Don't beat yourself up, adeline. There's no way you could've known.

The cost of two in daycare is starting to hit my wallet pretty harshly. I've spent the morning trying to reduce some of our monthly bills so I'm not super stressed about it.

I'm actually thinking about offering to watch my best friends son when F gets a little older. It's really hard for her to pay for daycare and he keeps getting sick. Even when I go back to work I'm only going to be working 2 days a week and H will be home with F those days anyways.

Yes, I'm lol-ing that the $15 a month I saved on security monitoring is going to help my $2200/mo daycare bill.

We only have two weeks of both in daycare in August and that price already had me 🙀🙀 Not looking forward to the September bill.

I can't even think about the daycare costs for both kids. It makes me cry when I do.

I live in MN so it’s not even like we’re in a super high cost of living area like CA or something either. We do a center in a wealthy suburb and that’s just the going rate 😔

Holy hell at 3600. I’m trying to figure out how to keep our budget the same with DD1 in state funded pre-K (have to pay for before and after care) and DD2 in daycare and it’s “only” going to be $1300/mo.

Omg ! And there I felt sorry for our ~$2700/mo cost ! Are you in the bay area? ETA: I see you already said you were in MN. Crazy !

Good grief. I just did the calculation. We’ll be paying $1,800 a month as of February. Yuck yuck yuck.

We are essentially paying what we would for college tuition. It’s a little insane, and a huge reason why we can’t afford more than 2 kids!

I didn't open DS's blinds today to try to keep it cooler in there. He is taking a nice long nap. Are we past the point of needing to worry about days and nights getting mixed up?

I just started opening blinds during the day in an effort to get DS used to it for daycare lights. I also just read about it helping regulate daytime sleep so maybe it’ll get me an extra hour at night? I have noticed a small difference in nap length but I don’t know if that’s the issue or he’s just growing? 🤷🏼♀️

Omg daycare costs are insane ... it’s really terrible. I work in a preschool and my 2 yr old & Gem will go for free it’s considered part of my “salary” and it’s completely fine with me! I wouldn’t be able to afford daycare otherwise

DS2 naps longer in a dim room than a bright one, but knock on wood his longer stretches of sleep are still at night so I go with it. I figure there’s still enough difference between night and day even if the blinds are mostly shut for nap. Also it’s been over 100 degrees every day. We’re all hiding from the sun when we can.

J did well on his first road trip! My college bff’s daughter’s birthday party is tomorrow so we drove down for the weekend. So an almost 7y, 3y, 9mo, and 6w and a dog and kitten in the same house. Bedtime was interesting 🙃

Today DD1 had her swimming lesson followed by two birthday parties (a 4 year old then a 3 year old). I’m wrecked, let alone her. Well, she went to bed at 5.30pm. W went down at 5.45. It’s so peaceful here this evening!

My boss invited us over to swim today, so we did that. DS was shy at first, but then had a blast. My boss’s sister held DD so I could play with DS. That doesn’t happen a lot when I’m solo, so it was really nice.
Now I just need them both asleep so I can take a bath and relax.

Make sure you're both on the same page with everything like food, pay, if someone is sick, etc
