So far today I’ve take a pretest and started my review work, taken the car for an oil change, had my 30 week appt (at 31 weeks 😂), and ran a loaf of laundry. Someday I’ll need to fold the laundry, but until we are out of clothes it really doesn’t matter does it? What are you up to today?

I’m on a plane headed for Chicago for work. Just an overnight. I’ll be home late late tomorrow night. I didn’t want to miss V day. DS is so excited. He adores all holidays.
I had to ask his teacher to give me the class list on Friday so I could have DS do his valentines over the weekend since I won’t be home tonight or tomorrow night. I can’t believe she hasn’t planned ahead for the other parents. Really annoying but she also has young kids. But still. How hard is it to email everyone or send it home in their folders?? 🤷♀️ I told DS not to be upset if not all his classmates are able to hand out valentines.
No big valentine plans here. I did make my pizza dough on Sunday and put it in the fridge for a cold ferment so we could make heart shaped pizzas on Wednesday. I have a few small things for both kids and H will pick up just a little chocolate for them.

We don't do Valentine's day. Our birthdays are both within 2 weeks of it, so we don't bother. I'm taking the kids to my mom's as usual, and H will be hanging with his friends.

Tell me this will end soon . Ahhhh Don’t want to freak you out, but... Dd1 stopped napping right after she turned two, and hasn’t napped since. One positive about it, though, was that she started sleeping longer at night. She was an early bird waker like her sister is, but after she dropped her naps she started sleeping until 7 fairly consistently. Has your dd been easier to put down for bed the last couple days without the nap? Also - how are you feeling? Any baby/pregnancy updates?

Valentines Day will probably be a long work day for my H, so it will be me and the girls from sun up to bedtime. I got them little heart-shaped boxes of candy and these tiny little horse toys dd1 wanted.
My H will usually bring a little treat like a fancy cupcake or some flowers home from work with him. That is the perfect amount of Valentines celebrating as far as I’m concerned!

Whatever You do, please do not give 3 year olds bouncy balls. They may have little siblings at home and then I have to be the bad guy and throw it away. I hate that stuff. Bubbles, tattoos, stickers, NOTHING but a card! Seriously.

Bubbles, tattoos, stickers, NOTHING but a card! Seriously. Dd1’s class is all 3 year olds. Today, one mom brought full size giant cupcakes for their party and handed out boxes of sweetarts as valentines. I’m not against sweets — we signed up to bring cookies today — but they were SMALL. This same mom brings cookies or cupcakes every time they sign up for snack, even though the school discourages sweets except for birthdays or holiday parties. They eat snack at 10:30 am, come on lady! My kid’s the boring one who brings string cheese and mandarins when it’s her turn. Oh well.

Her teacher thanked me like 5 times. Mil sent dd1 a $50 bill Today and a note to go shopping. She’s SIX!! The dd3 got a teddy bear and dd2 got a dress. I’m amazed, but I shouldn’t be.

nellieoleson I had this vision of dd napping until 4, lol so I really hope this isn’t the end. I actually nap with her and it is awesome. It’saways kind of up in the air when she will wake up in morning. I’d say normal is 6-6:45 but can def be earlier or later. I have noticed she is easier to get to sleep when she doesn’t nap. It’s been a crazy day. Dhs car won’t start and waiting for him at store to get battery. We waited about 45 minutes at his work for him to get done. Ready to be home! Things are going well with the pregnancy. Thanks for asking! I’m 11 weeks. I’m a special snowflake that doesn’t get many pregnancy symptoms so don’t really feel pregnant yet. I have some food aversion (basically nothing sounds good at times) and tired (but that’s prob just life). We recently got our genetic testing back and it’s all good. We have the gender results waitin in an envelope. I think I want to do a gender reveal cake with my immediate fam because just opening the envelope seems anticlimactic.

No Valentine's celebration here, although DH did get me flowers. DD3 is now sick with teh high fever and cough, and I have a nasty cough and a *really* sore throat. I'm going to go to the dr tomorrow to make sure I don't have strep.

I was just putting dd2 down for her nap and someone rang the doorbell. I figured it was someone selling something or a Jehovah’s Witness so I ignored it. The doorbell kept ringing. Finally I was able to sneak out without disturbing the nap, and went all annoyed to open the door. It was flowers from my H! He has NEVER sent me flowers before - brought them home for me yes, but never had them delivered. I totally cried, which is super unlike me, but I guess sometimes you need someone to do something sweet for you even if you don’t realize it.

I'm driving my mom to pick up her company car tomorrow. It's about 6 hours round trip. It's the farthest I've ever driven alone. I'm so excited to have some time alone with my music. Only downside is that I can't read while driving lol

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's day! My pizza dough turned out awful and we ended up ordering a pizza. The girls had pizza, cookies and heart shaped pie pockets for dinner. I'm winning over here. So much junk. I see my week calming down Friday around noon. I am living for Friday naptime right now, but I am so thankful we are healthy. I know so many who are sick and I need to disinfect our house again to try to keep us healthy. Is it spring yet?? Also, crimsonandclover, what do you think of those parks you described? We have a nature park near us and I love it. I do find that it takes the girls time to figure out how to play. Most of our new parks are climbing structures, not tunnels and slides. It freaks me out with dd3.

The sick horse got sick again over the weekend I spent three basically sleepless nights with him. But today he is better. And we had Thai food and watched a movie and life is good. Hi to all!

dizzycooks I have tried many many a pizza dough recipe and this by far is so easy and so good! It does require some preplanning. I mix up the dough once a week (no kneading!!!) let it rise over night and store the dough balls in the fridge for up to a week for whenever we want a pizza night. Take the dough out at least an hour before you plan to make it so it can come to room temp. It is the easiest to work with that I’ve found. 😊 www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2012/07/basic-neapolitan-pizza-dough-recipe.htmlI just use bread flour, not the fancy 00 stuff unless I happen to have which I rarely do.

My kids are climbers. I think they’d love the non traditional parks. That is one thing I look forward to when dd is old enough to start traveling to Europe...checking out all the cool parks!

Well, no strep for me but I have completely lost my voice and my throat is killing me. The DDs think it's funny (the no voice thing, not the sore throat thing). nellieoleson, good for your DH for sending the flowers!! dizzycooks, I guess I'm just used to the playgrounds. There's only one thing at one local playground that I think is waaaay too dangerous - like they didn't think it through and I'm just waiting for two kids moving at very high speeds (zip lines) to bash their heads into each other and die because they placed 2 zip lines too close together and at the end when it stops the kids always swing out wildly to the side. If 2 are going at once and happen to swing toward each other at the end, that'll be the end of that. So I only let my kids go on it when no one is on the other one.

My kids love zip lines! We have a park with two close together too and it makes me so nervous! I way overdid it today. I’m now exhausted, crampy and trying to decide if this kid is kicking me in the crotch or if I’m having contractions. I’m headed to bed to try and rest. Cannot have an outside baby yet.

I have to scrub my bath tub tomorrow. I accidentally dumped a bunch of melted wax into my bath and now it's stained red 😂 I'm clumsy. On the bright side, I had a couple of hours to myself and now I'm relaxing until I have to make dinner. I might even ask H to make it, since I've cooked almost every night for like 3 months

I had mushroom chicken stroganoff in the crock pot today, but dh wanted to meet at ikea to see the bed I want to get dd2. We ended up having dinner there. $2.49 for dinner for the munchkins?? Yes please! It was quite tasty. I had a vegetable wrap and dh had a pulled pork sandwich. Cheap! I’ve never eaten there, but I’d go back.

Happy weekend ladies! Anyone have big plans? We are taking everyone swimming and I may try taking them to an indoor playground tomorrow. We will see. I want to go to the children's museum, but it sounds like so much walking. I'm not sure I'm up for it.

It's a long weekend here, because Monday is family day, but H works tomorrow and Monday so we have no plans. Today he's going to hang out with a friend for a few hours. While he's gone, I intend to get S to clean up toys while M is napping and I'm going to fold some laundry. We're very exciting people, let me tell you.

TW - death
I was headed home from DS’s flag football game today with dd to get her down for a nap because we had a busy afternoon planned. While waiting at a stoplight I witnessed a major collision between a truck and a compact car. It was fatal. I was one of the only witnesses and called 911 immediately. DD’s nap didn’t ever really happen since I felt I needed to stick around to give my statement. I didn’t know about the fatality until I was on my way home and it hit the news but I kinda had a feeling all along. I can’t shake it. I’ve been a mess all day. Split seconds and it could have been us. It can all be over in an instant. That realization shakes me to the core. 😪

Dd2 has finally started calling dd1 by her name. For ages she has called her “EEeee!” Now she says the whole thing and it seems “Eeeee!” is a distant memory.
It’s simultaneously the cutest thing ever hearing her say her sister’s name, and melancholy that it’s the end of an era.
