Thoughts on a first name that ends in ON and last name that ends in ON? Is that a big no?

As a side note, First child does have a first name and last name that start with same letter and same amount of letters. 🤷♀️

Thoughts on a first name that ends in ON and last name that ends in ON? Is that a big no? I wouldn't do it. Would sound too rhymey and with bad flow. I'm thinking something like Jackson Anderson.

Depends what it is I guess. Jackson Anderson sounds fine to me.

To me, it’s the number of syllables that makes all the difference. Also, it’s hard to say without knowing the actual sound of the names.
For example I think Devon Anderson sounds okay, but Devon Carson not as much.

I agree with charlotte, the number of syllables and sound of both names would make a big difference.

I hate to put the last name out there but, first name Lennon and last name ending in letters STON. They are the same amount of syllables but thinking of middle name with a different amount of syllables.
Honestly, it's the same name we thought about with our first child if a boy but she was a girl. I never even thought about the letters ending the same until this time around. So to me, I never noticed it. We are hoping to find out sex next week.

Depends on length of fn and ln, as well as the quality of the fn under consideration. If you were asking about Braxton, Easton, or Weston Conlon, I'd say definitely no (and no regardless of the ln!). If you were asking about Myron, Eamonn or Algernon Conlon, I'd say go for it. A great name makes up for a multitude of matchy-matchy sins.

See if that helps you determine if it sounds ok.

I think this is pretty dependent on what your last name is and i understand not sharing htat! I really like the name Louis but our name ends in IS and rhymes with Louis and it's a hard no. I could see your first name option sounding good with some names though... like L. Livingston.... sounds fine to me. It really just depends. However, in the scheme of things, you really don't get called by your first name and last name too often together in life. I'd say go for it if you love it.

All of my names end in ON. I have no issues whatsoever. You are overthinking it, trust me. The only problem was I could never spell out my whole name with blocks or magnets because I ran out of Ns. It's really not a problem.

I think if it’s a name that has stuck with you since last pregnancy then go for it. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker.

I don’t care for it and the first name is not my favorite at all. I’m trying different last name possibilities and they all sound bad. I think you can do much better.

I don't love the first name you've chosen, but with a last name ending in STON I don't think it's a deal breaker. Not too matchy.
