Yay - my Jolse order arrived successfully with no duties or import fees!!! The shipping took about 3 weeks, but for only $2.50 and no import duties, I’ll take it. I’m so excited to have a way to get stuff from Korea now - Cosrx, Innisfree, and the like are so expensive here.
Jolse gave me a free COQ10 sheet mask, and I’ve never heard of COQ10 before. The instructions were all in Korean, but from what I can tell, it’s an antioxidant that gets rid of free radical oxygen molecules, which are bad. It supposedly can reduce sun damage and enhance collagen growth, but I really don’t know. Haven’t looked into the research yet. That said, the mask was nice, and I received a bunch of other samples that I gave to my nanny’s teenage daughter. She was very excited about that.
I picked up my favorite IOPE cushion blusher, as well as the Cosrx snail peptide eye cream. I am happy with the Innisfree green tea eye serum now, so will probably start the peptide stuff once my Innisfree is gone and compare results.

It is so terribly dry inside/ outside right now and my skin is taking a beating. I'm moisturizing like crazy, but I need more. Is there a moisturizing spray I can spritz on my face throughout the day?

Is there a moisturizing spray I can spritz on my face throughout the day? This is the mist I keep by my desk and use through the day. It’s nothing fancy, but lasts a super long time and does the trick. Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner: www.amazon.com/Pyunkang-Yul-Mist-Toner-200/dp/B06ZY4VPP8

So I got a sample of Reversa smoothing cream with 10% retinol. I knew it was risky but thought I’d give it a try last night. Woke up this morning and my skin looks amazing. Brighter and smoother already!
My question - I likely shouldn’t use that every night correct? How regularly should I use this cream if I were to work it into my regular routine?

I love it when you wake up after using a new product and notice a marked improvement in your skin - yay! If I were you, I’d start 3 days a week and see how that goes. If you don’t get any flaking, redness, drying, etc, after a week, then I say you could bump up to 5 times a week, or even daily. Just be sure to monitor, and if you start to notice anything, dial back 👍

I’m so happy that my Jolse order worked - just ordered more Cosrx snail 96, Cosrx AHA, and T’iam C Source. It’s awesome to be able to get that stuff here without paying double the normal price - plus I love the samples they throw in 😊😁

Is there a moisturizing spray I can spritz on my face throughout the day? It sounds like your skin is dehydrated and not dry. Lots of thin layers of hydration will help. 7 skin method at night followed by a sleep mask should help build your resilience. Any hydrating toner that you like will do. For freshen ups during the day I like us.innisfree.com/collections/face-mists/products/moisturizing-oil-mistThere are lots of good sleeping masks, but I sometimes have problem with them causing breakouts. This one works well and never makes me breakout matter how much I layer on: us.innisfree.com/collections/sleeping-masks/products/hydrating-sleeping-mask-with-green-teaI would also sleep with a humidifier at night if you can. I also use an essential oil diffuser on my desk to help keep my skin hydrated. You don’t need to put any oil in it, but the smaller size is really good for continual, light moist air.

I get full size product on the regular from them. They are my source for anything I can’t get here reasonably priced or because of ingredients (like sunscreens).

Thanks, beesquared! You're absolutely right, and I should have though about it, but my skin is definitely dehydrated. I placed an order for the toner taitai recommended and just put in an Innisfree order for your recommendations also. I will try alllll the things. I have a humidifier, but I think it's just not able to keep up with the dryness of the house (and we have some light construction happening so we're combatting dust, too). I need to up my water consumption as well.

They have a whole new black tea line that looks really good. I’m currently working through a large back stock of items I bought in the fall to take advantage of free gifts and bundle deals, but it’s on my list to try as soon as I can justify buying something.

I’m in the middle of a very satisfying off-brand Baby Foot peel. That is all.

I’m in the middle of a very satisfying off-brand Baby Foot peel. That is all. I have a major foot phobia, so the peels creep me out big time. But, I admit I'm very curious and tempted to try them on my own sadly abused feet that show the effects of decades in chlorinated pools, beach-going, and various dance. Which one are you using?

It’s listed as the “Ecco Bella Beauty” brand on Amazon. It’s the second time I’ve used this brand and it’s been good both times. I’ve done the real Baby Foot brand which had good results too. I’ve only had lackluster peeling with a random brand that I received in one of my Facetory boxes.
I needed a winter pick me up so this was perfect. I’ll just be dreaming of summer and my pretty feet while the snow melts.

It’s a little gross but I love it. It’s oddly satisfying.

Does anyone here use a skincare brush to put lotions/serums etc on? I saw an IG ad for one and it intrigued me but it’s like $60 and I don’t want to spend that on one brush lol. Wondering if there were good recs for a cheaper version. I hate using my fingers all the time.

Wondering if there were good recs for a cheaper version. I hate using my fingers all the time. The thing with using any instrument or tool to put on skincare is that you have to constantly clean it to make sure there is no bacteria build up, which would cause your skin to break out. I personally don’t like brushes or anything like that for applying skincare - I use my fingers or my hands to pat it in. What I do use is a plastic spatula for scooping out creams from jars/things that don’t have pumps or can’t be poured out of the container. I clean the plastic spatula each time I use it - again, so it doesn’t contaminate the product with bacteria. Some people use cushion puffs to put on sunscreen, and you could probably use that for skincare products as well - as some of the cushion puffs are made with anti microbial material and they are designed to absorb less product. The thing is that you still should wash the puff every time you use it (or at least frequently), and then replace it every month or so. It still absorbs some product, there’s the hassle of cleaning, and it’s just a lot more costly to use than your fingers, which are free. The IOPE cushion is really popular, because of how it’s made to resist bacteria, but again - expensive to always be replacing. www.amazon.com/IOPE-Air-cushion-PUFF-3ea/dp/B00PF66B2U

I’ve been using Pureheals Propolis 80 Sleeping Mask for about a week. It’s fine. I bought it with my expiring Facetory rewards so it was “free”. But it’s replacing my Jeju:en Propolis Cream which is my holy grail and a tough act to follow. The good news is it seems to be maintaining my current skin status. I do have trivial complaints: I dislike the jar. It’s high and narrow. It’s going to be a pain to get stuff out of the bottom, even with the spatula.
It’s thinner and a little messy. It feels like it gets absorbed quickly. The consistency reminds me of Cosrx Snail 96. I feel like it should be in a pump. I usually get a drip on my dresser. The Jeju:en stuff is a true cream and feels more long lasting.
The smell is a little sharper than the Jeju:en cream. Pureheals does have licorice listed in the ingredients so it might be that.
I’ll use it up and then try to find the Jeju:en cream again.

@karenwalker Well, now I have to order some of the Cosrx snail masks! I used up my favorite Naruko snail sheet masks a few months ago, so I’m on the hunt for a replacement.
@icedtea Yay for getting your friend interested! I hope she sees a difference and enjoys the self-care element as well.

I snuck this in with my order of the sleep mask and oil mist you recommended and I loooove it! It absorbs really well and smells great. I've been cycling through with this, the oil mist, and the pyunkang yul toner every couple of days to see which my skin likes more, and the black tea wins. The sleep mask is amazing, too. Thank you for recommending these! For the first time in the past 3 months, my skin is happy.

Not a ton of new skincare stuff to report, but I wanted to say that I’m pretty pleased with the Innisfree green tea seed eye serum thing with the roller ball dispenser. I am super prone to milia, and the Innisfree eye serum definitely has not caused that problem in the past 3 months since I’ve been using it. I don’t see a huge improvement in my under-eye area, but I do think there are less fine lines on my eyelids and the corners of my eyes. Not a big difference, but it’s something.
Boots was having a sheet mask and sunscreen sale today, so I scored a big 85ml tube of Biore UV Aqua rich for only $11.35, which is a great price out here. I also picked up more of the Boots aloe vera sheet masks that I liked, plus I will try out the pomegranate and green tea versions. Will report back!

Can someone please recommend me a nice (facial) sunscreen that I could buy online at Target or Ulta or Amazon if possible. I threw out my Biore watery one when I moved since I didn’t know if it was still effective anyway. I was going to order another one but there are a few reviews about receiving expired products so I thought I’d come here and check first.

Price is similar to Biore, and you can find it on Amazon. Biore is still my go-to, but I understand not wanting to get an expired one. www.amazon.com/APIEU-BLOCK-Natural-Cream-SPF45/dp/B00J2Q5MSS/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=apieu+pure+block&qid=1619079786&sprefix=apieu+pure&sr=8-2I was also going to recommend Anessa as a good one that is available on Amazon, but man, it’s expensive in the USA. Definitely cheaper out here. That said, it’s a good one.
