I use mine to mainly make, well, yogurt. I make salsa chicken probably once a week just to have something easy.
Any good IP recipes you want to share? Healthy is a bonus.

Oh man. I never follow recipes with mine Lol I just throw a bunch of stuff in that seems like it'd be decent together and call it a day. Soups are my go-to. Namely green chile stew.

Last thing I cooked in my instant pot was chicken drumsticks. Add whatever seasoning you want and pressure I think 30 min. I just found a drumsticks recipe to know the times and I added garlic, salt, and a curry seasoning I have. Should have done more curry tho.

I'm too scared to use mine, mainly because I feel I don't understand it fully.

Following here for ideas though. clucky ya honestly I don't hardly use the specified buttons. I just do manual time. As far as I know the named buttons are just different times. Start with mashed potatoes. It will make you realize how much easier your life can be! Try this recipe. You can change the butter and/or seasonings if you wish, but the basics are there and SO EASY!! www.eatingonadime.com/pressure-cooker-mashed-potatoes/

Make this...so delicious. The type of salt is important. I got mine on Amazon, but if you don't live in nowhere-ville like me you might be able to get it at your grocery store. And do the cabbage at the end...it turns out sweet and compliments the pork well. nomnompaleo.com/post/111934821818/pressure-cooker-kalua-pig

I'm too scared to use mine, mainly because I feel I don't understand it fully. Don't be scared! The salsa chicken I mentioned is super easy. It is frozen chicken thighs with half a jar of salsa, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and onions, cook on high for 23 min and then do quick pressure release. Shred the chicken and use it a million different ways.

Do you put it right on the bottom or do you have to use that rack that came with it?

Do you put it right on the bottom or do you have to use that rack that came with it? I've only used the rack so far for hard boiling eggs. I just put all the ingredients on the bottom. I have read that if stuff scorched to the bottom it can't come to pressure, so that's something to consider if using the saute function before a pressure cook. I think that crock pot recipes would translate well to a pressure cook, but be cautious using the slow cook function on the UP because low on the IP is the equivalent to "warm" on the crock pot

I have made ribs in it several times. I put a rub on them and then add a mix of apple cider vinegar, BBQ sauce and onions to the pot and in 22 min (plus natural release) they are cooked and tender and then I brush them with BBQ sauce and either grill them or put them under the broiler.

I was just informed there is a recipe board. Lol. Here are some of my favorite IP recipes so far: French Dip SandwichesThis was my most favorite thing I have made in it so far. However, I changed the time. The recipe calls for 100 minutes of cook time; that is fucking overkill. I did 55 minutes and the beef was falling apart. Tex-Mex Chili MacThis was good, too. I don't know if I would call it Tex-Mex, though. I did not add the corn. Chicken Ramen SoupAgain, I tweaked. The chicken needs more seasoning. I would also increase the amount of garlic and ginger. I ended up using chicken base for the broth because it just didn't have enough flavor for my tastes. Cook the ramen noodles separately, because otherwise they will just absorb all of the broth and your leftovers will suck.

When we have tacos or quesadillas and want a side, I do rice.
I use jasmine rice because we all like the texture better.
I brown the rice in butter with the saute function, throw in some green pepper, sometimes a jalapeno, and cumin. Once the rice is toasted, I add chicken broth and about 1/3 cup salsa. Rice function, low pressure for 12 minutes.
It comes out so yummy. We had it again tonight.

Can anyone tell me what size spring form pan I need for my 8 qt. pot? It's not here yet so I can't measure it. But I want to order it asap.

Can anyone tell me what size spring form pan I need for my 8 qt. pot? It's not here yet so I can't measure it. But I want to order it asap. I can tell you this. You want the fat daddio push pan from Amazon. I know the 6 inch by 3 inch fits the 6quart and the 7 inch by 3 inch fits the 6 quart, but is tight. That makes me feel that foe the 8 quart you should get the 7x3. I know the 8 quart is both taller and wider, but I don't know if it's wide enough to fit an 8" cake pan.

Have you done this with brown rice? If so did you make any adjustments? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I haven't but I think I'd definitely use a parboiled/minute brown rice version and adjust the liquid accordingly. ETA: This is at the bottom of the recipe * If using brown rice in place of the basmati, you will need to allow the pressure cooker to naturally release the steam for 10 minutes instead of doing a quick release. You will also need to adjust the liquid amounts needed, according to your rice package instructions. I have not personally tried brown rice in this recipe (yet) but based on my research, this is what I would do to ensure the rice is done. For more information on pressure cooking brown rice, please see my post on How to Pressure Cook Different Types of Rice Part II ~ Brown Rice.

I made this orange chicken and it was SO good omg. I used juice from the navel oranges on our tree. I should have cut down on the sauce ingredients because I didn't have the full amount of chicken. And I think I added too much corn starch. So it was saucy and thick lol. But the flavor was great and the chicken cooked perfectly. peasandpeonies.com/instant-pot-orange-chicken/

We made orange chicken with Pioneer Woman's recipe before, but it was so darned time consuming and messy. Can't wait to try this
