What's up with your Thursday? Since we're now limited in the alcohol department, anyone want to share their favorite mocktail recipes?

Today we had my weekly checkup and got to see the baby again, which was nice! I'm really spoiled that I get weekly ultrasounds with the MFM - it's fun to see how baby is growing week by week. I always get more tired on doctor visit days (it's the only day of the week I get out of the house), so I'm just chilling with my feet up and drinking lots of water. For mocktails...I love grapefruit, and we've used below recipe for Grapefruit Lemonade Mocktails. So tasty and refreshing - esp since we live in the land of eternal humid summers allrecipes.com.au/recipe/8603/grapefruit-lemonade-mocktail.aspx

I made up my own mocktail that's pretty good. CranGrape juice, Ginger Ale, and a splash of either lemon or lime juice. It hits the spot when I need something different than my 500 gallon water intake.

Oh and randoms! We are leaving for the beach next Thursday so I think I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure at lunch today. Other than that, it's just another day at work. Glad it's almost Friday!

I'm I just want apple juice. It's been an odd craving this pregnancy. My toddler approves of all the extra juice in the house.
No big plans today. Lounging in bed with DD while she watches Mickey right now. This weekend is the big community wide garage sales but I think a few start today so we may visit some. I don't really *need* anything for baby 2 but it's fun to look.

Morning. I did not clean yesterday, so that means I need to do some today.
DD already wants to go out and play. I think I'll pull her pool and water table out today. It's not supposed to be super hot and it's going to storm tomorrow.

I need booze so bad. My toddler is being such an asshole lately. I snapped and yelled at him last night. He just won't listen and I'm not sure of the best way to discipline a two year old. Standing in the corner doesn't work, and putting him on the couch for time out would just be a reward.

britt I've got the urge to organize so badly, I just don't really have the time or energy. My closet and kitchen cabinets are at the top of the list right now. Taitai that recipe looks so good! If anyone has any with lowish sugar I'm all ears... I'm ingesting way to much sugar, well more than I usually do. And for me... at work today. Tomorrow I'm off and I'm going to a farm that has a store and strawberries that are in season. Went to bed an hour early last night and had a pretty good sleep. Woke up feeling very uncomfortable in back and abdomen, TMI warning... not sure if I need to poop or something is wrong. I'm going to see if it's the first option and if not then I'm calling my midwife.

thatgirlrachel Congrats! cougarette DD just turned 2 in April and she is becoming more difficult at home. I have the book 1-2-3 magic but haven't had time to read it. Not sure if any other techniques other than redirection. Sorry I'm no help.

Mocktail - muddle mint with juice from half a lime. Add lots of ice and top with mist twist or 7up (I find sprite to be too sweet). Refreshing fauxjito.
I'm sad that I somehow managed to kill the mint I got a few weeks ago. Actually I'm almost impressed because mint is supposed to be invasive and hard to kill.

August Blooms I was in the middle of trying to redirect him when he looked right at me and threw his spoons on the floor for the third time. I just saw red and yelled for him to pick them up. It's so hard.

August Blooms like was for the farm trip and strawberries. I hope your discomfort passes quickly. In case it doesn't resolve, I agree that calling is a good idea - just for peace of mind even if it ends up being nothing.

cougarette It is so hard, I lost it on DD this week because she wouldn't put shoes on to go to daycare after she refused to eat breakfast. She got mad when I took it away and wanted it back. I gave it back, she pushed it away, cried when I took it away again. I put her in the car with no shoes and no breakfast ( they feed her when she gets to daycare but I like to give her something a little extra). I was running late for for work too. I put her in the car seat (garage was closed and car not on so she was safe) and went back in the house to have a moment since I was so angry. I hate how guilty I feel after I get angry at her, since rationally I know it's normal toddler behavior but every once it awhile it gets to me.

cougarette Toddlers are so hard sometimes. I hope you can give yourself a special treat today to make up for it a little bit at least! Hang in there.

It's so hard. Meh, sometimes you have those moments. I have times I yell, and I just pull myself out of it. Refocus, and try again. DD was an absolute terror at bedtime on Tuesday. Like she started a temper tantrum when we left the car up to and through bed time routine. All H and I could do was power through. Give her hugs and kisses and get her to bed. It was rough and so hard not to lose it myself.

Since it's warmer I've been blending a cup of frozen fruit with a can of ginger ale for a refreshing drink. I usually use Canada Dry 10, so less calories and less sugar from the ginger ale itself.
I've done this with frozen peaches and currently have a frozen fruit mix of strawberries, pineapple, mango and peaches I'm using.

There is nothing worse than running late in the morning and having a little person that won't eat/get dressed/get in the car, etc. There are days that I just want to scream. I know it won't help anything, but toddlers are so frustrating sometimes. You did the right thing stepping away for a minute to collect yourself, good job. Don't beat yourself up.

We did timeouts in her room on a chair for awhile until she understood, than I just threatened the time out , but I haven't had to use that threat in awhile! Just breathe & say-this too shall pass- Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Going through this 2yo behavior right now too. So frustrating.
I have appointments all afternoon so DH will be on kid duty... I'm secretly quite excited just to sit and wait during the glucose test. Alone time at the lab - haha!

I'm a Shirley Temple gal when it comes to mocktails.
So I just checked the weather in Vegas and it's supposed to be like 115. Is it even safe to go outside?!

britt , DH made fun of me for nesting the other day. I was restuffing my pocket diapers with the newborn inserts. It was my first nesting activity. My last pregnancy DH made me virgin pina coladas with coconut cream, frozen pineapple and pineapple juice all whipped up in the blender. Those were good. This time I'm liking virgin moscow mule: lime juice and ginger beer. Also like cranberry juice and soda with lime. I am thinking about getting one of those sodasplash machines. Anyone have one?

Oh hey britt. Come on over girl, you can nest for me! We really need to get started on a few things because we need to get everything in order before football season starts (8/1) since DH is mostly gone after that. I get overwhelmed just thinking about it. I don't drink a lot normally, but I've really craved soda (I haven't had any for like five years) and alcohol this pregnancy. So weird. We're going to a wedding on Saturday and I'm sad I can't have a couple drinks. DH is excited to have a DD though.

Taitai Thanks! I did end up calling my midwives... she said to callback if things got worse so if I start having contractions, more discharge etc. and to drink water and put my feet up.

I think I may have mentioned this but I luuurrrvvee Elderflower water. Mocktail version is elderflower water, tonic water or pellegrino, lime juice. Cocktail version just add Bombay gin and tonic water is a must.
