Is there a 2 month sleep regression because...ugh.
The swing thing is not really doing what I hoped it would, I'm tired.
I think I may have accidentally had some dairy, and I am hoping that maybe that is the cause of some of the recent issues. Or I am just grasping at straws. Babies, man.

Why does F always try to wake up an hour before I'm ready? It's not even like he's hungry because he will go back to sleep if I insist on it

You guys, who broke my baby? Last night was awful and the previous few nights haven't been good either. I need this to turn around!

I just need sleep. DD will pretty much ONLY sleep on DH and I. Sometimes we can get a good 3 hour chunk out of her, but not often.
It is exhausting. There is no rhyme or reason to a schedule either.
I need to be able to plan my day to get stuff kiddo.

Prior to this past week, DS2 would wake up to eat every 3 hours at night & pretty much go right back to sleep. This week he wakes to eat, falls asleep nursing, & will sleep for a bit once I put him down but is so restless. I started swaddling him again last night & he did much better. DS1 never liked to be swaddled so I need to go and get me some swaddles. What does everyone recommend?

Sometimes L breaks out of them, but it’s because I did a poor job wrapping him. I used the same ones with V. My sister bought us a Zen swaddle which is great, but $$$, and I don’t think it works much better than my others.

We used to joke our kid had a murder scream when she was hungry. So glad for the return of the murder scream at 4am 😳

MauLoaM0M, O loved the SwaddleUp and L loves the Zipadee Zip. Neither are a traditional swaddle because they both wanted their hands accessible in some way. Each of them have slept better in their 'super suits' as we call them.

We have the swaddlemes which I think get the tightest swaddles, also the halo swaddlesacks which are nice because their legs are more free. We also have the swaddleup which is used most often right now.

Last night was better. We're still not down to 1 or no wake ups like some of you jerks (said with love of course) but as long as it keeps improving I'll be happy.

I just bought a zipadee zip we will see how she likes it. We’ve been using Velcro swaddlers but she wiggles her hands/arms out every night!

I realized that I spend more time trying to get DD to sleep then she actually sleeps.

F decided last night that he had to be up every 2 hours to eat, and then when I'd try to get him to latch while side lying, he'd just open his mouth and shake it on my nipple, so then I had to turn on the light and sit up and do the whole thing, only to turn around and have to do it 2 hours later. Now the little bugger is conked out in the wrap. Glad you're sleeping now kid 👍

So DD slept in the RNP from 10-3:30. I started to hear her fuss and my boobs were hurting so I picked her up to nurse. She had zero interest and passed out asleep on me. At least I got 5.5 hours sleep in my own bed. 🤷♀️

We also use the swaddleme. With DS we used the Halo sleepsack swaddles but swaddleme seem to work better for E. DH sucks at using them and she always breaks free but i wrap her up like a tight little baby burrito. We are on our 2nd week of naps in her own room. And when DH gets back tomorrow night I’m going to try her at night in her room. I go back to work in 2 weeks and I’d like her in her own room for a few reasons. Hopefully we all sleep better and also so i can get ready in the morning without waking her up.

I need to get a monitor for gems room so she can start sleeping in there and taking naps in there. Her room is upstairs and we are downstairs so I feel more hesitant about putting her up there but know she will be fine

I seriously can’t wait for the startle reflex to be gone. I think that contributes to a huge portion of her sleep issues. She hates being swaddled and fights it so much but if she isn’t swaddled the startle reflex comes out. I can’t win.

Yes-the startle reflux is super annoying when trying to transfer DD off of me for a nap/bedtime. Google tells me this doesn’t go away until 4-6 months 😳

fancynewbeesly - have you tried the swaddleup? it allows their arms to be up and has really helped LarzMini as she really fights the swaddle as well when she is laid flat.

fancynewbeesly, the zipadee zip has helped L with her startle reflex. I got it when she was 6ish weeks and sleep got much better with it. My son loved the SwaddleUp with his hands by his face and it helped similarly.

Thanks! I swear this kid will be the cause of all my anxiety. Not only does she prefer her belly she also loves sleeping with a muslin blanket that she can grasp and pull near her face.
Kid, you got to stop these shenanigans.

F barely slept last night. He was up and whining every hour or so. Not even hungry or wet. Just whining.

I’m doing my typical hold E for 20’minutes before I can put her down without her waking up thing. I kind of don’t mind it but also I need her to learn to just lay down and go to sleep. She 90% of the time puts herself to sleep for naps but nighttime she just needs some extra cuddles I guess.

I switched F's auto RNP from the continuous 6 hour rocking to the 30 minutes, just long enough to put her fully to sleep. Fx this goes well. I want to start thinking a little about the eventual crib transition.

I think we are turning a corner in sleep. Now if only I don’t fall asleep middle of the night nursing. DD sleeps so much better in her crib. She went to bed last night at 7:30 and slept til 1. Then she ate-fell back to sleep until 4. Then older DD came around 630.

We've been having DS sleep in the swing exclusively lately and his sleep has definitely improved. However, I kind of feel like I'm cheating...
We'll fix it with sleep training, right?
