Just dropping by to squee excitement that W just slept 8.30pm til 3.15am. Over 6 hours! That’s a first!
I feel like I’m addicted to sleep ha ha. It feels so good!
I anticipate this going to hell at the 4 month mark so I’m trying to enjoy it as much as possible now.

W is doing fine but we’re at H’s parents house at the beach and I just don’t sleep well here. There are 2 dogs plus ours constantly shaking their collars and trying to get in each other’s beds. The bed we sleep in is smaller than ours at home. And it’s gotten cold so W has been in with me since 3.30am. DD1 is being good too, just woke briefly before cause she’d kicked off her blanket. I like visiting the beach even though it’s winter here, but at night I just wanna be at home... I just got back from 3 weeks at my parent’s house at the beach and it was not relaxing. My parents house is small and DS1 is high energy and got restless being out of daycare. I’d pump in the MOTN so that I could leave DS2 with my mom for a couple of hours. Then DS1 and I would go for a walk by the beach before it got too hot but of course, it was hard to get DS1 moving in the morning and it was hot and I’d quickly feel full and need to pump or feed DS2. The rest of the day was basically lunch, fighting DS1 to take a nap, dinner and bedtime. I’m home now and DS1 is back in daycare and it’s sooo relaxing needless to say, I didn’t really get to enjoy the beach.

We are going to the beach on Thursday, the 4 of us will be in one room praying my toddler does well. G has been going down around 8 and sleeping till 3 or 4 I been amazing but omg my boobs. I’ve been having to pump before bed so I don’t wake up engorged and when she does get up she’s only eating in one side so I have to relieve the other side a bit

F slept from midnight until 5 this morning. It was so nice. And then of course H freaked out because it was "too long" between feedings

I am nursing during the day but at night she would be up every two hours wanting to eat. Then it would take another 30 to get her back to sleep so I was up all night every night.

DD is passed out, until I put her down and suddenly she is wide awake again. This was us from week 3 to 6. I could not do it anymore so I took a complete 180 and after recommandations, started following the Moms on Call schedule. We are on day 4 now and she slept 7hours last night. The main thing for us was to not feed her on demand during the day but every 2.5-3h, so that she would be really hungry, eat well and then sleep well. FX this passes fast for you, no sleep is the worst.

And he had drank a LOT before he fell asleep at midnight. Last night was a more normal night with him waking every 3 1/2-4 hours

We survived our first night without the rnp. We are in a hotel tonight and I was so worried about how she would do in the crib. I'm definitely not ditching the rnp but she gave us from 12:30-5:30 and 5:45-8 in the crib. I'll take it!

We bought one for our vacation home that we will probably only go to 1 more time before she outgrows it!

After MOTN feedings, do you put baby back down immediately or do you hold for a few minutes to make sure they are good and asleep?
I still hold E upright for about 15 minutes. At first it was bc of reflux but now that her reflux is pretty much gone I still do it just not sure if I should slowly start to cut the time back. Don’t want to risk waking her though

itsmemeg I usually hold W upright or at least on an angle for up to 10 minutes or until she burps (she struggled with gas in the early days) then once she’s drowsy I’ll put her down. I try to put her down still awake or in a light sleep cause she’s been good at self-settling and I’m scared she’ll stop that if I always put her down asleep. But sometimes she is already asleep anyway, ah well.

I toss her back immediately, haha. But she’s in the auto RNP and has never had any reflux issues, so.

itsmemeg I keep DS upright for around 10-15 minutes or more after each feeding, MOTN included. He spits up constantly so I’m trying to help by keeping him upright. That being said he’s usually asleep by the time I lay him down. I need to get better about laying him down drowsy the times he is still awake.

itsmemeg I keep L upright for a few minutes to try and get a burp, but that's it.

My problem is when I nurse her in the middle of the night I always fall asleep with her on the recliner. I have no clue how to change that.
