That’s great that you can get an evaluation so soon and not have the stress hanging over you ellabee ! I’m sure it will be stressful waiting for results but hopefully will give you some peace of mind or a plan of action. I was looking at our pediatricians 18 month questionnaire (M’s appt isn’t until August bc of vaccine spacing) and they ask if the kid has 6-10 words. Is this around what your pediatrician was looking for or have people heard different guidelines? I’ve been trying to be more aware of where M is right now leading up to her next appt. Yeah, my pedi said at 18 months she looks for around 10-20 words. B has 8 words I'd say are truly in his vocabulary, that's why we were sorta borderline.

ellabee I’m glad you feel better about getting him checked out! Also, you should have seen my face when I read 28lbs. I just put Dd on the scale because my nephew had his one year appointment yesterday. He’s 22lbs and Dd is 19.2lbs 😂 I cant imagine hauling ten extra pounds around at this point. Still my bottomless pit of a peanut though. I guess all my metabolism went to her. I received ds’ official preschool paperwork and class assignment yesterday. 😭 I still can’t believe it.

I could do without the extra weight too Lakes 😂. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder the other day picking him up. The lug. I wouldn’t mind a metabolism like your DDs!

ellabee glad you are getting him evaluated so soon. I’m sure it will set your mind at ease as opposed to waiting several more months.

E actually helped me clean some tonight! I started cleaning before dinner and I say I am cleaning up toys and putting away books and such. So I just need to that instead of cleaning up after bed.
E has a friend at school now she always has a hugging and giving him kisses. The teacher said they are always together. He gets so excited when I drop her off in the morning. Not even 2 and so it begins.

ellabee, How wonderful! That must be a huge weight lifted off your shoulders. Our pedi only looks for 7-10 words at 18 months. 10-20 seems like so much! W is definitely nowhere near that. Had my first appointment today and an ultrasound has been scheduled for Monday to get a due date but my midwife said my ute feels 8-9 weeks along. I think I'll be more into this at the ultrasound. I'm hoping so, anyway.

Popping in to say hi. We had our A/S today and found out we are having another boy! I'm pretty happy about it but dd is struggling as she "already has a little brother", haha.

Super exciting Prime Day over here. I got Blue Lizard sunscreen for the kids and floss sticks 😂 I did get some books for the kids with the “primebooks18” code, $5 off $20. Fil got a Chicco MyFit for ds for $30 off. It will be nice to not have to transfer his car seat back and forth.

peaseblossom55, A sings her own little version of the clean-up song when she "helps" put toys away. Hi! Been at the beach for the past week and we're here til next Sunday. I'm working remotely today, and then just morning half-days tomorrow and Thursday. Spent a small chunk of this past Sunday at urgent care getting A's dislocated elbow reset. This is the second time she's gotten nursemaid's elbow... but it was the first time it was MY fault.

Thanks for asking I measured 8 weeks exactly but it was only a couple days behind my unofficial due date so it may not change anything. The US tech said my midwife would probably pick the date at my next appointment. So we're looking at a date between Feb 21-25.

When is the best time to introduce a pillow into the crib. E sleeps sans pillow or blanket sleeping has been fine she moves around a lot but always manages to end up in the same spot every morning. Debating now to keep her from moving or to wait until the toddler bed transition.

So looking back through my photos dd was around 20 months when I gave her a blanket, just a light swaddle, and I gave her a pillow after 2. It probably could have been done sooner but I was always a little late in everything when it comes to sleep, like dropping the swaddle. I will say I'd get E used to those things before switching beds. That way it's not all new and there is some familiarity.

Dd is on a floor bed now and ds switched around...18-20 months I think. I waited a long time with ds. I think he was like 2-2.5 before he started using them. Part of that was due to not needing a blanket because of how the seasons fell and the other part was he hated them and would cry and throw them out of bed when I tried to give them to him. Dd has a pillow now but no blanket. She still moves a lot and I won’t give her one until it’s cooler in the fall.

Good point on adding these before the toddler bed switch still her crib but a big change.

I may go with the pillow and wait til fall and winter for a light blanket.

It worked so well with ds at that age that I wanted to repeat it. Dd has taken to it better than ds! Nights were fine for both but it took ds a couple weeks to get back into his nap groove after the switch. But he was also dropping down to one nap so I’m sure that didn’t help any.

We didn't transition DS1 to a bed until he was almost 3 because he wasn't out growing it and he never tried climbing out. His transition was so smooth, it was like he didn't notice the difference. However lol W is not going to have the same luxury now that we're on a timeline. We are looking into bunk beds for the boys, something lowish to the ground so that W can climb off without falling. But before then, we are going to just take the crib mattress out and put it on the floor like we did with DS1.

Does the pillow matter at this age? Anything off of Amazon with good reviews is usually my go to.
