Hi friends! It's been a while! Nothing new to report here other than toddler mania with an almost 3 year old. Baby F is doing great, she's the happiest baby. She's also not talking as much as DD1 was at this age. She did say slipper yesterday which shocked me, she doesn't even say mama yet. I'm so looking forward to warm weather and doing more outdoors with the girls when F drops her morning nap! Hope everyone is well <3

Hey orangecrush! Glad things are going well. I hear you on the nap stuff. I'd love for their naps to sync up for a bit before ds drops his.

peaseblossom55 ignoring the camera issue does the 1st school get a "great" from you? Or is the 2nd school better overall based on what you're looking for? I'm not sure what I'd do in your situation. I think if there's a difference in quality, I'd go with the great school. I understand and like the appeal of cameras but I also think it would be better for me to not have access to cameras.

I took the kids to the play museum yesterday. It's fun but a challenge with two mobile kids. I didn't bring the stroller or ergo because I like to live dangerously. Actually, dd pitches a fit in the ergo and that makes me so sad. Today we are going to the pancake breakfast and maple sugaring celebration at the arboretum. I'm excited!
Fun fact: a family friend made maple syrup so I grew up helping them. They did it the old school way with collection buckets and over a campfire. I know I grew up in a unique situation but it makes me sad that my suburban kids won't have the same experiences as me.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

The school with the cameras was one of the first I saw. It was ok but not memorable. I am going on Monday morning to check out the school one more time. I am leaning towards the one without the cameras though.

This is exactly my thoughts. I’ve never had a camera on my babies and think it would drive me crazy checking in on them when I need to have my head in my work. But if you’re used to being able to check in, I totally see how it would be hard to give it up. My bff’s kids daycare has always had cameras and recently instituted a policy that parents can’t check more than once a day or something and I know it’s been really hard for her to adjust. I would focus on what you think is best for E and the factors you decide are highest priority will be different for every family and that’s ok!

I am leaning towards the school without cameras, just because I overall got a better feel from it. That is what is the most important thing. I have been so busy at work I haven't had much time to check the nanny cams actually. Sometimes when I am having a bad day at work, it makes me smile just to see her. I also realize as she gets older I can't always have cameras on her and peek in. I am hoping Monday will solidify one school or another and I can register her next week.

The next two days are packed. My car needs to be serviced so the kids and I are crammed into mh's clown car. We're at the dealership now. Then we scoot off to drop mh off at the train station. Then run to the township building to pick up the roof permit. Then we hit up the library for circle time and return books. Then a quick stop at home to pick up the dog then off to the inlaws because they're watching the dog because she will not enjoy the roofing process. Mh cleaned out his desk so I'm going to use their shredder for all the paper with personal info. Then reverse everything to get mh and go pick up my car. Phew!
Roofing starts bright and early tomorrow. I just realized that my kids probably aren't going to nap tomorrow. Wheeeee.

I'm exhausted thinking about all of the in and outs of the clown car with two kids. I have an obnoxious amount of time between each thing so I can't go straight from one to the next but long enough that I can't chill in the car with the kids.

Big day in the JudyBlume household - I sent both girls to daycare with the same lunch! A's was just in smaller bites and smaller containers!

Lakes, busy days with multiple in-and-outs of the carseat make me batty.

Lakes sounds tiring. Ah I didn't even realize E won't nap when we get the roof done. H still doesn't have a date for when they are starting.

I went this morning viewed the daycare with te cameras again. Better school than I remember how ever the class size some days is 20 kids. The other is 6. I worry she will get lost in the shuffle with 20 kids even with 3 teachers.

Wow I’m exhausted thinking about all those in and outs too Lakes. Hope it goes smoothly. I’m loving being able to feed both kids the same things too judyblume14! 20 kids sounds like a lot to me too peaseblossom55. M’s class is 8 (I think goes up to 10 next year) and DS’s class is 12. Both always have at least 2 teachers in there. Just wanted to offer some comparison point.

Big weekend for baby M...weaned on Friday and dropped to one nap on Saturday. And she’s walking so much lately. So pretty much ready for kindergarten. I’m equal parts loving it and so sad that I’m done with babies. Like the one nap schedule is so freeing because we can have a decent stretch to go somewhere (this morning we spent an hour and a half at toddler open gym at the gymnastics studio) but it also means I don’t have an hour or so of one on one time with DS on my days at home. All the feelings.

I think dd will nap in that with the white noise. Ds will get some screen time if he gets grumpy and doesn't take a nap. Upside to all this craziness: thai takeout tonight!

All the feelings. Dd only nurses for a few minutes in the morning and it's been amaaaaazing to have my body back during the day and has made the bedtime routine much more enjoyable. I dream of one nap though. She takes like 2.5 still, 2 shortish naps plus she always falls asleep in the car when I'm out of the house in the morning. I'm ready for one nap!

I love it When B does 1 nap. He's not there yet consistently, but when he does it's great. He's so tuckered out by bedtime that I put his pjs on and he literally dives for his crib lol.

No roof surprises! 🎉🎉
After two crazy hectic days, I feel like it should be Friday. I can't believe it's only Wednesday 😭
Attempted to buy Dd "real" shoes this morning. The in-store selection did not go small enough. She ended up with a pair of 0-3 month moccasins and a 0-6 month soft soled crib shoe. Such a peanut. I was hoping to get her a more sturdy shoe for gravel and mulch situations. Guess I'll have to look online. I find the sizes of different styles vary wildly so I was hoping to find a pair in person to try on.

Ever heard of nursemaid's elbow? A got it yesterday. We, of course, thought her arm was broken. Took her to the doctor (God bless them for being open til 7). Doc popped it right back into place before we even knew what it was.
It's very easy to diagnose (the child basically will not move their arm, and doesn't feel pain unless its moved), and fix (like, 2 seconds, literally). Once it's back in, they go on their merry way like nothing ever happened.
BUT, at first, it's just scary because the kid screams and cries when you move their arm so you assume it's snapped in half or something...

Omg peanut twins Lakes! MIL and I took M to buy shoes on Sunday and ended up with the single pair in the store that was small enough for her and not soft soled (she’s outside a lot at daycare so wanted something with a real sole). They’re Pedipeds and I ended up ordering another style online since I know they at least fit. M is in a 19 in their Grip n Go line which equates to 6-12 months 🙄 She had another pair of their soft sole ones and just outgrew the 3-6 month size a couple weeks ago haha. Congrats on finalizing your decision peaseblossom55!

That’s crazy judyblume14! I’ve never heard of that before. I’m glad you were able to get if fixed quickly! I keep thinking today is Thursday Lakes. This week has been weirdly long. Hooray for picking a daycare peaseblossom55! Did you decide on easing her in, or going full time from the start?

Straight from the toddler's mouth: Daddy made coffee. Mama needs coffee. I'm glad he's figuring out life early on.
