{deleted names} --------------------------------------------
i'm pregnant with #3, team green. we have plenty of girl options, but we are stumped on boy names. we'd prefer something with latin/greek origins to go with the 2 names we already have. don't want names that start with S, M, or G/J, or that end in -us or -an. we would prefer something with at least 2 syllables since the last name is 1 syllable.
my top picks would have been leander or evander except that the kids have a 1st cousin with a similar name. no to felix, theodore, nicholas, and francis, for various reasons.
help!

Your other kids have absolutely awesome names. I do not see how Leander and Evander would be too similar to Alexander for them to be cousins. Also, those are amazing names, so I think you're overthinking yourself out of a great name. Also, saying no -us really eliminates a LOT of good stuff... Other names: Ambrose Bartholomew Apollo Atlas Lysander (again, I reject the idea that this is too similar) Phormio Hector Agrippa Theron Peter Diomedes Pericles

thanks ladynemesis! the cousin goes by Zander so to me it seems very similar. although if we used the nicknames Van or Leo that would help us diverge a bit. but i will have to discuss further with DH (this sister and BIL are rather sensitive). i'm concerned another name ending in "-us" seems too matchy-matchy (esp when saying all 3 names in a row). what other "-us" names would you suggest, though?

I have a friend with three boys. Her older two have your two names, her third is Felix. I can’t remember your do’s and don’ts, but I offer you Felix. I also love Leander and Evander and don’t think the Zander cousin would be a problem there.
