♪♫choppinbroccoli♫♪, well, I'm glad you're feeling okay physically. I agree quality over quantity. Crossing all things for those 12! bonzo, that's both crazy and amazing! She is doing a wonderful service for so many. You don't have to answer my questions if you don't want to, but just curious if they are splitting the cycle because she is such a high responder? Do you know if she has children? I find this all so interesting.

charliefox, I don’t mind the questions! My clinic was already working on creating a split cycle program, since it can help reduce costs. Because this donor is such a high responder, she was then eligible for the split cycle program. Normally, they only recommend split cycles if you just want one kid, but this one creates so many eggs that we feel comfortable that we can have multiple kids from the one donor. We also just really loved her profile, in addition to her past numbers! Our donor does not have kids of her own. Her profile doesn’t say if she wants her own kids, but I know that she is currently in grad school and is not married, so it may not be on her radar yet.

Any updates? Crossing all crossables! Thank you so much. And jacks , sorry for not responding earlier. I had my ER today. I'm feeling okay physically, but I'm having a bit of a rough go mentally. They aspirated 12 eggs today and seemed happy with that, but I was a bit discouraged. My first ER two years ago yielded 24 eggs initially, so I can't help but compare it to that. However, none of those 24 eggs yielded a pregnancy past 6 weeks, so I'm trying to think positively that perhaps this will be a matter of quality over quantity. I will get a call tomorrow for the preliminary fert number, but won't hear anything until Day 5/6 for the final number being sent off for PGT. Fingers crossed that your 12 are great quality! I hope you get a fantastic fert report tomorrow!

I understand the burnout, and I hope this transfer is it for you. charliefox, I'm sorry you have to deal with all the injections and everything on your own. To be honest, I don't know if I would have wanted MH's help after I got going, but it would certainly suck to not even have that option. I don't do PIO, though, so either so maybe I would want his help for that. That just seems awkward to do, and painful.

So, my update. If you forgot, I was going to do a transfer in June, but it was cancelled because of polyps. The earliest I would be able to have the polyps removed would be the end of August. That means that I can't transfer until November, because I'll have to travel next June for work. So, we're going to do another retrieval. I sort of can't believe we're doing it, I thought that we'd have a kid by now, but here we are. And I'm terrified about doing another retrieval, because they didn't go all that great 2 years ago when we did it last. I mean, I had a reasonable number of eggs retrieved, and it wasn't super painful or anything, the embryos just didn't make it to blast. If we get anything, we are going to do PGS testing. But, I'm getting older, and we only have 1 untested embryo left, so we might as well use our time to try to get another one (or 5 - haha, wishful thinking), just in case. I go in on July 31 for a baseline and my meds class (yes, my clinic makes you take one every time you do IVF). Retrieval is tentatively scheduled for Aug 20. I'll then have the polyps removed in October, and hopefully transfer in November. Of course, nothing has gone to plan in any of this so far, so who know's what will actually happen, but that's what we are going with for now
