It seems dairy is actually an issue for us, so I will be dairy free for a while (occasionally seeing if small amounts are okay). I am bummed, but I could really tell a difference in his comfort level the day of and after I tried to reintroduce. I don’t know if you already have snack foods picked out but original Oreos are dairy free. When we went dairy free for a while it was my saving grace for chocolate.

Okay, as a PSA/reminder to myself - don't forget to take your anti anxiety meds when you're sleep deprived. The day I had today completely proved that I needed it for sure.

I hope I don’t jinx this, but the last 2 days DS stretched his daytime feedings from every 2.5-3 hours to every 3.5 hours! That half hour has made a noticeable difference! I hope it continues 🤞

When my mom gave L a bottle of frozen milk from prior to elimination, the difference was so noticeable that I will definitely be staying off of dairy until we switch to milk. Luckily, I've gotten pretty used to it, but there are so many things I miss. My birthday is next week and I would give almost anything for cheesecake or ice cream cake.

You're stronger than me, I'm going to try and reintroduce it again after we sleep train. His pediatrician said to try again in 6 weeks to 2 months, so that should coincide well. Of course if he's still having issues I'll stay off it, but keep trying to reintroduce every so often.

E had her 4 month appt. we went ahead w vaccines even though she has a cold. No fever and just congestion and lungs were clear. I already took the day to stay home w her so for work purposes too it was easier to get them done today. She is sleeping now.
She is holding steady at her 3% in weight. Dr was pleased with her- looks great and healthy. She is a peanut at 11lbs 5.5oz. Dr Wants to increase her bottle intake at school from 3oz to 3.5-4oz to see if her weight can increase a bit but other than that, she is good. We did a stool test and it came back positive for microscopic blood so not sure if i slipped up in my diet or what. Going to be extra careful w my diet to see if that helps. She is down to 2 poops a day versus the 5+ but they are still mucousy.
Sorry lots of poop talk.

F seems to have a yeast rash on his penis that cropped up quite quickly. I slathered it in cream and put a loose diaper on. Is there anything else I can do besides changing him frequently?

I've seen a ton of moms in the dairy free breastfeeding group have to cut soy too. I'm guessing we are headed that way because DD's eczema is terrible.

Ugh, I've had a headache on and off today, and of course F was freaking right out. Comes to shower time, which he loves, so he calms down and enjoys it. We get his diaper on, all smiles. I go to put his sleeper on and he starts crying. I take it back off and he stops. So he's now laying beside me fast asleep in a diaper and wrapped in a blanket. Whatever works!

Yeah I cut major soy but I wasn’t being strict on soybean oil bc it’s usually highly refined and doesn’t usually bother people. Dr said it could be anything from eggs to gluten. She said as long as she is growing and seems happy then she isn’t too concerned

We are introducing bottles today since I go back to work in less than 2 weeks and I’m siting upstairs listening to her scream while DH tries to give her a bottle. This is going to be a fun weekend.

Good luck- it’s been a rough transition here too. We had the best luck with the lansinoh momma. He will not take a bottle from DH but will from my parents. I go back to work on Tuesday 😬

DH tried tonight for an hour with DS hysterically screaming. He took 2 oz. My parents have him next week so fx he does ok. They have both given him bottles in the last few weeks with no tears so we’ll see.

My parents have both gotten him to take 4+ oz so I’m not overly concerned since they’re watching him next week. My husband has 4 weeks off the end of this month though and I’m sweating it. DS won’t take a bottle for him and won’t calm down for him. My parents are available if it doesn’t work out but I know DH will be upset if that happens. I’m glad E is doing well with bottles now, I remember how concerned you were!

It's been really hard for me to leave the house for more than an hour if H has him, though he gives my parents no trouble. It might be something about being in our house without me. His first day of daycare is on Tuesday, so I'm hoping that once he gets used to bottles on a regular basis it'll get easier for H. Maybe that will happen for you guys too?

Maybe that will happen for you guys too? That’s our assumption- he knows it’s our house and the chair I feed him in, etc and just wants no part? I’m also not going to lie, DS generally won’t calm down for H but absolutely adores my dad. Not sure what it is, but DH and DS just haven’t bonded all that much. I’m hoping while my parents have him (3 weeks) he’ll master the bottle so that when DH has him he’ll be good to go. Hopefully it works out for you guys as well! Odd that so many of us have the exact same issue!

I'm starting to think that DH may be suffering a bit of PPD. He's been really short with me and seems uninterested in doing anything outside the house. I know he's got a lot of stress at work too, so it's really hard to say, but it feels like the last time he suffered from some depression. I'm not sure what to do with that though

I'm not sure what to do with that though I didn't realize I was having issues again until H mentioned it to me. He called me out on my anxiety and asked questions about what was causing it. He also mentioned my incredibly short temper with him. Going on meds has seriously helped. Babies are a HUGE adjustment and take a long time to really find a new family groove with them since they are constantly changing.

If he has suffered with depression previously and your seeing the same signs I would try to mention it to him. Just let him know your worried about him and have noticed how his behavior has changed

Thank you for the article however it is entirely too long to read the whole thing. I was not trying to say your h is not depressed or struggling, I apologize I did not realize this was a thing.

It's all good. It's not something that's talked about too often so it's not as known. I did talk to H and I asked him if he'd take the same survey that the nurse had me do. He said no, but I think that if I ask him when she's here that he'll at least talk to her to keep the peace.
