They are my go to. I have super high arches and can't wear anything without support.
I am buying new gizeh and mayari's with my birthday money from my mom.

Team #alwaysandforever I have 4 pairs, but none of the typical Arizona "Jesus sandal" type.

kitchen do you find the gizeh comfortable? I've been drawn to it for probably 20 years and I've never taken the plunge. Does the thong rub uncomfortably?

Hands down. Yup. Do it. I've had both the regular and soft footbed and I greatly prefer the regular footbed. They take a little breaking in, but once they are molded to your feet they're amazing. And you can get them re-soled forever. I've had my Bostons for almost 20 years.

The only reason I'm replacing my gizehs after 6 years is that my puppy chewed a small hole in the footbed and it's finally fallen apart. You couldn't notice it until recently, but the whole thing crumbled finally.

I say do it. They are all the rage with the high schoolers this year (I teach at a h.s.). I've been wearing mine some, I go for Florida. I find them to be a little more feminine than the Arizona, since they have three more slender straps instead of the two wide ones. I also want a pair of Gizeh but probably won't get them this year. I finished my spring shopping and Birks were definitely not in the budget this time.

Oh and I also have the $30 rubber ones I wear around the house. I swear they have saved my body, I was having weird hip/leg pain after having DD1 and it completely stopped after wearing these.

I have size 9.5/10 feet. I feel like these would just make them look comically bigger/wider and that's probably why I've never tried them on before.

I like the idea of them but they've never been that comfortable to me. The breaking in stage is just painful.

Be forewarned that (at least in my experience with 4 different people who have re-soled them over the years), the people who do it are angry old men who will scold you if you've waited too long. It was $60ish last time I had it done, which sucks but is better than buying new ones.

My mom wears a 9.5 and likes the more delicate styles. Try the Madrid...I have two pairs and love them. I also have a Mayari and a discontinued style called Sparta that is my favorite.
