I just got woken up by someone at the door. I didn't sleep well last night because of the heat here. It's not even feeding time t.t

Happy 4th everyone. I’m stuck under a nursing baby while “watching” Wimbledon. My in laws will be here for lunch in about an hour. At least they’re bringing lunch and DH and I didn’t need to do anything but clean the kitchen. DD1 is disappointed we aren’t going to see fireworks, but I’m not about to take the baby out and have them both up late tonight. Anyone have any fun plans for today?

DH and my MIL (she came back to visit last night and finally got to meet F!) took DD1 to a 4th of July farmer’s market but I stayed home with the baby. The feels like temp is 100 and I didn’t think it was a good idea to take her out in the sun. I don’t think we’re going to see fireworks either. They don’t start until 9:30 and bedtime is 8 so yeaaah, no. I think we will go get the stuff to make red white and blue cupcakes though.

We went to a parade at noon. It was SO HOT. H and I took turns with L in the shade and V along the route. Even V asked to leave after a short while because it was so hot. Naptime now for everyone.
We went to fireworks on Friday night and V's bedtime/wake time/nap schedule has been off ever since, so we'll probably skip tonight.

We only have fans at my place and it's doing practically nothing for the heat. F had a check up today and because of the heat his weight gain was a little short of what she would have liked, so until it cools down F and I are going to go chill at my parents RV for a few days.

I'm back at work part-time. I had too much to drink yesterday and my head is pounding. I'm glad I have tomorrow off.

DS2's billiruben was a little elevated so they were going to make us stay a 2nd night last night. Fortunately they checked it again at 8pm and said was under the threshold to leave so we got the heck out. We have an appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow anyway.
Last night was rough but MH was a big help and DS2 did let me sleep a couple hours this morning so that's helped a little

Tummy time.... every time I put her on her tummy she spits up everywhere and just screams 😫. Anyone else have this struggle? I know it’s probably because of reflux

Tummy time.... every time I put her on her tummy she spits up everywhere and just screams 😫. Anyone else have this struggle? I know it’s probably because of reflux I do tummy time on me while I am slightly elevated. It helps her pass burps and gas and actually helps with her reflux. She does spit up a bit time to time but not much. Maybe you do it too soon after feeding?

I know it’s probably because of reflux The spit up has gotten better for us but I still try to do tummy time before I feed her to avoid that scenario. But she still hates tummy time and usually cries so we don’t get a lot of time

L hates tummy time too so I've been relying on belly to belly stuff for now. Sometimes she'll tolerate a few minutes on the floor. I figure we'll build up to it.

I am watching Jane the Virgin and they are sleep training. They got to that amazing moment when they realize the baby has stopped crying and is actually sleeping. Can't wait!

Today DD was up ALL day. She would doze for a cat nap or two. But. no significant sleep longer than an hour. All she did was eat and want to interact/observe/look around. I mean it was nice, she wasn't too fussy unless she was hungry or needed to be changed--but there is only so much holding and carrying DH and I can do. We broke out the play mat, and even at 2.5 weeks, she seemed really interested in it. She lasted about 10 minutes on it before getting restless.

Sounds like poor naps all around yesterday! W was so overtired from not napping I didn’t get her down until almost 10 pm. Hoping I can figure out why today.

She is SO alert for being two and a half weeks old. She was up most of the day wanting to play. And eat.

Since H had 2 nights by himself to sleep as much as he needed, I'm going to pump and he'll take the 2 am feeding. I'll still have to get up to pump, but I can doze while I do that and it only takes 10 minutes.

I need to start pumping regularly in the mornings to build my stash and give H more of a chance to work more on the bottle with L, since he refuses it for him every time I go to the gym. I hate pumping with a passion, but I like my freedom more. Plus I have to go back to work eventually, so I might as well lay the foundation now.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned this bc it’s all consuming right now but ever since we had E’s lip and tongue tie revised she refuses bottles. I am a nervous wreck over this bc 1. My nipples hurt and 2. I go back to work August 20 and I’m legitimately scared she won’t take a bottle by then
