Ugh, you guys, I need to start packing for our long weekend away. SIL is getting married on Saturday, but we're leaving tomorrow so I can help her with last minute prep (bridesmaid duties). I have a huuuge pile of clean laundry that needs sorting/folding/maybe putting away, and then packing for DS and myself (H can do his own, lol). It's going to be like 90* degrees the entire time, and 100* on the day of the wedding, so packing shouldn't be too hard since my summer wardrobe isn't very large. I finally tried on my dress again, for the first time since January/finding out I'm pregnant, and it zips (praise). SO, I really need to get off the computer and get this stuff done before work in a couple hours.

blackmamba That sucks about your thyroid. Hopefully it starts cooperating. duskymonkey I had heard about random people touching pregnant beliefs but my experience has been with certain people I know just touching it. For her it was a cultural thing, they just do it, my husbands family is similar background and they did it to me and I wasn't even that big. Since I was so bored I decided to try and nap but I think I slept for all of 8 minutes. So unsatisfying. Now I'm more tired and more bored.

Sometimes I'll think I have a nap window before a call, but I'll go lie in bed and read Twitter and not fall asleep until the very end of the window. Then I'm a total grouch on the call. |

After all of my complaining, I finally broke out my maternity business pants for work today. Twas a wonderful decision. But this outfit (maternity pants and shirt) puts my bump on full display so I've gotten a lot of funny looks by coworkers today. No one wants to ask the HR lady if she's pregnant 🤷🏼♀️

HAI! Our nanny's son had surgery today so it was my turn to take DD (H has done it for the last 150 times through illness and other nanny days off). We had a fun morning at the zoo! We got home RIGHT at nap time and I must have just missed her window. It took her an hour to get to sleep. She's still sleeping. It's 4PM. What have I done?

I finally found a non alcoholic beer at the store and I'm currently enjoying it. It's definitely not the real deal but it'll get me by until October.

Hola! We were visiting with my dad today and DD was mostly good. A couple of toddler tantrums, but generally in good spirits. We went on a walk to wear her out for nap, but for some reason she never naps when we're there. Drives me batty.

Reading all the randoms, I have a few thoughts ..
I didn't mind last time but this time I don't like when people touch my belly, especially strangers but also lately everyone else too, one my best friends was trying to feel the baby kick cuz I mentioned it was kicking and I hated it...
I want Golden Grahams right now please...lately I've been buying Coco Pebbles but I might be switching now
I think I'm going to start the new series on Amazon, I love Dick, only because I looooooooove Kevin Bacon ❤️

My kid finally pooped. 10 minutes before I picked him up from daycare. I'm terrible, but I'm glad they had to deal with that shit show (literally) and not me.

riverraine I loooooove Portlandia so so so much. So jealous you live in Portland! I met my husband during a high school trip to Portland, so that city has a special place in my heart.

Other random thoughts:
-Bump touching - I normally am a very "get out of my personal space" kind of person, but then I moved to a highly densely populated city in Asia, and well....all that kind of went out the window. People here (locals, both strangers and friends) touch my bump all the time. It's just normal, and I kind of got over it the last pregnancy. It doesn't bother me much anymore.
-Cereal - I love captain crunch, but YES to the mouth bleeding bits. I also find CC leaves a weird film on the roof of my mouth. We don't eat cereal much, because the selection is limited and it is so expensive ($10 for a small box of cheerios), but when DH goes to the states this summer, I'm having him bring home several boxes in his luggage. Can't wait to get my coco puffs and cinnamon life!!!

Back to bump touching, Canadians generally definitely have a thing about personal space, this is a quote from a government of Canada international travel website meant for visitors
"When lining up in a public place, the bank for instance, Canadians require at least 14 inches of space and some people need more. This rule should be applied when speaking to Canadians, especially if the speaker is a man addressing a woman. Men and women need and protect their space, sometimes with an active signal or else with more subtle body language that has to be monitored at all times. The rules vary from province to province, eg: in Quebec people may not need as much personal space, and touching is more common."
I like how specific the 14 inches is but it's so true 😂
