Argyle thank you, I really appreciate the thought that went into your response. They also have a four year old - based on your experience is there anything that was beneficial for you? Kids books on grief of anything you can think of? I'm afraid I don't have much here but I'll try. Nobody gave me any books that I can recall (my parents were pretty lost--the basics took all their energy). My biggest source of comfort at the time was my older brother, which it sounds like the four year old won't have. At 4 a child might understand death, but the strong majority won't--so they may actually be jealous of their younger sibling, who is suddenly getting all this attention (this happened to my sister, who was I think 3 when our brother died. She was jealous of the pinwheels he got on his grave, that kind of thing). So I would say, giving him attention and playing with him as close to normally as you can. If he has standing activities or playdates, helping get him to those so they keep happening. I'm sorry, I wish there was more either of us could say or do. Edit: I realized I don't know the sex of the four year, tried changing to him/her/they but it got confusing so I'm just leaving it

DD1 is 2yrs 4mos and still uses a pacifier. Well she’s started biting them and the nipple breaks, so we’ve told her once she breaks them all we’re done. We’re done to the last one 😬

We’re done to the last one 😬 The end of the pacifier was a lot easier than we expected. I was all ready for a long night with wine and ice cream on standby. She whined for a few minutes and... that was that. Like, done. H and I were all, “Oh.” I think we ditched the paci a few months before she turned 2 at the urging of the pedi because her front teeth were starting to get weird. FX once the last paci is broken, it’s easy-roast! ETA: I typed easy-peasy and autocorrect wasn’t having it, but roast is making me laugh. Leaving it.

We’re done to the last one 😬 That is about the age DS was when I finally took the pacifier away. Night sleep for us wasn’t affected but naps did take 3-4 days to get back on track. Definitely not as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck!

So this morning I woke up and my stomach completely dropped. Then this evening I had clear discharge but like...it kept coming for a bit.
I'm going back and forth on messaging my doctor. I feel like a ftm but I didn't go into labor on my own with my last two.

I feel like a ftm but I didn't go into labor on my own with my last two. I also had a very interesting night last night. Lots of v painful contractions and some things going on down below that I’ll leave to your imagination. At one point I was considering going to the hospital but I waited it out bc I didn’t know what to do with DS. Eventually it all tapered off overnight. With all that happening & knowing I was already dilating at my appt last week I find myself wondering if I should ask my mom to go ahead & come out so I don’t have to worry about DS. On the other hand, I worry I won’t go into labor for 2 more weeks or something and she’ll have come out for nothing. I didn’t go into labor alone with my first DS either, so I’m very 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️.

Our whole house is having a really bad case of the Mondays that is running into today. Bad moods all around. DS1 kept falling asleep yesterday afternoon and struggled through his homework then went to bed an hour early. DS2 has been whiny and not eating that much. Then I ate dinner last night and was doing ok until right before bed when I threw it all up.
Hopefully tonight will be better for everyone.

Are we really here? Really about to have some kids? Ah! The posts this morning have me excited and anxious and squee!
For what it’s worth, as someone who went into labor on her own, what had me calling the doctor was timetable contractions. My water didn’t break until I was 5cm and in the hospital. In hindsight, the contractions started intermittently the night before. I felt them here and there when grocery shopping that morning. I took a nap and, when I woke up, realized things were a lot more rhythmic. Started timing on my phone. Once they were within several minutes of each other, consistently for an hour, I called the OB for direction. Off we went to the hospital and 12 hours later... BABY! I didn’t have any noticeable vaginal stuff go down. It was the contractions that alerted me that it was go time.

DD has croup and laryngitis. Weeeee. After two doses of oral steroids, a cool mist humidifier, and a plug-in Vapo thing, she slept through the night. I woke up at 5 a.m. in a panic, thinking something was terribly wrong. She was fine. Her squeaky little voice cracked me up, though. She’s with her grandparents today. Looks like they’ve gotten her to eat, so progress is being made.

My labor was similar to yours, although my water didn't break until just before I started pushing. I just had contractions that started out far apart, but were pretty consistent and kept getting closer together. I'm definitely having more random BH this pregnancy, but not more than a 2 or 3 in an hour, if that. Seems to happen most often when I'm driving, so it may have to do with positioning.

Omg quijibo croup voice is the most pitiful thing! Last spring I took DS to urgent care for what I suspected was croup & as soon as he opened his mouth to speak in that squeaky voice they were like... YEP!

I just got back from my check up and dr put me on Zoloft. I feel so relieved. For some weird reason, I’m always hesitant to bring up depression/meds, but once I do, I feel like a weight is lifted.

You just reminded me to ask about this at my next appt! I definitely want to get ahead of everything this time.

So after my fall last week they did an ultrasound and rhogam shot as a precaution.
This week we did a follow up ultrasound. My fluid went down from 8.7 to 7.5 in a week’s time. My OB is cautious, but not to the point of being concerned. I’m drinking a crap ton of water to hopefully keep things manageable. BUT if it goes down that much again by the time I have my repeat ultrasound next week it will be close to 5 and talk of early induction.. I’m trying to relax, but I’m so nervous.
Ultimately I want him to get here safely, but I really don’t want to be induced again. And I don’t want any complications. I didn’t have fluid issues last time and I’m not exactly sure what that means health wise for L.

notelsie, I totally understand not wanting to be induced again. I hope that your fluid stays steady this week and you're able to avoid it!

ladybrienne adorable!! notelsie I’m sorry you are having to worry about your fluid levels now. My fluid levels dropped a bit after my car accident with DS2 while I was being closely monitored. I upped my water intake a ton and tried to take it easy and they went back up at the next visit. Measuring fluid isn’t an exact science either so different u/s techs might get a different measurement. I hope that your fluid measure is back up at the next appt!
