I'm am going to do before and after of my hall closets to keep myself accountable. Just measured them so I can get bins at the dollar tree. We've lived here six years and I should have done this long ago. The one with the cleaning bottle is above the stairs so it goes way in to the right. There are things in the back of that closet that I put in 6 years ago and haven't seen the light of day since. 😬

I found these containers the other day at dollar tree and I like them They say they are for veggies and fruits and it’s nice that there is a strainer basket to rinse them

I forgot my measurements at home 🤦🙄😤 so back I go tomorrow to exchange for a different size of basket. I did get the cupboards cleaned out and wiped down.
So tomorrow I'll listen to a church service on my phone while I sort and purge lol. I just can never figure out what belongs in what closet.

I would organize it the way that makes your life the easiest. I have all my backup deodorants and feminine stuff in my personal closet. It just is. I will store shampoos and conditioners in a linen closet near the bathroom. I usually keep communal toiletries in there and my personal use stuff in my closet. I even have my own set of towels that only I use and I store them in my closet(Uo? I am weird about towels being shared a towel is as personal as a toothbrush ) Basically, there is no wrong or right way in your own house unless it pisses off your mate.

I had a lightbulb moment and on the way back from the store with big bins I shoved a bunch of my car stuff into a bin to help me get it into the house... then thought, why don’t I keep one of these bins in the car? I have a big bin in there now and it is a catch all for my daily things that usually collect on my front seat I have to throw into the back if any adult needs a ride in my car. Its rectangular and deep with handles and fits quite nicely on the floor boards of the back seat if someone is up front. Currently my new favorite thing.

I have some totes from Aldi that I use for so much stuff and want more. Excuse the photo and yes it broke in my freezer, but this is what I want more of.

It was from a dollar store in the garden section but this was a item that was marked salvage and was at a resale place so I don’t know if they have them at dollar tree but I would definitely try the other dollar chain stores for them That one you have is great! I would love to get a bunch of those for groceries. I have canvas totes for shopping. I want to get a better system going with that though. I feel like there is something I’m missing and those seem like they would solve a lot of my problems.

After there are some empty spots that will pry fill up as I clean out the rest of the closets in the house and there's some piles that still need to get sorted, so I'm not finished, but at least I know what's in these cupboards. Also I needed bigger baskets but I was on a dollar tree budget and there was only too big and not quite big enough. I think it looks great. My thinking is if I get the money for fancier than Dollar Tree baskets and containers I will already have a system in place and already know what size I need etc.

[/quote] I meant to reply to this. Thanks! And yes that was exactly my theory. Also since we may move or majorly renovate on the next couple years I don't want to spend $ on baskets I may not be able to reuse.

Ok so I don’t have before pics and even if I did I’d be embarrassed to post them. My dollar tree does not have white bins in the style I like. The options are blue, green or red so I went with blue. My pantry is not complete the top shelf and the bottom 2 shelves are still a cluster. Must go back for more bins, but I’m very happy w/ the progress.

Idk about how comfortable the handles are and I don't have Container Store close to me. 😕 Also spotted something similar at a bok sale yesterday. The lady said she got them at Marshall's so I might be looking there too. www.containerstore.com/s/clearance/reisenthel-clear-nestbasket/1d?productId=10035320

My latest organization project. Will be adding a second pic in here of the other side of the cabinet. All dollar tree bins. Need to get more, I like keeping a stack on hand to use when I’m in the mood to organize a cupboard. Next up will be my under the sink zone. It’s a disaster, but doesn’t need to be.

Target had storage bins on sale 20% off this past weekend, so I bought a bunch. First set of pics is the upstairs bathroom cabinet. 1st is from the previous owner, and 2nd is after we painted the inside and put new shelves in. Next is the upstairs "loft area". We moved in last September, and after finally painting the bathroom cabinet I was finally able to put away all the extra sheet and towels for the kids. All the other stuff was put into the storage room above our garage. These are from our main floor bath. The under the sink cabinet has a sink that comes down pretty far, and had a weird half shelf that only had 2 height settings, and nothing could fit under it. I took out the shelf and bought a basket to hold all the cleaning stuff. It just barely fits with the door closed. Upstairs bathroom sink cabinet. I don't have a before pic. And under the kitchen sink. Last year when we moved in we put some nice vinyl sticky tiles in to cover the stained cabinet bottom. Then I bought some baskets to organize things, and even bought a glass jar for our dishwasher pods. The last bag got water in it, and they started getting sticky. Today I bought some command hooks and laundry hooks so I could hang my cleaning and dish gloves on the inside of the cabinet doors.

Need more bins again. Love the bins because if I want to wipe up underneath I just lift the bin out.
