. Or these random pieces of long field grass that block the kids faces on an otherwise perfect shot, no way she didn't see it in her view finder. When we got the proofs, my mil said she thought I could have done a better job. Honestly, I think I could have with my 4 years of photography club and it being a personal hobby. I could not have done the editing though. There is one full group picture we all like. I'm not crazy about any of my immediate family shots, one is acceptable. And my kid ones are fine I guess.

In other news, dd has an opthamalogy appointment tomorrow because out of now where, her left eye has started crossing like woah. I’m dreading it because last time it took three of us to hold her down for the drops. Sighs. I’m not even sure if they’ll do drops again. The spot screening at the pediatrician said her vision was fine so who knows.

What cutie peaseblossom55! She looks like she’s having a blast. And so much hair! Dd’s is still pretty short and everyone thinks she’s a boy 😂 In other news, dd needs glasses. Her eyesight is fine but one eye is turning in and evidently the solution is corrective lens. I totally thought we were going to be told to patch. So I guess I’ll be spending the weekend researching baby glasses since glasses stores only have two pairs to try on. Boo.

Lakes thank you. I’m sorry dad needs glasses hopefully you can find something online that will work. I found a place that had the brand I was looking at online! Unfortunately due to her tiny head and wide nose bridge she couldn’t wear the pair I wanted. The doc just couldn’t get a good fit 😭 they were more rectanglar and looked cuter than the rounder shaped ones we ended up with. I got them in red because if we have to do this, we might as well go bold. I really wanted a librarian look to go with her cute sweaters and dresses but ended up with, much to mh’s delight, Harry Potter glasses 😂

Happy birthday to E peaseblossom55! She is so precious! I bet she looks so cute in her glasses Lakes! But I can’t imagine how hard it is to convince an almost 2 year old to wear glasses. Oof.

I am legit sad about the style right now. But mh got his vasectomy yesterday and I have my period plus basically solo parenting so I’m alllll up in my feelings. I am dreading when we get the actual glasses, he said by Thursday. She did okay for short stretches of time at the pool with her sunglasses the other week for vacation so 🤞🏼
