WHAT HAS MANAFORT DONE NOW? Thank you Bob Mueller! I needed a little indictment in my life today.

I guess the big question to start with is going to be what the leak was, which would tell us whether it was even appropriate to investigate, and why the DOJ would circumvent policies instituted by Holder to engage in inappropriate or illegal surveillance of a reporter.
I'll not hold my breath waiting for Devin to demand an IG report on WITCH HUNT ILLEGAL WIRETAP UNMASKING AND ALSO I NEED AN UBER

And what scares me is that, what is next? I really make an effort to reign my shit in with this administration and not get caught up in conspiracy theories and in general taking everything to an 11. But you have an administration who has gotten people to blindly believe that they are only targeting those who try to enter illegally, and that everyone who comes in is MS-13. It's just simply not true. It's right in front of our faces. So I am scared to see where they take this next, because honestly, in reality, it shouldn't get much worse than taking kids from their parents and putting them in literal cages in detention centers. But I fear that's not the case here. I think that's why I'm in a rough place today. I am *constantly* seeing right wing Trumpians on social media arguing complete fallacies about anyone Trump dislikes (hop down the rabbit hole of things people search about Hillary Clinton on Snopes some time. It's utterly batshit). They hate Obama and Clinton souch that they will accept and cling to any negative information about them without pausing to look at context or verify it's veracity. So when a staffer leaks to the press and a NYT reporter is searched, or when we have an IG report coming out that will shine an unfavorable light on some of Trump's favorite perceived villains, they'll cling to that and scream for years. I'm just basically dreading the next month and I *was* looking forward to a break during my trip to Canada but apparently we ruined Canada, too I hear you, and as far as I am concerned the Trumpians are mostly hopeless. They are in this for the long haul.
I just need Republicans in Congress to grow a damn spine and draw the line....somewhere. This should be the line. At kids being put in cages, separated from their parents. My god the line should be before this point. But they have sat back and let him spew his rhetoric and dismissed it as him being a blowhard. No. We can't say that anymore. He means what he says and will find people to help him carry it out.
I also really hope a lot of young people vote in November.

Yeah he also blamed Chuck Schumer. Dude, you are the fucking president, whether we like it or not, YOU can put a stop to all of it with one swipe of your pen, you asshole. ^that may or may not have been what I yelled at the screen this morning. at work We know he knows his way around an executive order...... Except he usually forgets to sign them at first.

dc2london re: wolfe/watkins, I would assume whatever is going *was* very serious, b/c as you said there was a unanimous bipartisan decision made about it and it does involve a journalist. I don't really know what to make of all of it, but your guess seems as reasonable as any. so, for what it's worth, apparently Ron Wyden was totally caught off guard by this story as a guest on cable news while it broke. So it would seem (unless Senator Wyden is an excellent actor) that this wasn't an issue about which the committee was aware.

Seriously, why is this administration breaking all the rules to save Carter Page. Seriously.

I mean Wolfe didn't have to be the lealer. Nobody did. Carter probably just told someone. Out loud with his very talky mouth.

Add Bolton's face to the list that I get an irrational urge to smack, just by seeing it. McConnell and Ryan still top the list, though.

He looks like a kid in time out, still insisting he’s in the right.
Except this “kid” still is running the country and has access to a nuclear arsenal.

I see the G7 summit went as well as we could expect...so horrifying? Embarrassing? I don’t even know what to call it anymore.
So great expectations for NK?

That picture is worth more than 1,000 words for sure. Just wow. According to some Fox News person Merkel needs to take notes because “that’s what real leaders look like”. Or something. Which would be laughable except....well, you know.

The US (Cheeto) is the laughingstock of the world. I still can’t believe his tweets following the G7. And McCain is the only GOP rep to speak out. This is not a good look for us. It’s going to take a massive turnout to vote as many of those craven idiots out of Congress.

Kudlow is saying Trudeau comments are a betrayal. And 45 strengthened the G7 alliance
That they should have told him Godspeed with the Singapore meeting
Someone bumped their head and is operating with some pretty big delusions

Trump seems to be attempting to turn Canada into the Dems by making us to blame for everything, no matter how conflicting. Canada is weak! And also pushing us around!
My work has to travel extensively to the US, and Trump has made it really difficult. Our travel is to research investments based in the US, so it is pretty silly. We travel all over the world for this, and suddenly we are being denied entry to the US? From Canada?! We spent a crap load of time and money getting special visas for everyone who travels because the US is so paranoid about Canada stealing its jobs.
Whatever. I feel like the rest of the world is just waiting Trump out. Lord help you if you elect him again, though.
