Busy morning. H and I spent some time purging and packing the basement. He had way more stuff to go through, so after a bit i took DD outside to play in her pool and with the water table. I threw on a suit and played in the pool with her.
We're all showered and finishing up lunch. DD will go down for a nap and we'll probably go out for dinner.

DD is napping and I'm about to try to take a nap on the couch. We made a card for DH who passed out on the couch last night, she ran and yelled wake up daddy, I have a present for you! It was so cute... we did breakfast out and went to a new to us playground. Later we are making homemade burgers and I'm going to be ambitious and make strawberry shortcake for dessert.

DH should be coming back sometime this afternoon from his golf trip. I'm glad he got this time to go but it was a lot harder soloing with a 2 year old than the previous years he went! Dinner tonight will be burgers (probably) and I need to get my act in gear and plan meals for the rest of the week before grocery shopping tomorrow.

Hi all! We've had a busy weekend. Today is my birthday so H and I spent the day spoiling each other. My day included a boat ride and a cookie cake, so I'm a happy momma! I also leave for the beach on Thursday so looking forward to a short week at work. I hope all the O17 dads had a great Father's Day!

Father's Day started out well with a trip to the beach. But then DH and I had a stupid fight in the afternoon. We tried to salvage the day by taking DS to the duck pond, but he started freaking out when they started swarming us. Now I feel like just going to bed, even without eating.

Another busy weekend. Friday I drove to my parents' house (DS was there for the week). Spent the day with family and then had dinner with friends that night. It was so cute seeing our kids play together and it was awesome to catch up with old friends. Saturday was busy, spent the morning on the lake boating and "fishing" (DS just likes it when we cast the line and then he just reels it in). The afternoon was BBQing by the pool with family, then DS and I drove home so we could be with H all day yesterday. My in-laws came over yesterday for lunch. When we were in Boston last weekend we bought a bunch of beers at Trillium for FIL. DS "helped" him open his gift. DS keeps yelling, "Cold beer! YAYYYY!!!" over and over. I hope he doesn't do it at daycare.
After traveling the last 4 weekends I'm looking forward to a weekend at home this weekend.

This is very true, the part about a weekend alone with a toddler being harder than a baby. My DS1 is four now and a weekend alone with him would seem like a vacation compared to DS2 at 2.5 so there's definitely a tipping point in there somewhere. |
