{Spoiler} Well, the beta came back- it is officially positive, but lower than I was hoping. It came back at 27.8. We will see what Tuesday brings. I just want this to work so bad 😥- I just keep praying. It’s totally out of my hands. Thank you guys for all of the support over the last 4 years.Well, the beta came back- it is officially positive, but lower than I was hoping. It came back at 27.8. We will see what Tuesday brings. charliefox, thank you. I actually sent a text to the doc I work for- he replied CONGRATS! I'm so excited for you! When I told him how scared I was he gently reminded me- ***- you wouldn't have even missed your period yet. That number is encouraging to me. Don't be scared. Enjoy every moment.

bonzo & skidevil87, FET question. Did you have to do BC? When did you start it? My IVF coordinator was supposed to call me back today to discuss FET. She didn't, and she's off tomorrow. Currently CD3. I'm just wondering if it turns out I'm allowed to jump right into an FET cycle then would I be starting BC like today? I guess I'm curious how much I should bug the nurses/my doc tomorrow for answers.

charliefox, I did 3 weeks of BCP prior to my FET. Can you call the nurse line to get answers? At my clinic if my nurse is out, any of the others can still look at my chart to answer questions.

Thanks for responding! What cycle day did you start BC? I'm going to bug them today. My coordinator handles all IVF/FET stuff and is most knowledgeable, the other nurses can look at my chart but I won't really expect them to have answers for me, hopefully they can chat with my RE today though. I was looking into it last night and I'm not sure BC is necessary (I'd REALLY like to avoid it, I felt worse on BC then I have on any other fertility med) but that would mean riding out this cycle, otherwise if they require BC and I don't have to have a cycle in between then I could potentially start today. IF gives a whole new meaning to advocating for yourself.

I hope you’re able to get this all figured out today.

**grad warning** charliefox I did not take BC in between cycles, which meant I usually had an “off”’cycle while waiting for the next CD1. At the next CD1, I would go in for baseline and my plan. Hope you get in touch with your RE today!

Thanks so much! Retrieval went well. Eleven eggs retrieved, which was better than I thought so I’m happy. I’ll get the fertilization report tomorrow and then we’ll decide on 3 or 5 day transfer. So for now I’m just trying to rest.

champagne, yay for 11 eggs!!! Rest up! I'll be thinking good thoughts for your next report. Finally got a call back from the nurse, I have a baseline ultrasound tomorrow morning, then a call with my coordinator at 2pm, then hopefully starting meds tomorrow! The gal that I spoke too sounded like she totally knew what was up and was all on top of it and I kept trying to ask questions (I left a voicemail earlier explaining everything) so I really hope she knows I'm coming right off an IVF cycle? I really hope I don't show up tomorrow only to have them tell me nope! lol. I also need to look at my insurance stuff, if they didn't get approval for an FET then we'll have to do that first and I'll cancel the appointment. Blargh.

I guess I'm curious how much I should bug the nurses/my doc tomorrow for answers. Usually they start your OCPs between day 3-5- honestly, it's pretty arbitrary. They use the OCP to not only downregulate you, but mostly to group you with other people going through FETs

champagne , yay for 11! As for me- {Spoiler} beta came back at 51. So, I'm kind of in beta hell at this point. Another blood draw on Thursday. I'm hopeful, but realistic. Edit: for gratitude. I am only 13dp5dt. If this were a normal cycle for me, I would have just missed my period today. I need to keep remembering- they find out really early. I have to trust/respect the process although, I know too much.

charliefox yay for answers! I’m glad you have a plan in place. I hope your appointment goes well. skidevil87 that’s encouraging. I think it is good to remember how early you still are. Even though that’s much easier said then done. Rooting for you!

skidevil87, I know that’s not quite doubling, but it’s still a very good rise! Continuing to cross everything that your betas keep rising! charliefox, I hope you get the insurance figured out so there’s no delay in starting! I seem to have developed an allergic reaction to the adhesive in my Vivelle patches. They’ve always gotten itchy on the second day, but now I have red rashes where I removed the patches yesterday morning. It got redder as the day went on, and it’s still red and itchy this morning. I’ve already emailed my nurse with a picture, so hopefully we’ll figure something out. Doing these patches for another 2 months sounds awful.

So we won't be able to get prior authorization in time to jump into an FET cycle. I have a call with my coordinator this afternoon to figure it all out. Blargh. skidevil87, can I pick your brain? (not for medical advice just for info, lol) I've googled but can't find an answer, why exactly do you need to down regulate before a FET? I mean, won't they put you on something so that you don't ovulate anyway? Since you aren't trying to grow follicles that are similar in size it doesn't really matter what your follicles are doing as long as you don't O on your own during an FET cycle, right? Maybe I'm missing a big piece but it doesn't make sense to me. Also, do you know anything about a natural cycle FET? I don't know if my clinic does them but I'm curious, my lining is always great and I ovulate on my own (fairly predictable) so as long as timing is right, I feel like that should be just as good? I hate all this hormonal manipulation.

I hate all this hormonal manipulation. Well, it's not technically down regulation. We just want your body to stay at baseline- We don't want you to grow follicles- They use the OCPs to batch their patients because odds are they only do FETs on certain days. The OCPs give us nurses control. If your follicles are growing, then you risk releasing LH. The natural FET is really just doctor choice, honestly. It's all a control issue

charliefox...have you ask your doc about doing a natural FET cycle. I was able to do one when I requested that with my doc. Worth a shot to ask them!

charliefox...have you ask your doc about doing a natural FET cycle. I was able to do one when I requested that with my doc. Worth a shot to ask them! I asked my coordinator about it. She said they’ve only done a few, it’s tough because the lab only allows for a certain amount of frozen transfers per day since they only have capabilities to unfreeze so many embryos at a time. So a natural FET runs the risk of being cancelled, and it would most likely be done by another doc. If this FET fails I may push for a natural one with our last embryo. I’m not anti medicine or anything, lol, I jus hate all the hormones.

I got my fertilization report today it was... not good. Out of 11 eggs- 2 were immature, 6 didn’t fertilize, and only 3 did. I’m crushed. I know I’m not out yet but the odds aren’t great.

{Spoiler} so, it's still not strong, but I'm at 115. I'll have another beta on Sunday. If that number has appropriately doubled, then I will have an early US next Thursday to rule out an ectopic.
