We've been having DS sleep in the swing exclusively lately and his sleep has definitely improved. However, I kind of feel like I'm cheating... We'll fix it with sleep training, right? Ha. I feel like this. “Cheating” with the auto RNP. Sleep is sleep though.

I don’t know if I want to spend my last week of maternity leave prepping DS for crib naps or just KOKO and enjoy my time.

I was up until some time after 2 AM with a squirmy crying baby. He's better today but I already warned DH that if F does the same thing tonight, it's his turn. To quote one of my residents, I look like the wreck of the Hesperus.

Is anyone thinking about transitioning from the swaddle or RNP yet? DD is somehow wriggling out of her swaddleme and is so close to rolling from back to belly. She also t ries to lift up her shoulders and head like she wants to sit up.
I tried arms out swaddle last night and she was up 3 times in an hour, so I gave up.
This is new territory for me, my DS was up every two hours until he was 9 months and I sleep trained him. We co-slept. She sleeps from 7:30-4:30/5 with no wake ups, but is swaddled and in the RNP. I don't know how to transition without sleep training. Is it just going to suck no matter what?

To quote one of my residents, I look like the wreck of the Hesperus. Mine typically won't fall asleep until 2:30am and then I'm lucky if I get a 2.5 hr stretch. The big kids start school tomorrow and I'm going to need to get up at 5:30am. This is going to suck

DD was a terrible sleeper and so far this one is too. Almost only sleeps on/with me, occasional swing nap but only if I successfully transfer him into it after falling asleep on me. I love the baby snuggles but I am dying for a longer stretch. He slept almost 5hrs once, but it's mostly 1-1.5 hour stretches with the occasional 2-2.5 stretch
I really wish I had kept the bouncer seat from DS1 that had a massaging back roller. I haven't seen any that have that feature

We also put the rock and play on the 30 minute setting instead of the 6 hour setting with the goal to have her fall asleep without any rocking.my pediatrician is firmly of the mindset though to not transition her until we sleep train otherwise it is just adding in another transition that he doesn't think is necessary since we will have to sleep train anyway.

Thankfully L has no interest in rolling yet, so we're good with swaddles for a bit still. We'll switch to Zipadeezips next, those were livesavers with V.

So when do babies start to sleep more--or get into a schedule. Right now DD is 8 weeks old, and she is still having tons of mini naps during the day--about 30-45 minutes. Once in awhile we will get a long nap. And at night she goes down around 7:30 and sleeps for a long stretch until about 12ish. Then after that she is up every two hours. I am exhausted. Always.

My DS took until 6-7 months to only wake once per night. DD is already there. She moved to her own room a week and a half ago (11.5 weeks) still in her RnP and that was when things got better.

We are still swaddling at night but she sleeps in her bassinet so I’m not too worried about a crib transition. For naps she sleeps in her swing I need to start putting her in her bed for them but I just haven’t yet

We moved E to her room. Still swaddled in dockatot. She started daycare for a few hours a day this week and hasn’t napped there but like 15 minutes the entire 4 hours she is there. They do allow sleep sacks so i ordered a zipadee zip. She goes full time to daycare next week so I’m scared.

Yes since it’s only been 4 hours a day they’ve only done one bottle each day. First day she only did 1/2oz and it took 30 minutes 2nd day she did about 2oz Today she did 1.5oz So I mean better than nothing but still not great
