Who has seen it? Any thoughts?
I know I walked out of the theater feeling pride! I want to be a Dora Milaje, anyone else?

Loved it! I will say that it is problematic in that I thought so many times that I wished I had darker skin because the women were so beautiful- and I canβt think of another time I have thought that.
I have been thinking about it since I watched it yesterday.
It was entertaining enough to not impede on white fragility while also speaking to some real issues.
ETA- the thing that is problematic is my own race biases

fosterlove, I thought that too however, I thought of it as a good thing! How often do darker black women walk out a theater and think they wanted to be lighter? Even with a black actress? I thought it was a nice change and probably a proud moment for our dark skin sisters who can come out of this movie feeling proud and knowing lighter skinned women wanted to be a little (or a lot) darker! I loved that they didnβt make a love triangle for TβChalla, Nakia, and Okoye which is the comic books.

Loved, loved, loved. I knew I would, but damn, it was amazing. Saw it opening day and even took my older kids out of school to see it. I cried many times. I have many thoughts and I'm beyond thrilled it's killing it at the box office.
My mama saw it opening day, too, and we discussed it later that evening. #nerds The score and soundtrack are amazing. I listen to both all the time.
